  1. That is easily fixed by using an Offset for the Newel/post.
  2. No mucking around with my one. No cheating. All straight forward settings in the wall dbx.
  3. No need for a pony wall. Use a Railing, Solid, Post To Beam. Define the wall without an external layer, only framed main layer and internal lining layer. Build framing. Something like this?
  4. I think that will only work if you use Perpendicular Extensions and have Endpoint snaps toggled on and Angle Snaps toggled off. You also need to create (and maintain while dragging) an extension anchor on the end of the wall before you drag a new wall - and you can't create an extension anchor at any point along the wall - only at snap points like Midpoint and Endpoint. It works, but is a bit more limiting than using an Allowed Angle You don't necessarily need to use the Same Wall Type grip - you can just drag a new wall - but as far as I can tell, you need Resize About set to Wall Center to avoid errors..
  5. Johnny, You can easily add an angle (or many angles) to the Allowed Angles. Use Edit Area to draw a small box around the Off Angle warning triangle, or if that has been deleted, draw the Edit Area box around the centre of the wall that has the angle you want to add to Allowed Angles. Click on the Allowed Angles tool on the Edit toolbar. You will see an Allowed Angles dbx giving you a couple of options. Check the Add 1 Entry option. This will add the angle and you will be able to snap to that angle and + and - 90deg. The above applies if you only select 1 off angle wall. You can also select multiple off angle walls and add them to Additional Angles. I don't seem to need the reciprocal angle on my machine. Of Course, if you only have a couple of items to draw or edit, Make Parallel comes in handy (Make Parallel also makes perpendicular).
  6. There are some in the Bonus Outdoor Sports and Recreation library that may be suitable. The only change I made to these was to change the backboard material to glass.
  7. Let me know if you want me to try things on a mac.
  8. Mark, If you let me know what you want, I can check it on my mac. I thought both mac and windows use forward slashes for folder paths - but I know nothing!
  9. You really need to use Blend With Texture to paint the material with only 1 color the that gives you the result you want. You could use the eye dropper (to select a screen color) from the color chooser or use the RGB values directly. I am on a mac so things may be a bit different, but a similar method would apply.
  10. Possibly the easiest thing to do is to re define the wall definitions so that they have the correct material on the correct wall layer. Changing the wall definition will change every wall of that type in the plan. This, of course, assumes that there is some consistency between the wall types and where the various wall types have been used - I didn't check in that much detail.
  11. The .zip file opens on my mac - it's just an ordinary .zip file. It shows up as Angled Window Recess B.plan in Downloads. I didn't do anything special. Just downloaded the .zip file and it displays as a .plan file in Downloads. You could have a look at this setting which I have toggled on. Open Safari Click Preferences Under the General tab, check the option Open “safe” files after downloading
  12. It's a little bit hidden. Default Settings>Current Floor>Moldings>Selected Profile Specification>Type>select Crown Molding in the drop down box.
  13. Mick, The baseline is sitting on the top of the roof on the left. And yes, you can easily tell by the roof label and/or the baseline direction
  14. Your answer is in the other thread (Suggestions). No need to post in more that 1 forum.
  15. Mick, No big deal. I used a Roof Baseline Polyline, skewed at 45deg to the building. If I am due any prize, I am happy to donate it to a deserving beginner who needs some help.
  16. Mick, What does "totally automatically" mean, is the big question. We have to give Chief some information to be able to build an auto roof - you can't build an auto roof with a blank plan!. The rules I was referring to are the rules imposed by Michael regarding what sort of information we can use to build the auto roof. I will post my plan today if I can (Christmas eave here), but it certainly is different from your approach, and it does use the Auto Rebuild Roofs command.
  17. I deleted groups of objects and tried the zooms after each deletion. It then doesn't take too long to figure out what is causing the problem.
  18. Michael, I will post the plan tomorrow if I get a chance. This is an auto roof using the Auto Rebuild Roofs command. No extra walls or rooms inside or outside. Auto Rebuild Roofs can stay on. No cleaning up afterwards. (I wonder how many rules there are?)
  19. I believe the problem is caused by an errant polysolid being used for a door. It is located on the left hand side of the 4064 door that leads into Kaylah's Kraft Korner. Delete the polysolid and the zoom works as expected. Also...when I try and use Edit Area, I keep getting font replacement error messages - not quite sure what is happening there as the error dbx keeps opening.
  20. Because you are missing a room definition?
  21. I cannot see how selecting the roof plane also selects the baseline. Here are 2 pics - one showing the roof plane selected (the baseline is not selected), and the second pic shows the baseline selected (the roof plane is not selected). I cannot see any other pictures, nor can i get the baseline to be selected by selecting the roof plane. PS, maybe we are talking about cross purposes here. If you select a roof plane and move it, the baseline will move with it. The baseline isn't selected in the traditional sense that it has selection grips like the roof does when it is selected. I guess it depends on what "selected" means. eg, you can't select a roof plane and expect the baseline to be selected for individual editing independent of the roof plane.
