You should upload the plan...or an example plan. Thanks.

Made you a quick video showing you how easy this is; CA15 - Creating a Custom Stacked Molding - Watch Video

It appears your roof defaults were set to use "trusses"...not "rafters" - Open the build roof dialogue and check to use "rafters". - Then rebuild the roof framing. It should change automatically. Make sure you have "rafters" turned on in your layer set.

The reason you don't have a frieze on the front elevation is the roof over the front entry (left side) is not extended to the surface of the brick on the two story section. The area that isn't a room is due to the fact that some of the walls that surround the space are designated "no room definition"...just uncheck this for the walls that surround the space and it will become a room with a floor and ceiling.

Tired of struggling along with Chief and want to supercharge your skills...well, maybe some 1:1 training will help. Most all of us on this forum have at one time or another paid for some help learning Chief. I have trained more than a hundred different users...some just once, others many times. I use zoom and record the sessions. I share my screen and go through the processes needed showing you how to accomplish specific tasks. You can learn more by visiting my website here; https://www.mychiefskills.com

Glad it helped! Dormers seem to be the bane of all who dive into Chief.

I made you a video to show you how. I'd say doing something like this is somewhat of an advanced roof topic. Custom Dormers for Jarenand on Chief Talk - Watch Video

Need Help with 1 1/2 story Roof with Dormers (X15)
SNestor replied to cktenterprise's topic in Offering Services
@cktenterprise I happy to teach you how; You can schedule a one hour session on my website (see my signature below). I also have a YouTube page...and there are a number of videos related to dormers that may help you get started. Feel free to email me here; steve@mychiefskills.com Website: www.mychiefskills.com -
It can be done... I used an invisible wall to create the room that extends beyound the face of your brick entry wall. I did make a new wall type (a copy of brick-4). In this new wall I adjusted the brick ledge depth to zero. I also specified to build the platform (the concrete floor) to the brick layer. The new "room" has no ceiling or roof specified. Rooms are the key...they control most everything in Chief.

Something like this... -
@robdyck - you are so correct. Fast and simple...
-
Oh…I see now you want two panels of different size. Yea…custom. You could make it quick using cabinets to create a symbol.
-
You should have this in the bonus catalog...

@luckyudesign - This is how I'd do it. I've attached your plan so you can review/comment. Luckyu_PorchCeilingQuestion.plan

Help Me Fix A Messed Up Roof (and a few other problems...)
SNestor replied to ThomasR89's topic in General Q & A
Thomas - Have you watched the "roof basics" series of videos in the Chief Training Videos: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5447/roof-basics.html?playlist=95 Good place to start. You are working on a difficult roof for someone just starting to work with Chief. You might want to create a new plan...and just practice the basics. -
@JuneberryMarket - what version of Chief are you using?

Help Me Fix A Messed Up Roof (and a few other problems...)

Oh...yea, you need to put your signature in the forum. Everything I did to your roof can be accomplished in X13. Nothing is unique in X15. -
Help Me Fix A Messed Up Roof (and a few other problems...)
SNestor replied to ThomasR89's topic in General Q & A
Too many things to explain...but, I set the roof default to 8/12. Then opened the walls that required 12/12 and set the pitch. The one key thing to do is in "roof defaults" make sure you select "same height eaves"....and uncheck "same roof height at exterior walls". I manually fixed the roof over the main entry. -
I gave it a shot. Not perfect...but I think close enough.
-
You might want to use a combo of things...but I think you could do most of this using cabinets.

Transparent Screen Material in Vector/Elevation view
SNestor replied to TyDesign's topic in General Q & A
The view in my post is a vector view. Same as an elevation camera...it's a vector view which is controlled by the "rendering technique". You should just go purchase my Screened Porch Library and save yourself a lot of hassle. Section Elevation Camera...vector view; -
