Don't you use the SAM method? I'm just guessing about the problem but seems to me the SAM can eventually carry over things that you really don't want or know about. But - I'm just guessing. So take my comment for what it's worth.

Larry - I think your template could be the problem. I just opened X14 and quickly recreated a similar plan. My template has auto framing turned on...and the screen clip below shows the result. Worked as expected...

Here's one method... I use stem walls and joist floor system as my default...which is typical here in Indiana. Then, I switch the floor of the one area to a monoslab. Have to mess a bit a few of the foundation walls...but it does seem to work. HumbleChief (Larry) - Mono Slab with 18" Raised floors - Watch Video

@AndrewSopher - Yes, to make it look as if there is a ledge, just auto detail and move the "fill" into position. That's all you can do.
-
@Doug_N - No problem...I didn't read your post thoroughly enough. I understand your point...and you are correct. I never noticed that when you place a framed pony wall with masonry veneer over a concrete stem wall (foundation)...that Chief does not auto create a brick ledge.
-
@Doug_N if you look at my wall definitions I set them all to have a zero depth brick ledge.
-
@AndrewSopher - Take a look at the attached plan. It may help you understand how pony walls work to get you what you want. You need a pony wall for the main level wall type...and a pony wall for the foundation wall type. You may need to manually align them as Chief doesn't do a great job aligning pony walls on top of pony walls. Foundation Pony Wall with Brick X13.plan

Is it "Apple"...or is it "Chief"? No other application that I use on my iMac has this issue. You should send the info to Chief.... I really doubt Apple is going to make changes to their operating system in order to accommodate Chief.

The "pour group" is only relative to the material list. The material list will segregate the materials for each "group". It doesn't change the outcome of the foundation construction. I probably should have mentioned that in the video...oops!
-
@Gawdzira - Open the garage room, uncheck flat ceiling over this room. You might get a warning...just ignore it.

Porch shows house footer extending outside of the house
SNestor replied to LeRoyWells's topic in General Q & A
@HumbleChief - That would work if the patio didn't extend past the end wall...did I miss this? I thought he wanted the patio to extend slightly beyond the end wall...as such, the invisible wall didn't work for me. -
Porch shows house footer extending outside of the house

@LeRoyWells - workaround...but, it's an option and it only takes a couple minutes; Leroy - Porch Slab Fix/workaround - Watch Video -
@para-CAD Thanks so much!

Hang on...X14 is coming. I'm hoping Chief has X14 dialed in for the MAC with this release.
-
@stevenyhof - you are too kind. Thanks!

In my video I use a modified Kohler symbol...and I don't have this issue. I've opened and closed the plan and created new camera views...no problem. Weird.
-
So the problem is that the symbol is not cutting a hole in the custom countertop...or, it does, but when you open the plan at a later date the "gap" returns? I've tested this on my MAC...I've saved the file, opened and closed and created different renders and the sink is always in the correct position...no gap. I wonder if it's a video card issue? Or...am I not understanding the real problem....admittedly I'm not sure if I do.
-
Not really a bug...whomever created the undermount kohler sink symbol did not locate the z-axis correctly. Watch the video... Kevin Whitt - Fix for undermount Kohler Sink (not a bug really) - Watch Video

There isn't an "auto" solution really...busy work. I attempted to use a transom window, changed the glass material to color-white and moved the window more toward the exterior of the window. This looks ok from the exterior...but of course you'll have a transom window on the interior...which I'm sure you don't want.

Maybe a wall material region?
