I like the guessing, it's like playing a tv game show. I know I'm nuts, yes I agree, but just a little

Unwanted Light From Walls And Objects In Raytrace
DRAWZILLA replied to Vendel's topic in General Q & A
you could also put a roof on that but it could be a reflection from a window or lite. -
I can't answer, I'm part of the old guys club

Nuggets are what it's all about. That's the answer your looking for.

Alienware, owned by Dell now, Great for gaming and that's what you need for Chief. I've had mine for many years now, changed out a few parts, added some over the years and still running great, worth the extra price. Never had to call support, ever. You can also build your own system.

oh oh , I smell a video
-
To me it looks like a height, or layer on thing. If it was z-fighting you would see it b/c its larger than the rail top.
-
Oh sorry Ron, you want golf talk?

Bryce, I love that area you live in, nice and cool compared to here. I also grew up in Santa Maria. I might have to move back in the future. I don't know why I left.

I wouldn't even like to go back 2 versions of Chief, let alone hand drafting

Scott is correct, I also use light sources all the time and turn off any fixtures in the plan. RT's go much faster also.

The Terrain is to make sure you have your feet on the ground when installing partitions
-
You might not see it now but its coming, they want you off that old plan and will force you to scrap that old plan.
-
I know Scott did some video's on this a while back and Chief has some also

No easy way that I know about but it can be done, with a lot of workaround work. hopefully in X7.

I would just delete them and re-send to the layout with that unchecked, someone else might have a better way as that has never happened to me.
-
You can create a reference set just like a layerset but you use it for reference only, like showing the second floor walls on the first floor. I use reference sets for just about every plan . foundation, roof , all floors, framing,
-
Put all the interior walls on their own layer and turn off when you need too. I also use a reference set just for site plans, that way you get the 2nd floor roof to show. I don't know how to change the plant size and not the 3d other than making a new cad block that's smaller to associate with it.
-
if this is checked you are sending a new layerset to the layout. I leave this unchecked all the time, in fact I have never checked this.

I have been complaining that it would be nice to be able to copy camera's b/c I'm tired of having to set each one. One way to deal with this is to already have the cameras and sections in you template plan, which is what I do now, it really saves a lot of time for me. If I need a new camera I have to set it up but I have 12 section cameras and 4 elevation cameras and 8 wall cameras saved in the plan and by the way , they are already sent to the layout. Nice time saver.

Just use a callout, put them on their own layer and in the callout DBX, select "Display on all floors"

Here is mine on slow DSL ok for the show but not what I want without going to cable.
