  1. Thanks for that input @Bob-Roraback Does the vapor barrier issue still apply with a conditioned crawlspace? There is a thread in the Chatroom currently regarding details and who will read them. I am hopeful to see a paradigm shift that construction documents become a true instruction set for the builders. I don't want to hijack this thread but the other thread in the Chatroom will hopefully get traction to open this discussion.
  2. Looks good. I have a few questions regarding the placement of: 1. the sill sealer sheet at the wall to joists. Why do you have that there? The batt insulation should make that connection and this is not an air barrier type of set up for that system. 2. The sill sealer below the sill plate is not standard where I have built. I would normally put that at the P.T. sill plate to concrete wall connection. Below the wall sill plate, I have been using acoustic sealant to maintain a tight air barrier. 3. I am not familiar with putting a drain pipe on the inside of the foundation walls. Is this a frost heave prevention detail?
  3. Drop the DPI to 144 and see if you get the same result?
  4. I did use that print model feature once when making a chipboard model. The guy in the office next to me just got a small laser cutter for making wood models and now I really miss having that feature.
  5. Also, on Michaels last image, change the "Locate" to "Surfaces". That will give you what you want for as built conditions.
  6. I have hot keys for standard dimensioning and for interior dimensioning. I would recommend setting up a hot key for interior dimensions (and just about everything else you use constantly).
  7. The engineer I use a lot uses Chief. Jared at JP Engineering (California based) 831-264-3217

  9. A link is worth a thousand pictures ( I may not have that correct?) https://www.amazon.com/Visual-Dictionary-Architecture-Francis-Ching/dp/0470648856/ref=asc_df_0470648856/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312138007830&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2079614019782659626&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031886&hvtargid=pla-489411544698&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=60258871097&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=312138007830&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2079614019782659626&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031886&hvtargid=pla-489411544698
  10. I often need to push the perspective to capture enough in small spaces. I will then take the image to Lightroom to adjust for vertical.
  11. @MarkMc Wow. I did not think I would get so much out of dropping the suns value so low. Thanks for taking a look at that. This gives me a lot to look at as I am setting up PBR shots.
  12. I have added a lot of point lights to this plan to get the lighting bright enough for the PBR. Maybe I am doing this all wrong? Should I add these lights to brighten the space or should there be one larger point light behind the camera? I am hoping to avoid all the ho t spots that are showing up like space ships from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. SB kitchen wall v3.zip
  13. One thing to pay attention to is the curve segments. I am not sure about "Interiors" but check for the Facet Angle of the curve. Change that to 1 instead of 7.5 for a smoother curve.
  14. I could not find this in the 8 or 9 catalogs I have for cabinets so I created this. I really should have saved the time and started by just making it. 3 qtr shaker modern face.calibz
  15. You can adjust the angle of the siding in the "Texture" tab of the materials DBX.
  16. Thanks Eric. I opened up a file in X14 and see that it is native to the Label in x14. I had looked earlier in X13. I am still in the transition phase with older projects I don't want to bring forward.
  17. The label would work for me. I did not see it as an option in the out of the box label macros. Is that a custom macro?
  18. Can we get volume of poly solids to report in Cubic Feet?
  19. Also, make sure you set up your wall defaults type to match your on site conditions. Where I am there are a lot of projects that use 5/8" drywall and thin wall plaster amounting to a "drywall" layer that is close to 3/4". If you have your wall "drywall" layer set at 1/2" it can really add up after a few rooms are placed using the surfaces setting.
  20. This is the way I always construct an as built. You just need to set your interior dimension to snap to "Surfaces"
  21. I use that camera for gas line diagrams.
  22. When I first bought the program I bought 4 or 5 hours of one on one training. I used it over the first 3-4 weeks. I would work for a few days and develop questions and pain points specific to my work needs. This was a quick way to get directed help. Chief Architect offers this as well as private trainers that you can find in the Offering Services section of this forum.
