  1. Just FYI .....This should not be done , it leads to a whole lot of "crazy" in the Terrain at they fight each other for Control definitely the way to go I think too... M.
  2. That is from when I found out the Hard Way AutoSave was not working for some reason and also why I increased the Max. files to 30 and I am rarely "bugged" but then I do go in and have a manual Clean Out of the Archive folder every few months. M.
  3. I would also get your Co-Worker to Check the Preferences Settings for the Autobackup and Archives to make sure they are on , as they should be by Default....
  4. You did Check that all that Cabinet Layers are displayed in the pertinent Layersets right? did you try the ALL ON Layerset? are they gone for sure....... you could also upload the Plan on the Forum perhaps? M.
  5. Check you don't have an Archived Autobackup available 1st...... someone had this issue Yesterday too....ie a corrupt Plan File so I won't type it up again, here is a link..... Mick.
  6. Yes quite , I am not sure why it was set to 1 to 1 or why that would cause 3'7" 5/8 to show as 77+' feet though? But I believe one of the other things done in X13 and refined in X14 was a rebuilding of the Dimension System in Chief. M.
  7. Delete the Front roof Plane and pull the rear roof plane to the front of the building.......... M.
  8. Not sure exactly what the Issue is but I did see exactly what you are but once I reset the Primary Format from 1:1 in the Dimension Defaults it reverted both my Dim and the Auto Dims to normal... PS setting it back to 1:1 does not make it occur here again so ........
  9. Happy to help , you might want to adjust the Preferences for the time for Autosave and Auto Archive Backups , depending on how much work you lost....
  10. Unfortunately if the Header is Corrupt the File usually can't be opened, even by Chief Tech Support. However Auto Backup should be on in Preferences by default so you should have a backup which was saved to your Chief Data Folder in Documents in a Folder called Archives. C:\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X15 Data\Archives This should help you find it........... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00099/accessing-your-archive-files.html' Mick.
  11. It is a Sketchup File type and sometimes works better for exporting especially into SU, does SU export a better OBJ perhaps? M.
  12. For those not speaking Icon, that is the Arc Centers and Ends On/Off Icon in the View Menu or you can add it to your Toolbars as well if needed frequently. M.
  13. Are you running the latest Version of X15 ? as I had a number of Issues with skylights on a Project similar to this a while back and Chief rushed out a fix which made it into the latest Version, though I am not 100% sure it was 100% fixed, so it maybe worth reporting again too, as my guess is they are well into working on X16 by now for next year. M.

    GLASS

Scott would need to comment back but as a Chief Employee I am sure He is using X15 and may not of noticed your Signature. Chief is now all subscription , at $200mth/$2000 yr though I think for the 1st yr they still offer 50% off the 1st yr if you upgrade to the latest version. Mick. @scottharris

    GLASS

Not sure if your Signature is upto Date ? re X11, but Scott's advice likely is aimed at X15 which is based on the totally new PBR View that came in X13, but Graham Korbey also has a thread called "Let's PBR" that covers versions upto X12. Mick
  16. If you need a full "working" Chief Model and not a Symbol you can also use Edit > Edit Area > (Choose Option) and then drag a Edit Area box around everything to be included > paste into a new Plan. Mick.

Some of the Best Info on the Forum for Info on the Old CPU RayTracing is still Graham Korbey's 2017 " Lets CPU RayTrace" Thread here: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/14512-lets-ray-trace/page/4/?tab=comments#comment-130373 and specifically Speckles......... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/14512-lets-ray-trace/?do=findComment&comment=124786 Mick.
  18. Library > Import > (find the.calibz download) or Drag and Drop into a open Chief Plan View Window M.
  19. If the Manufacturer already has Sketchup Models that would help Chief , and perhaps internally Chief may also have a way to convert .rfa (Revit) files though Chief itself cannot (yet.) And I am sure DWGs for Profiles etc would work too. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/partners/catalog-partner-program.html M.
  20. Sounds like it should still go in for a look at perhaps..... as that shouldn't be needed..... the ceiling plane or pulling it out..... M.....
  21. The Red liquid has picked up Green Glass as it's material somehow, and the middle Napkin is Polished Chrome so can't be changed as it's the Tray as well. Chief always seems to have an issue in STD View with curved glass objects but in PBR it looks pretty good...
  22. I didn't dig too deep as I'm now using X15 and thought there maybe differences from what I was seeing in your plan. Mick.
  23. Wasn't trying to make a point perse, just letting you know how to get quick answers to Issues and without the Plan Chris wouldn't of been able to find it is 3 mins.... Mick.
