  1. Have you tried Chief's built in PDF tool??
  2. I like to use the new wall material region tool for the walls in a shower or tub, then the glass wall stays as is. You can customize the tile any way you want.
  3. I lost my wiz program a couple of years ago and Kerry re-opened his web site and sold a few copies and of course I also needed one.
  4. I agree with Scott, that little program has worked Great. In Windows 8 the program tells you it wont work but it still does. It's the only thing for all those standard garage doors that Chief has never addressed ,ever. I think it covers every standard door available today. I just wish the program was updated for todays windows versions, but it still works with a little TLC. I should try the compatibility mode.
  5. Scott I think defpoints and the zero layers are relics from a previous dwg import in the past, b/c you use the S.A.M. method, they never get erased. I would like to know what that Zero does though. There are a few in the framing section that also don't get a plus sign.
  6. there are several items in the layerset that never get a plus sign.
  7. Nicely said Keith. check the modem, if it's not working correctly or is old get a new one. Happened to me.
  8. Also make sure your auto wall framing is on. You also might want to balloon frame that wall. If the 2 windows are connected, mull them together or you will see the header.
  9. Sometimes arrows still move around for me also, I have just tried to live with it, for now. I think what's going on is sometimes my arrow will attach to something other then what I wanted it to attach to. Like moving a ceiling joists or another hidden object. I also turned off the auto head and tail but it still moves.Don't know why but it has gotten better over the years.
  10. A while back someone posted a symbol of a Volute here, if you don't find it send me an e-mail
  11. I'm in Eastvale, just a few miles from you, I can help you with all the California crap. Send me an E-mail whenever you need help. I just don't have time for a lot of one on one though. Got jobs I have to do.
  12. You can use transparency using a "PNG" type file, convert it to png
  13. That totally depends on your setup in the structure tab of the rooms, make it anything that works for you.
  14. You already have a 3rd floor , so just start drawing walls.
  15. Install the core content. through the lib, tool
  16. At least we now know Multi line can be done within Chief /Ruby. Hosting MNF for the boys tonight but I would rather have multi-line instead. MNF is just a testosterone fest.
  17. Nice Gerry, it sure would be nice to have multi-line notes and labels. I have been using Joe's method lately and seems to work out for my simple mind. I'm not sure I could set up your method. Kudos to you for thinking out of the box. Thanks
  18. I know what you mean by "Fruits and nuts" , never even thought of it that way b/c I also know what we have to put up with when pulling permits. Those guys somehow to always come up with fruity and nutty codes, and give us very unreasonable ordinances and zoning laws to follow.
  19. I'm pretty sure Chief will do that pocket if you put a ridge beam using the roof beam tool and put a post under it in the wall. I do it all the time. If I'm understanding you correctly
  20. Chief won't do it automatically,(I've tried to get Chief to cut the ridge back at the overhangs) but not doing it right now. The only way I know is to make the ridge a p-solid and shape it at the ends, also make the auto ridge "0" height. Maybe X7 will fix it and put ridges and hips on their own layer and cut them at the eaves when needed.
  21. Funny thing is that I read that Rapid mode decreases longevity.
