You need to create an open below room over the stairs for them to show, or you haven't checked the see floor below in camera defaults. You can also use the auto stair hole tool
-
also make sure the layout and plan files are in the same folder
-
All I can say at this point is post the plan and someone can see for sure.
-
I can see that the lower roof plane is in the way so the walls can't generate. Just move the roof plane back.
-
I would unblock that not explode it.
-
I don't think Chief will exactly model that, just get it as close as you can and use the detail callout for exact conditions. You will have to do some cover-up in the sections also. You might be able to get the floor close though using a custom floor system.
-
Post a picture, not sure what you are talking about.
-
sorry-not seeing that problem.
-
I don't do it anymore until Chief fixes this, been around a very long time. If I did, you have to create 2 different walls, 1 for new, and 1 for existing. the pattern would be on the new stucco (transparent of course) wall. Anytime you have two different materials join in Chief it will create a line in vector view . for me its easier to cross hatch the existing areas using a white line so you don't have to outline the exact areas involved, put it in the front of the view, like a mask.
-
Well, it's just not the correct way of doing it, the separation line should be dotted and the walls should be solid, automatically without having to manually do it.
-
Between the 2 (new and existing) does Chief still create that line in vector view? That's why I don't do it anymore, unless they fixed that.

I agree with you 1 million percent.

You are correct, I don't think It's always been that way. Never noticed , as I usually build roof planes and attic walls manually. It's just what I remember.
-
Chief will not generate an attic wall where there is no wall below.
-
Funny, I have never used that "make copy of active layer set" and never had Scott's problem.

just cut the roof at the ridge and drag it back to the attic wall, there is a space there. There is no wall below so no attic wall will generate at the garage, you need to do that manually. Or just add a new attic wall or, you can just drag the existing attic wall over the garage area.
-
Not sure but I think the reference set you might be using references the floor you just came from another- wards , if you come from level 0 to level 1 then your reference is level o. if you go to level 3 then to level 2 you are referencing level 2. Just a guess

try "object property's" for a list of what's available for each thing.

You mean like, what the heck are they doing and ,why can't Scott run all the meetings.

I use a lot of macro's from Joe and Michael, Ruby access has greatly been enhanced since Wendy did her thing. I use them for site plan analysis , window's and doors and headers and have created some of my own for simple tasks. Macro's can be used for everything now. Really saves time

Gable Missing Walls - Cannot produce Roof Plane Going Nutty
DRAWZILLA replied to Skubacb's topic in General Q & A
I could have really used sheep, when I was young. Glad you figured it out, I usually start with the auto roofs, then fix manually, but once you get into it, manually is just as simple. No open country there anymore. -

do you have automatic attic walls on? -
2nd question, is just to adjust the newel posts in the stair DBX to get your 6' spacing then add the full height post manually. Or add another no room def. railing wall and slide it right over the existing railing wall you already show. At this point Chief won't do it automatically . you can also do it using symbols or molding polylines. but I think the first way is the easiest.

I quickly looked at it and I have no problem generating a roof manually. are you trying to do it automatically? try this ink https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02911/message-cannot-produce-a-roof-plane.html?utm_source=Chief+Architect+Premier+19+x64&utm_medium=software&utm_campaign=Resource%3A+faq&utm_content=Error+ID%3A+272009003 -
ok got it fixed. I had to remove the opening and just cut the wall at the opening and make it invisible. here it is back at you. Wise House REMODEL V stair fixed.plan
