  1. I am none the wiser as to which ones you mean (A E C ?) but most of the CAD details on the 3D library have not been updated for 2-4 years , so there are no new ones if that is your thought? I now see you have X8 so you couldn't use newer ones even if there were some available. M.
  2. Search the Forum this has come up many times but this may help..... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00673/creating-corner-windows.html
  3. CAD symbols? If you ave SSA , they are Free..... you need to do your Forum Signature so we know what software and version you have.. *** to fill in your Signature like this .... go up to the top RH Corner above and click on your UserName> Account Settings> Signature.... and enable Signature (will Turn Green) then add your Hardware Details and Chief Software Version, as different Version require different Answers.
  4. Send the Test Plan in or they won't know there is an Issue........ M
  5. See Michael and My posts from Yesterday about the hidden Arrows https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/20000-individual-door-labels-x10/?do=findComment&comment=163387 Kirk's Video is also very good.....
  6. It's right there in the 2nd Post .... or just above now.... Lucky you Kirk just made a video in another Thread too....
  7. You must have Sigs Off , in your account settings, check it so it goes green..... see blue below for how.... you should see this : Mick CA X10 Win10 Pro on (3) 32" BenQ BL3200PT Monitors Desktop - Custom Built with Asus X99A-II MB, 5820k CPU, 32GB RAM and EVGA Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti FTW2 *** to fill in your Signature like this .... go up to the top RH Corner above and click on your UserName> Account Settings> Signature.... and enable Signature (will Turn Green) then add your Hardware Details and Chief Software Version, as different Version require different Answers. ***To add Pics to your Posts please use Windows Snipping Tool , found under Windows Accessories in your Start Menu, Save the Snip to your Desktop and Drag it into the Light Grey Area of the Reply Window.
  8. Depends on the type of Fixture Usually , ie is it concentric to the Box or hang down or point Up , so I usually use 78-84" depending on that and the Room Type etc, 72" must be a very old STD I think.
  9. That Default setting would only change the Fixture set as the Default Wall Fixture I believe..... The Default Fixtures are the ones in the Quick Electrical Dropdown only... The Library lights would need to be copied to your User Library and then the height can be Changed , and you wouldn't use the CA Library Core Item anymore as it is locked.(no changes) M.
  10. You are correct ! you have a layer called Hidden , which I never thought to look for..... thought you had a new Trick up your Sleeve.....thanks for the reply... M.
  11. A Quickie , so your Boss will buy X10 ...this is PBR ... with lighting and shadows. (RCSS are new in X10) I made a few Changes to materials and lighting for PBR..... Graham (The KitchenAdobe) would make it even better I am sure.... @TheKitchenAbode
  12. Do a Save -As Plan and then delete stuff in Areas that are not needed for the Kitchen Shot ... Eg: in unseen bathrooms or exterior landscape Items or , stuff on the Upper floor or Basement if there is either etc.
  13. Don't forget to Post your "Entire Plan", there are 15+ textures missing) so others like Mark , Rene and Graham can have a play if they have time and show you what x10 and PBR is capable of... M.
  14. I like that ! wondered why you included that one as I clicked through all 4 shots.... If your Boss doesn't like Shadows one thing to do, that may help, in X9 ( or X10) is to turn Off Bloom and turn Ambient Occlusion down to 18-20% in the camera view, AO in particular the way Chief handles it, I think makes the Corners look too Dark and kinda weird especially in STD View...
  15. There is a number of Threads here about 2020 and Revit...worth you doing a Search and some reading , many , like MarkMc left 2020 behind and use CA exclusively now doing Kitchens.....he'd likely even be willing to do some Training sessions with you.... @MarkMc
  16. Finally had a chance to check your Plan Michael , I didn't notice the top Call Out is larger in your Pic yesterday but I am curious how it is Referencing the Door ...for the Macro to work? I can do it with a Text Arrow or Leader line using the invisible line type to hide the Arrow but I don't see that in use on your Callout.? *** *** make a layer called Hidden , then assign the Arrows to it , then turn that layer's Display Off I assume the Brick texture/Solid was for Johnny's post yesterday? M.
  17. Yes it sounds like you have a tough nut to crack there ( excuse the pun) but She is not being very Realistic and doesn't understand the limitations of CA-X9. Most people are now Using PBR in X10 as it is faster ( almost instant ...secs vs minutes ) to see the results of your Changes , so the $695 upgrade cost is likely worth it in time alone for the business, but i'd recommend She keeps the SSA Current so you always have the latest features. Good thing about upgrading now would be that you will like get X11 next year Free due to 1yr SSA coming with an Upgrade purchase. Other Options would be to have a Professional Render do the Renders for Her for each project but that is not necessarily cheap but People Like Jintu (link below) use Lumion and other Photo realistic Rendering Engines to produce very nice Images. There is definitely an Art to it, and a steep learning curve , it's definitely not a click the button and your have instant Photo Realistic , beautifully lit Images for Clients to look at. Your Plan doesn't include the Textures ( use backup entire Plan to Zipfile Instead ) so I couldn't have a look in PBR at it.....and show you.... http://www.jintudesigns.com/interior-renderings-home3.html his pricing page.... it should convince your boss to get X10 along with Graham's Image above.... http://www.jintudesigns.com/3d-rendering-prices.html
  18. You may need to install Adobe Shockwave player to watch Wendy's Video as it is made in Jing which uses .swf format. https://helpx.adobe.com/shockwave.html Internet Explorer may open it if Flash is enabled too.
  19. You have to be conscious of what will move and in what direction otherwise you will end up on the room re-size merry-go-round much like trying to change individual walls 1 by 1 . M.
  20. Hi Mark , looks like you reposted Image 1 for Image 4 as it doesn't show any defaults. M.
  21. This Method Works for me too , roughly draw the Outer shell , then use Temp. Dimensions to move walls so the Rooms are the Correct size. Having the Grid at 12" and Grid Snaps at 1" means you can draw it roughly fairly quickly , by judging the length with the Grid and the Temp Dimension as you Draw. (Hit Alt-Q and check that Temp Dims Option) As Glenn mentioned , you can use the TAB key to set a Wall's length as you Draw it ( drag wall out and hit tab as you do it to get the dimension DBX) this usually means the wall stays that length , whereas trying to drag a wall out to the right Dimension is difficult and changing the length after the wall is drawn means the wall can lose 1/2 it's thickness when you go around a corner as you have seen.
  22. Did the 2nd method from the command Line Work? ( it apparently doesn't anymore with Win10 1803 (April Update), I have updated the Other thread linked above with other methods too but the easiest is ...... Right Click a .calibz file and Choose Open With>CA X10 (scroll Down to bottom if you don't see X10 listed and choose look on PC and once found look for the Checkbox that says Always Use this App M.
  23. Hi , yes I have another Post on that as it seemed to be an Issue when X10 1st came out ............. Control Panel>Default Programs may no longer work so use the 2nd method for Windows.
  24. That appears to be the Issue , you can make and define a new Door Label Layer and Text Style but you can't make the Door Use it it seems.... perhaps one for the Suggestions Forum? M.
