  1. LOL, I thought there was a problem with the main house. So for two days I changed everything there. Nope. The problem was with the patio on the right side of the house. I deleted that room and no more complaints!!!!! Now I can move forward since I know it is not a problem with the main home. Only two days for a newbie to catch this. Quitting for the day!!! Again, everyone here is a wonderful help. Just being able to ask and getting a second look is a real aid.
  2. Disneyland, CA. Grew up out there. Rowland Heights. But then I was out in the country. Member of 4H. Raised sheep and cows. Different world now!
  3. Auto rebuild attic walls was on. Turned it off will try again now. Took a little time to find it. EDIT: With it off still get "CBRP" Cannot build roof plane. Guess I will just have to do it all manually but I would sure like to know what is wrong with my walls/plan.
  4. Yes, I was trying automatically. Wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with how I set it up. Very puzzled why I get a hole on the end of each gable. Will go look at the link now. Thanks Edit Yep I read that one. I will save the plan as another and try it. Maybe my ceiling planes are causing a problem. Also, the deck floor is 2" lower than the house 2nd floor (which is default).
  5. Hope I got this right. Just display the current terrain plot plan ONLY. Select everything and delete it. You can then import the new terrain plot plan. If you just want to move the house position in the current plan: I just made poly lines of the house position. Selected the terrain plot plan and moved it around the the polylines. Once in position I deleted the polylines and then displayed the rest of the plan. I am quite new an this may not be the best way or even answer your question.
  6. When I produce a roof in this plan I get: 1. Open space on both gable ends. I.E. areas with no gable wall at all. 2. and the common "Cannot produce a Roof plane" No problem to adjust roof planes so they look right. But cannot figure out what is wrong. Chief says something is in the way. I just cannot figure out what. For two days I have checked alignments, changed pitches, raised roof levels, changed room default heights, changed ceiling planes (both how they are drawn and heights). I continue to get the warning and the missing walls. Another set of eyes on this would be great. Yes, I am a new guy with just over 6 weeks with X9. You guys are really great help. Have no where else to turn. Trying_Anything_for_roof.plan
  7. Thanks. They do work ok and they all have "supplied by foundation room below". I just don't understand why a foundation "room" in a monolithic pour. Oh, well guess I should just let Chief do what it wants. I will try to tell it that the slab is monolithic.
  8. Don't understand this. In defaults I have selected my foundation to be a monolithic slab. With say two rooms Chief X9 makes two foundation rooms and names them the same as the room above. Also, the room are not marked as a monolithic slab. If I change the room type to SLAB Chief wants to turn off auto rebuilding of the foundation. Why aren't they all just called a slab room? Does Chief change anything if they are a slab room or not? Just confused here as to what Chief is doing.
  9. Hi, Thanks for looking at this for me. Since the post I went over all the terrain elevation data. Still the terrain walls don't seem to work as in the tutorials. Tried a different spot on the terrain and still it is odd. I will find land poping up in places. When I rebuild the terrain I can get it to unpop even though Chief says the terrain is current. This had been a problem for me in Home Designer too. I was hoping to get better results with X9. I am now close but not exactly what I want but good enough to press on. Still think it is a glitch to have everything so messed up just because one says to flatten the pad. New at this and obviously don't get it all. Still reading all the tutorials and viewing everything I can get my hands on. Thanks again.
  10. Thanks to everyone for this discussion. Could not get the terrain to act like every other tutorial. Big pits, spiking terrain, terrain would lean away from the basement walls. Designated Flat Regions were not flat. As suggested here I turned off Flatten Pad in the Terrain Specification and the land is against the basement wall. Edit: However, I tried putting in a retaining wall. Rather than a straight wall I get a wall spiking up and down. The terrain spikes up and down and goes much higher than my elevation line specifications. All the tutorials just say put in a retaining wall and they look like a normal wall. Anyone know why the terrain and wall would act like this?? Has someone turned this in as a glitch? Flatten pad should just be the same as a designated flat area but only for the house pad. The way it works now is useless! 7 - Garage Level Modify Plot Elevator Room -9.plan
  11. Ok, thank you. All this time I thought I had done something wrong. Will have to look at that Chief video again to see what I did wrong. But very happy to be moving forward again. Boy is there a bunch of learning to do with this program!!!
  12. Ok, I understand. In a Chief video I followed what they said to do. With all the work drawing the plot layout with the county data and drawing in the elevation lines. I just don't know where to go from here to save and use the data. Edit: Will try the cut copy paste.
  13. I finally tried something. I started a new plan. Lo and behold the convert polyline tool works properly. Some how I have turned it off but have no idea how or where.
  14. Ok, obviously new at this. The polyline stuff is in the layer CAD Detail, Elevation Data or Plot Perimeter. BTW not working on any of the layers. Edit: it is closed. Thank you. 5 - Garage Level add Plot.plan
