  1. Scott you need to get an atlas out we are east of Australia in the Pacific.
  2. I don't think we will ever get a consensus between the two methods. I was always taught to keep each floor on a level and use level 0 as foundation, but as the programme has evolved over the versions I can see how it does not make much difference, do what suits your method or requirements. If I remember correctly in the early days v5 level 0 was called foundation, and our layer control was nowhere like it is now.
  3. sounds good, as long as it is not a weekend for me.
  4. You can cut and paste (as a picture) from excel to ca to save a step.
  5. Terry Your response to me says it is win 10 setup on the problem machine, as you can clearly see that it works on 1 machine . therefore not CA . I would look at the video card and possibly go back to an older driver?. check the differences between the 2 machines for a lead to the problem. without any real data it is hard to troubleshoot. best of luck tracking it down.
  6. I have no problem here, but am using win 7, it may be something to do with win10 ?
  7. Rob it seems like in your importing of layer sets and anno sets you have done something to link the sets. Maybe attach the plan file? Have you tried deleting the layout and resending the offending pages? Have you done a machine restart?
  8. You need to export at full 1:1 scale so that it goes into ACAD at the correct size.
  9. As long as you dont use point to point dimensions the dimensions auto adjust as you move the walls as they are linked to them.
  10. If you are only looking for look not framed I would use poly solids saved in library and then stretch for different rooms. By adding to the library each time you will eventually get a good selection.
  11. You will get better answers on hometalk which is for your programme this is for Chief Architect programme
  12. I dont think there is a 32 bit version but check with CA
  13. Note BRANZ (*Building Research Association of New Zealand) is not a Government website. It does provide some very good details for methods trhat may be used to schieve compliance with the building code.
  14. Scott I had no microphone working so could not speak, think that is now sorted. So next time, depending on time of day.
  15. Scott That was a good workshop, or the hour that I saw. Had problems loading go to meeting, but have that now then we got a power outage so lost connection.
  16. Larry you might be onto something here, I had a problem the other day when doing a non slab floor. I thought it was me as default settings did not seem to hold. I will have to look further into this. I do 90% slabs so not usually a problem.
  17. as above but use copy hold position to get it in the correct position.
  18. I find it is easier to move the terrain as Glenn and Scot already said.
  19. Alan To replace ACAD try Draftsight there is a free version which does all you want in 2D I have not tried 3D with it.
  20. It depends on the size of the number ie 988mm , 1805mm 2405mm or 2.405m , 20.225m. We don't have a hard and fast rule but our 8m tape measures are generally marked in mm with bold increments every 100mm so would have 900 - 3000 - 100 bold text, however sometimes the 3000 can be 3. I generally use mm up to about 8m to 10m
