I seem to have forgotten how to do this and the help is not helping. I want to try and created the attached fixture. I am trying to distribute a thin ":ED strip" with a small yellow "light" in it's center along a line. SPlines don't seem to work. Also not having luck with a arc. I only get the attached dbx with only the first selection operable. ANy help appreciated!

Eric - A lot depends on the amount of detail you have to include. i.e. a full kitchen? bathrooms
with the tub/shower/vanity/ lights, Any furniture(probably not).
I am ow working on PART of a house. I imported the scaled pdf and have about 2 1/2 hours into it but this included the kitchen with cabinets, lights and some furniture. IN fact that is most of it. MAybe others that do full homes can chime in with their thoughts.

Perry I assume Outlook 2010 was a separate purchase and did not come with win 8? Or did it?
-
I use Outlook 20003 for email and contacts, calander. Does the new email handle all those functions?

Rosco, I saved one of your pictures and opened it in Microsoft picture manager and hit auto correct and this is the result. Notice how the contrast is better and the picture more crisp. At least to me it is.....;o)

Wow, nice Yusuf!

Hi Rosco,

I think most of the renderings could use some adjustment to the contrast. Some less than others. I like the
overall composition & details. Maybe a little bump map on the carpet? Can't tell for sure if you used any.
All in all I think the client will like them very much.
Thanks for sharing.

Michael - I completely understand for custom cabinets. And I can appreciate how many could benefit from expanded ability in Chief to do what you and others are asking.

There is a video on this somewhere. I tried a couple of searches in the old forum but could not find it. Anyone have a link or remember it?

I guess it really has more to do with custom lines/designs. A lot of the items are basically installation notes
Being a contractor who designs and oversees the installation I don't feel the need to be so heavily detailed on the plans I can see how for others in their capacity there is a greater need to detail.
-
Chief needs to make these an option. FOr now you're stuck with manually doing them
-
Kind of what I was referring to in post #6

I use semi-custom for pretty much all my cabinets and have never had a need to do those type of dimensions. What is the purpose of those dimensions? I can see for custom maybe but even then not every cabinet. Please enlighten me.

My first thought is the plan examiner has bad eyesight!

Ray - make it once, save as symbol, have it for life!

Joe - I know you mean the 2D CAD tools but based Johnny's post I would say I use chief's 2D/3D a lot as does everyone. THe plan design and layout are all done with the 2D walls, cabinets, doors and windows etc. THe beauty of the program is the 3D attached to the 2D. At some point I begin referencing the 3D to get a better "feel" for how things look in "that world." I would think everyone probably works that way. And yes mostly 2d CAD for text based items and arrows.

How do you manage your tasks and projects?
Dennis_Gavin replied to RichardBradley92's topic in General Q & A
Welcome, I am a remodeling contractor. I use Outlook for the calendar and email and sync with my phone. With windows 10 coming out I will have to see how things work/change. Projects(customers) get their own folder with subfolders as needed. I create sub folders for site pictures(existing), quotes from subs and suppliers, ray traces and keep other items in the main folder. Works for me.- 7 replies

Are your walls flipped? i.e. inside is on the exterior and exterior is on the interior? If so select and at the bottom of the screen there will be an icon to flip the wall.
-
YOu have to check on stretch to fir in the material dialogue box under texture.
-
Not sure I completely understand your question but think maybe you need to make a new wall type with the layers you want.

Scott = I didn't know you wore your hair in a bun! ;o) -
click on the window you want to change and then hit the tab key and that window will be selected. Make changes in dbx.
