  1. At least we now know Multi line can be done within Chief /Ruby. Hosting MNF for the boys tonight but I would rather have multi-line instead. MNF is just a testosterone fest.
  2. Nice Gerry, it sure would be nice to have multi-line notes and labels. I have been using Joe's method lately and seems to work out for my simple mind. I'm not sure I could set up your method. Kudos to you for thinking out of the box. Thanks
  3. I know what you mean by "Fruits and nuts" , never even thought of it that way b/c I also know what we have to put up with when pulling permits. Those guys somehow to always come up with fruity and nutty codes, and give us very unreasonable ordinances and zoning laws to follow.
  4. I'm pretty sure Chief will do that pocket if you put a ridge beam using the roof beam tool and put a post under it in the wall. I do it all the time. If I'm understanding you correctly
  5. Chief won't do it automatically,(I've tried to get Chief to cut the ridge back at the overhangs) but not doing it right now. The only way I know is to make the ridge a p-solid and shape it at the ends, also make the auto ridge "0" height. Maybe X7 will fix it and put ridges and hips on their own layer and cut them at the eaves when needed.
  6. Funny thing is that I read that Rapid mode decreases longevity.
  7. You can select the outside room and select room molding p-line then put it on any layer you want. where you don't want the belly band just break that line and un-check molding on this line. A lot faster method for sure.
  8. I'm talking about the placement on floor 1 when you are on floor 2 when on floor 2 a slab will place it on floor 2 where a p-solid from the primitive tool will place it on floor 1 even when you are on floor 2.
  9. Then why are they both listed as p-solids from both category's EDit, ok after further review, one is listed a slab and the other a solid, but they do act differently when placed on a floor.
  10. For all you guys that have to do or have done sun study's--good luck.
  11. I wonder why the p-solid tool acts differently if you pick a p-solid from the toolbar, and if you pick a p-solid from the primitive solids section. From the primitive solids section it always give you the solid located at "(0)" height even if you are on the 2nd floor. From the toolbar, it puts the solid at a 2nd floor height.
  12. Yes , I always use rapid mode b/c I have plenty of memory. There was another reason for trying to get top speed but, I only have SATA 1 so I can't get top speed without changing out my motherboard. If you have SATA 3 you can get there. It's still fast at SATA 1. I'm happy.
  13. Maybe your thinking of the roof plane tools section. its there. Just select a roof plane and it comes up in the edit toolbar.
  14. I'm thinking somehow that may have gotten changed.
  15. Lets keep it going and make it a hot topic, maybe someone will notice. Also p-line labels is needed.
  16. Have you tried this tool, not just brick, it also works for stucco and drywall
  17. Isn't Idaho where Chief is? maybe that's why they don't understand some of the things we need to draw a complete structural plan. It's nuts down here and there are a lot of tools we could use.
  18. Scott's correct, we have been talking about this since Ruby was added to Chief. Many , many posts
  19. Chief has an app called "Room Planner" that will work with that Disto. There is a video floating around here that Chief made available check Youtube.
  20. Kirk, is this kind of thing coming to X7 soon? Just a hint will do. Last year Joe did all this hard work on layout sheet index's and it came out in X6.
  21. Yes, its GB. Friday, fried, fickle, frozen brain day at my house. Ain't I lucky. X7 anxiety, it's Chief's fault.
