Anna_Gorres
Hello All, We have the side of a garage facing the front elevation. We are placing a window in the attic for front curb appeal. The only place this window shows up in on the attic floor plan. How do I get it to show on the main level floor plan, or even the roof plan, in order to dimension it. Your help is appreciated! javatom
You could show an attic level floor plan or just note it on the elevation.
Chopsaw
Anna, Javatom's suggestion is likely the correct solution but if you have your reasons it could be done the way you are asking by copying the window down a level and maintaining it's position in the wall by using the same absolute elevation as it was using in the attic wall. Alaskan_Son
Plenty of ways to do this. In addition to the suggestions above, you can also just use your reference display.
Kenoeightspot
Place the window on level 1 then in Elevation view move up to attic.

That to me would be a BIG no-no...the window is displayed on the wrong floor and as sure as I am sitting here, that window will get framed into the first floor wall. I would add a note on the elevation that reads; ATTIC WINDOW xx" X xx" TO BE CENTERED IN ATTIC WALL W/ R.O. PER MFG INSTRUCTIONS. But that me... Kenoeightspot
Both you and I would display the window a different way but the OP wanted it displayed on level 1. I would not display on level 1. Display as it would be built.
Richard_Morrison
Maybe a solution would be to change the layer of the window to a dashed line layer after using William's approach, and then add a note similar to Joey's. Everybody wins. Group hug.
