  1. I can spin with full shadows on, maybe it's time for an updated video card. Yours seem old to me.
  2. I should have said "Renders" in my posts, I really don't do a lot of raytraces, but when I do they are the fast "Crappy" ones, under 3 min. . I put out a lot of construction doc.s for the building departments and they don't care about pretty pictures. I use some Rt's for the client prelim's only.
  3. What you show is a mirror where you are seeing Glass in the mirror(it seems), but what I'm talking is where you see a mirror in the mirror in rendering mode
  4. I do it a little different, I call it the modified SAM template. I did this video a few years ago. Keep in mind I have got a lot more stuff on the template now, than when I made this video. Like macro's to automate everything, but you get the idea. https://www.screencast.com/t/2AD1ckxAEH7
  5. Never seen that one before, are you sure it's a baseboard and not a floor?
  6. This project has 2 units on the property and the owner wants to connect the two, only problem is the rear unit is 1' off the rear property line. I told them it was a crap shoot but will lay out a prelim plan for them( I never thought the city would go for it). The rear unit was per code when it was built, but not if you try to connect the two into one. Might have to do a tear down to make it work.
  7. Mirrors will also do this , you cannot have mirrors reflecting into other mirrors.
  8. I don't think it matters if you open it from the layout or just open the plan. Try to actually print one out.
  9. YOU MEAN LIKE IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, YOU WOULD THINK THEY SHOULD LET ME KNOW THAT.
  10. Yep, I think the only way is to provide a pony wall (like Joe says) with a railing on top w- a cap on the lower wall.
  11. Just got shot down on one in Long Beach Ca. They seem to have their own rules. It's even zoned for 2 units. Setback problems, so we have to go up to get it done.
  12. I think it has to do with transparency's in the drawing. When I actually print it, it seems to be ok. Sometimes I darken or change the color of some pattern roof and brick lines to black, some are white or light gray and don't print well.
  13. I just put the bumping pushing toolbar by way of the custom toolbars on the screen all the time, you can see instantly if it's on or off.
  14. The only problem is p-solids don't frame
  15. Without the plan it's hard to say what's going on there. Could be a lot of things
  16. Have you tried making that wall" balloon through ceiling". Or the wall abv. go through floor
  17. Video card looks a little weak, it's not Chief
  18. The pony wall with a railing on top could be used for a lot of things, that would sure solve some problems.
  19. I agree, Joe, Chief has worked on Stairs a lot, but there is only so much they can do for each yearly release, but they are getting better with each new release. I can see a future where there is no more complaining about stairs. Maybe if Chief had more time between releases , stairs would be done. Though, I for one actually like the yearly releases, b/c I can get some new goodies faster.
  20. Change it to 10 in the rendering technics options, remember there are two places to change it, one is for just that view and the other is the camera default. 30 is just too much
