  1. Thanks Michael, but I suspect that it won't be enough.
  2. Johnny, There are options in the Ray Trace Options dbx to control the size and resolution of the Ray Trace, like Use Active Window Size, size, resolution, etc. You can zoom in to any part of the view and only render that bit as a test at any size and resolution you want.
  3. Alan, I think it is the ceiling framing for your room below that is causing the problem. The ceiling height for the New Porch room below is set higher than your roof.
  4. Have a look at your wall definition. You have your "Build Platform to Exterior of Layer" = layer 1, exterior of Insulating Foam Block. This means that the floor platform is building through the wall to the external face of the wall. You need to change your wall definition and adjust the above setting. Is your floor meant to build through the wall?
  5. Michael, I did it both ways. With drag and drop it came in as a free standing symbol. Using the Import method, I could specify it as a door so I can place it in a wall.
  6. Have a good look at the plan and stair settings. It is a curved stair centred with Winders checked.
  7. Have a look here. You may be able to use an Emergency Transfer Password. http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00696/finding-your-emergency-transfer-password.html
  8. Ah, thanks Mark. I went back and changed the file.
  9. Mark, I was working under the restraint that all the risers are on radii from a common point (which I marked on my plan). If you make your stair fill transparent, you can see the difference.
  10. The trick to getting your platform lines the correct height in elevation/section is to draw the line (in a scross section/elevation view) at any height. Open it's dbx and check Lock...Length/Angle. Change the Y position in Start or End Point - changing in one spot will automatically change the other. I usually only do this for Chiefs default zero floor level. I then copy/move more elevation lines as needed.
  11. Yusuf, You can get a similar result using stair sections with the same riser heights and varying tread depths - forming 1 staircase.
  12. Dennis, Maybe a misunderstanding. I thought that you were referring to the math in the dbx being worked on by Chief and I was pointing out that it is available now in X7.
  13. Kelly, Have a look at this. I was able to get the stairs done with Chiefs stair tool. The rails and walls now need cleaning up - I don't know what your requirements are. Catalina stairs amended by Glenn.zip
  14. Well, I'll stick my neck out here and say that I wouldn't bother trying to use ANY method to duplicate that brick look as I think it looks terrible and very unprofessional.
  15. Christina, Can you post some details of the geometry like pitches, heights, radii, sizes, etc?
  16. Bob, This thread my help https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4480-additional-terrain-features-stairs-landings-flat-slabs-etc/?hl=%2Bterrain+%2Bsteps
  17. Yusuf, Those riser heights are not consistent - they vary height with varying terrain slope.
  18. No worries Bob, let me know when you get the new project underway and I'll give you a hand if I can. The next one should be easy!
  19. My answer is similar to Wendy's. I was half way through posting when Wendy posted.
  20. Here is one way: http://screencast.com/t/OCUdR3GYOsC
