  1. Have a good look at the plan and stair settings. It is a curved stair centred with Winders checked.
  2. Have a look here. You may be able to use an Emergency Transfer Password. http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00696/finding-your-emergency-transfer-password.html
  3. Ah, thanks Mark. I went back and changed the file.
  4. Mark, I was working under the restraint that all the risers are on radii from a common point (which I marked on my plan). If you make your stair fill transparent, you can see the difference.
  5. The trick to getting your platform lines the correct height in elevation/section is to draw the line (in a scross section/elevation view) at any height. Open it's dbx and check Lock...Length/Angle. Change the Y position in Start or End Point - changing in one spot will automatically change the other. I usually only do this for Chiefs default zero floor level. I then copy/move more elevation lines as needed.
  6. Yusuf, You can get a similar result using stair sections with the same riser heights and varying tread depths - forming 1 staircase.
  7. Dennis, Maybe a misunderstanding. I thought that you were referring to the math in the dbx being worked on by Chief and I was pointing out that it is available now in X7.
  8. Kelly, Have a look at this. I was able to get the stairs done with Chiefs stair tool. The rails and walls now need cleaning up - I don't know what your requirements are. Catalina stairs amended by Glenn.zip
  9. Well, I'll stick my neck out here and say that I wouldn't bother trying to use ANY method to duplicate that brick look as I think it looks terrible and very unprofessional.
  10. Christina, Can you post some details of the geometry like pitches, heights, radii, sizes, etc?
  11. Bob, This thread my help https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4480-additional-terrain-features-stairs-landings-flat-slabs-etc/?hl=%2Bterrain+%2Bsteps
  12. Yusuf, Those riser heights are not consistent - they vary height with varying terrain slope.
  13. No worries Bob, let me know when you get the new project underway and I'll give you a hand if I can. The next one should be easy!
  14. My answer is similar to Wendy's. I was half way through posting when Wendy posted.
  15. Here is one way: http://screencast.com/t/OCUdR3GYOsC
  16. Bob, I'm glad to see that project underway. You certainly put a lot of effort into the design and documentation.
  17. Hi Perry, No, not on the payroll - I wish. With Chief, I have learnt most things the hard way! I wish they would change this. You turn on all layers and some things get turned off!!! I wanna know,.....- whooooooo's responsible?
  18. Mark, That is not changing the pattern fill that displays in section with Auto Detailing - that is changing the pattern on the objects faces that will display in a vector view. In your Define Material dbx, change your preview from a Standard to Vector view and you will see what I mean. Johnny, You can only show pattern fills that display in section with Auto Detail for structural objects like walls, slabs, floor/ceiling platforms and Material Regions. Cut fills used by the Auto Detail, use the fill style used in the material definition for that object. Additionally you can also specify Insulation (which is not a standard fill pattern) for wall layers (wall definition dbx) and platform layers (Structure definition dbx - Check Auto detail as Insulation) instead of the material fill pattern.
  19. When you turn on all layers, you are turning on the "Walls, Main Layer Only" layer. If you have a brick veneer wall or similar, you will only see the main layer and not the brick veneer layer. To see all your wall layers, this layer needs to be turned off. I think this option needs to be changed and not controlled by a layer - it's not logical.
  20. Johnny, Isn't that the same as Print Preview, but without having to manually place a white sheet? Print Preview is the tool that comes with Chief to do this.
