  1. You can also use the "load same" and "select same " tools to do that.
  2. Floor defaults will change existing floors and ceilings.
  3. After 40 years of drawing, I find the most important thing is to save some money for all the "up's and down's" of the business, and not put all your eggs in one basket. Sooner or later even your largest clients might, at any time, go out of business. If that's your only client --,oh oh. Always be honest and never try to hide anything from contractors if they are your client. Their business is a cut-throat business and if you have other competing contractors that you draw for, tell them both the truth, they will find out eventually, anyway you are not anyone's employee. It will just make them more jealous and want to give you more work than the other guy. Always hammer the money!!!! Do not let a client get behind w/ payments, threaten to kill if not
  4. Yes, floor defaults. If you already have a roof, you can delete it or raise the one you already have.
  5. Use your dimensions to move walls, Luke, you won't have to do any Zooming.
  6. Is that an automatic bay or manually built bay?
  7. Turn on grid snaps and adjust to ( I use 1/4") or whatever you want. The reference grid is just for show, I turn that off.
  8. I would just love to get my head around hotkeys. just another thing to think about. Maybe when things slow down.
  9. I have just added this "floor defaults" tool to my toolbar for quick changes
  10. I think I use all of those you have listed, and yes they rock. I think being able to record a string of events is something I could use a lot b/c I'm all in for saving time.
  11. I think Chief has said they don't use Antialiasing at this point
  12. I could be wrong, its been a long time since I set up my anno-sets but aren't the pattern lines adjustable from either the layer set or the material pattern lines. You can also adjust them in the layout box.
  13. The use of Anno-sets makes this a 1 click situation. Set up an anno-set for elevations sent to the layout, turn patterns down, roof planes bigger, windows bigger or however you want.
  14. Are some rooms checked with "no roof over this room"
  15. I just copy the plan to another plan file, lock the walls, and use it as a worksheet Then when you get each different roof the way you want just copy hold ,back to the plan. Manual roof knowledge is a must. That looks like an extra charge to me.
  16. Yes, I knew that, but I just use the PNG b/c there is no PDF. and png seems to work good for attaching to a layoutfor me.
  17. The snipping tool creates a "PNG" file so be sure to make the snip as large as possible on you monitor for the best quality.
  18. For me it's select the text and hold down the "x" key and grab one point and stretch it any way you want,
  19. I like anno-sets b/c that's how I'm set up now, and don't want to change it, now that it works good for me.
  20. If you aren't worried about the materials list, you can just copy and rename the conc. wall material for those walls to furred / drywall, its just a name.
  21. That's what I find to be true for just about everything to do with Chief.
  22. Thanks Ben Too bad, I lived there for many years, my older brothers pitted for A.J. and a few others. I loved to run around the track and gather the goggles they would throw off during a race.
