  1. The raytrace is really all about the setup . I do 3 to 5 minute RT's and they are pretty good but I really have never had to wait 21 min. if you have a lot of lights on it does take forever. What I do is turn off all the lights and use light sources in each room as needed. Its all in the setup.
  2. You can use the "country" box or any other box you don't use. I use the country for lot and tract numbers
  3. here is one of them http://www.locklizard.com/pdfsecurity.htm?gclid=CLq43JXwmsECFU1afgodKAwAPw
  4. There are programs that will let you delete a "PDF automatically from their computers on any date you want or you place the "PDF on someone else's server and they have to get permission to download it, it can also be deleted from their computers. You set a date to be deleted, if they haven't paid you by then then its deleted. Not a cheap program though.
  5. Try to put some light sources in that room and lighten up the scene. Those are pretty bad quick RT's. I would put 3 or 4 lite sources in that room. You might not see it then b/c no light reflecting off the cabs. Also see if there is difference using a different door style. I also do crappy 5 min RT's and never seen this.
  6. In the symbol options, when you create it, there are options for inserting into cabinet top.
  7. Barry's good, I have been using him for a while now, fast service, accurate with great prices. I have stopped doing them and use Barry. One less thing to worry about now.
  8. Put your plant on a separate layer, turn it off, but leave plant labels on. You can also adjust the transparency to 100% in the plant DBX. and it won't show in 3d. I don't use a plant schedules so not a problem for me
  9. Thanks again, Joe I'm wondering where any people from Chief are , haven't seen many here lately. I'm sure they must be busy working on all the new goodies to come.
  10. Yes, that works good, I'm just trying to get the numbering like 1-6 on the first floor and 7-15 on the 2nd floor. The second floor starts with 1 again, could get confusing for some people.
  11. What I love about this is that I can also have plan notes on each separate floor on the plan. I wish I could just number the schedule so 1st and second floor didn't have the same numbers to eliminate some confusion. It would also be great to have plan notes on Foundation, Electrical, Framing, and all the other plans.
  12. Too bad we can't add an arrow within the label spec's.
  13. I use it all the time for Electrical.
  14. Joe, the genius just keeps coming. Thank you, sir.
  15. When I save the symbol to my lib. and add it to the "Place lib. object" it won't keep the same layer I saved it with, it always reverts back to furniture interior layer. BTW I saved it in a new plan notes layer so every time I place one ,I have to change the layer to my new layer. Question, did I have to change the symbol layer before I created the symbol? ps even when I copy the symbol it reverts back to the other layer.
  16. Yes, JOE IS THE MAN. Now watch Chief come out with this in X7. like last year with Layout Page labels
  17. Joe, you did it!!!! You are the man. I got to try this one. What's great is that you can save this to your template plan and ----done. You could even pre set-up the notes for those standard things you use every time. Nice!!!!!
  18. Thanks for the tip, Joe, I'm going to set this up right now.
  19. Look at it this way, you can't get permits with chicken scratch anymore means more business for us.
  20. I hope your joking, everyone else was.
  21. In prefences, you can also change the amount of backups you want higher or lower
