  1. Some times the schedules won't fit horiz. on the page, so I just rotate it, works for me. I know I could put them on another page but I would hate to flip pages just to fine out what size window I have. I could also just not have callouts and just use the size but I add a lot of info to the label and until Chief has multi line labels, that's the way it has to be for now. haven't had any complaints yet.
  2. Here is a short video http://screencast.com/t/LAYWOVaeTx
  3. I have the Disto with the built in camera so no matter how much sun , you can zoom in to get an exact measurement. I can also use the camera for outside corners, just stand away from the corner take that measurement to the closest corner, zoom in to the other corner and take a measurement, it will do the calculation to get an exact measurement. At least close enough for me.
  4. You know, I think the cable and phone co's try to keep everyone at a low rate unless you know better and complain. Look what happened to Netflix, they lowered their streaming rate and everyone went nuts, so now Netflix has to pay a higher amount for better streaming or downloading. Too many people at high mbps rates will clog the system so if your a tech wennie , you will be put at the lowest speed unless you pay for faster.
  5. I use the paid version (25 dollars) of Snaggit, they also have a free version. I also send the video's to Screencast for viewing. Very easy to use. http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.html?gclid=CIzsto7HhMECFRRhfgodYqYA9w
  6. Because I don't have the joke talent that Scott does.
  7. Something wrong with yours also. Your in the San Diego area also?? What's going on down there. Rebel against the man. It's a takeover I tell ya.
  8. Scott, you have a problem, I have never seen Cable at your speeds, You need help b/c your paying for the highest speeds
  9. Scott that's what your numbers should look like
  10. Wow, Michael, I couldn't live with that. Try Cable if you can or satellite if possible.
  11. Agree w/ Scott, there are just too many things that we do look at when doing an as-built. like looking in the Attic for structural layout of the existing.
  12. Is that 5.3 mbps, if it is I'm getting 25 mbps on dsl. upload speed is always much slower.
  13. wow. cable is suppose to be 10 times faster than, what I have "DSL". I have no trouble with buffering and the video showed great for me. You might have something else going on, maybe Mac attack
  14. At least Godzilla likes me, but be careful when he want to sit down next to you for afternoon tea.
  15. Nice video, explains it much better.
  16. That wall was broke at one time but re-connected at some point along the way, I'm running into this a lot lately. Thanks
  17. Here is a short video explaining what I think is going on in most cases to create the corner exposed studs http://screencast.com/t/S9NKlbWb0mqG
  18. I have seen the same thing and fixed it by selecting the lower wall and editing a sliver wall that seems to extend all the way to the 2nd floor plate line. Its a very thin wall segment and you have to drag it down to the 1st level. Seems to me a little bug got in with the new update.
  19. I have seen a video you did a while back using Redstick and its pretty slick, you have a nice setup.
  20. Most of the time I have a builder with me as I measure, but I really don't want their help, They can keep the homeowner busy so the HO don't follow me around, watching every move. They usually love all the gadgets I use, like the Disto and the Echo pen that records everything I say and write to my computer. I record every conversation. It has saved my builders, lawsuits. Just the other day a client said they wanted A/C included ( they live by the beach). Now the job is done, they want their A/C and threatened to go to court. I pulled out my audio file sent it to the builder--guess what- they said they didn't want A/C . I also tell each customer they are being recorded so I don't forget anything. They never have a problem with that. Using the program all I have to do is put my curser on any line or note on the page to get the exact audio from when I drew that line or note, easy to find stuff.
  21. You can change the material-pattern lines where Scott says. Then you don't have to change each layout view.
  22. How the *ell do you guys hold all of that stuff, I don't want to use a table and move it from room to room. I'm only there for 1 hour at the most.
