  2. Use the Slab Footing tool (Build...Wall...Slab Footing) for both the perimeter and central footings. If you draw an enclosed space, you will get the slab and footings including the chamfer
  3. I am not sure if it makes any difference, but do you have Save In Plan checked in the PDF Specification dbx?
  4. Alex, You may be better of making it a symbol rather than a block.
  5. You can "paint" the existing texture with a color in several ways. 1. Use the Material Painter in Blend Colors with Materials mode. 2. Open the materials dbx and on the Texture tab, use Material Color, Blend with Texture. There may be other ways as well, but that will get you going. Note that these methods will only "paint" the existing brick texture - they will not give you a new brick texture with a variety of different brick colors, sizes or patterns.
  6. Does the Auto Adjust Default Glass Properties setting in 3D View Defaults make any difference? Just a stab in the dark.

The Advanced Line Weight Options in the Drawing Sheet Setup dbx are in line with the old Rotring drafting pen sizes. ie, a line weight of 35 is equal to a .35mm pen, a line weight of 70 is equal to a .7mm pen. the Rotring pens were all specified in mm - so that is what Chief uses as it's default units.
  9. If you have a second floor - you have a second floor. No need to build a second floor over the garage. Just go to your second floor and start drawing walls over the garage.
  10. Create your existing terrain in a new plan and convert to a symbol. Bring the symbol back into the main plan on it's own layer.
  11. Rob, Looks like you are using the Breezeway louvres. Make the Sash top and bottom width zero. Frame Top Width zero and Bottom Width 10mm. The 651mm height you specified is the gallery only (no frame) - the gallery then needs to sit in some form of frame. And don't forget that the 151mm is the actual blade size - there is about a 10mm overlap and I am not sure how Chief handles the Louver Size in relation to the overlap.

Scott, As far as I can tell the "join" in the spherical backdrop is always at zero degrees in plan view and this can't be changed. ie, if you generate a 3D camera view, the join in the spherical backdrop is always where zero degrees in plan view would be. The best thing I can suggest is to rotate your plan - this will have the same effect as rotating the backdrop (which we can't do).
  13. Shane, For starters, your floor/ceiling settings on the 2nd and 3rd floor elevators appear to be incorrect. They should probably changed to Default - I assume that would be correct. This is the main cause of the auto roof problems. Change those settings and you will see a huge difference. There is still an error message saying "Cannot Produce a Roof Plane" which I don't have time to troubleshoot now as I am off to bed. If I get time in the morning, I will have another look. This is doing pretty much what Mark was doing in his post - I just narrowed it down to the floor/ceiling settings in the elevators.

  15. Chopsaw, Surf was great. Only small, but glassy and great fun. I was out for a couple of hours.   16. Mike, My guess is that when you are trying to block the poly solids, you are including the lights as well. You can't block the poly solids and the lights together. I would block the poly solids and then block the lights separately. You can then combine those 2 blocks into a single block.
  17. Uncheck "Floor Supplied by the Foundation Room Below" - if you have this checked and if you don't have a foundation, you don't have a floor.
  18. Are the line weights by layer, or by object in the original dwg? That could make a difference.

  20. That looks like it has more to do with the Build Platform to Exterior Of Layer...setting for the wall than anything else.
  21. Johnny, Can you show us a pic of the original mulled windows and what happens when you copy/reflect. It works OK for me in the example I tried, but it would be good to see what isn't working for you.
  22. Steve, I assume you are talking about the shadow in plan view. If you open the Sun Angle Specification dbx you will notice that the Solar Altitude is -10.4°. This means that at 9am at that location, it is before sunrise - and guess what....no shadows before sunrise. You need to change some of your time/date/location settings so that it is during sunlight hours before Chief will generate the shadow. It looks like the sun doesn't rise until between 10am and 10:15 am at that time and location. Don't forget to click "Make Shadow"
  23. I believe it is the "Ignore Top Floor" setting causing the problem. Either delete the second floor or reduce it's ceiling height - you can make it zero if you want. Auto rebuild roofs.
  24. OK, I figured out how to go straight to my unread threads and messages. You need to set up your Categories from the ribbon bar (Show Me, Content Types, Read Status, Ownership, Following, Time Period and Sorting). Once you have done that, you can Save As New Stream and then make that new stream your default (by using the buttons next to the stream name where you can Edit Stream Title, Remove This Stream and Set AS Your Default Stream).
