  1. I think we will need to see more of deck pics.
  2. I would fake that wall with a polyline. Do you really need the lumber list the actual wall will produce? The other option would be to make that section of wall 3.5" thicker and make it a pony wall. But really, the polyline.
  3. The real question is: where do you find and electrician willing to accept that level of direction?

I love the presentation style of treating the digital model like a physical model.
  5. What printer do you use for the PDF export? Are you using the one native in Chief?
  6. My neighbor was collecting water off his roof for years. He was filling his barrels from months when there was no rainfall but enough moisture from the dewpoint condensation to refill after he had watered his plants.
  7. Do we have to release a whole chorus of Wa, Wa's?
  8. Janelle, Multiple .plan files can feed into one .layout file. In other news, you can back clip the camera when taking an elevation view to remove the background building (for you next project).
  9. Thanks for sharing. When do we ride together at Kirkwood? I will be there tomorrow.
  10. I have never had an engineer work the load path for a standard ceiling joist. But, generally, the interior walls have support from at least 2 floor joists. Either a double joist parallel or ladder blocking across two joists. Is an engineer involved in the project?
  11. Thanks Michael. Now I can rest easy. In a few weeks, when I finish a few of these projects.
  12. Thanks. It does not make sense to me but I put in the Stucco pattern from the library and that works. Why would the sand texture not work? No more time to experiment.
  13. I have a stucco texture from the CA library, Stucco -> Sand Finish-Flint. I have added a "sand" pattern to the texture and it does not show up in a vector view elevation. It does show up in the Layout box view. When I print it disappears again. I tried setting the pattern line weight to 30 and it still does not appear. Left image is Layout, Center is pdf, right is vector view in Plan. Computer is is to spec with a 3080 card.
  14. If you release drawings or CADD files, get a release signed first. Here is an example that I came up with based on some similar documents. This has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Feel free to use and edit. https://www.dropbox.com/s/q94bjong5dgtb9f/release of CADD files.odt?dl=0
  15. Oops, I just have A as arrow. I guess I can stop pressing W,A now. Never mind.
  16. Maybe I am special but I have W assigned to Line and then W,A assigned to line with arrow. It is working for me.
  17. I have an Epson SC-T2170, It goes through ink a little faster than my older HP. I do not print a lot for clients. When I do, I charge $350/sht for full color since I always have color in my con docs. The time to deal with the outfeed and assembly of pages is daunting so when I have more than 30 sheets to run I will hire my son to manage it for $1/sht. The actual cost to run a sheet is about $1. I have yet to rig up my stand so that the outfeed system is clean. One day?
  18. If you are adding the 1/16" for the Zip surface, you would want to reduce that from the 7/16" sheathing layer. The actual material is a pretty true 7/16" unless you use the actual 1/2" sheathing. I am using it in the field on most projects.
  19. Make sure to size you image for the proportions of the plane it will be applied to. If your T.V. measures 60x29, crop your image to 600x290 px, etc. Then apply the material "stretch to fit".
  20. That is a great idea. Maybe this can become the start of it as it would just need to be an ongoing thread. The only problem would be if multiple submissions were getting feedback at the same time. Maybe this thread is the jumping off point to a slack channel where you could have individualized projects for clarity. Personally, since I am working in California, a lot of my knowledge is based on the needs of our states more stringent requirements.
  21. Pixel Hog. That is, like, all the pixels.
  22. The other way to approach this is to ask the building official, where you primarily work, if they have a plan check check list you could review to help make their job easier. This will give you a blueprint on what to study.
