  1. Yes you have to redo stretch planes every time you make a new symbol. FWIW the wainscot panel symbol took me a bit longer than normal to remember correct origin (have Covid not banging on all cylinders) Still using the door maker plan I've posted in the past; based on using countertops, wasn't longer than I could manage.

  4. Can get the lines using side panel inset with 0 separation for left and right, Side panel inset with 3/4 separations back, false drawer so drawer box doesn't show.
  5. Thought it might be grid snaps but just tested with and 2 plans without that on. Worked as expected as the object was already selected.

  7. Create a fixture interior symbol from a wall cabinet- set option to inserts into Wall. I used a custom shelf symbol set so it won't resize depth. That makes it go to the front edge. Plan with symbols and parts attached. niche plan.zip
  8. Yes I have a 2070S in a laptop and it works. A good bit slower than the 3070. For a desktop I'd listen to Mick and move up to 3000 series, as he notes check space but also check power supply for either.

  11. First off I'm with solver on this, I see no need to dimension to those. End of run and islands I want to dimension aisle clearance, IOW counter to counter or wall. In any case I have one client where this can come up. Make it from a cabinet. You would do it the way the way that cabinet doors can be made. (at least the way I've been doing it forever since most of the brands I carried were not in Chief) Make from a cabinet and keep in library. This eliminates the problem of extra dimensions by locating cabinet doors that Mick mentions. Attached plan goes has a series of cabinets (note these are 35 3/4 high) used to get there. Notes You want to see open the DBX for each, pay attention to the sequence for setting the separations so they match a real door. You will want to uncheck suppress adjacent room molding for that cabinet once done. The wainscot panel used for this is included. For other door styles you will want to make your own. (see post I placed in symbols or maybe tips for making cabinet doors to make those using countertops and molding) Make for wall, base and tall cabinets and keep in library. Or make a style palette for each. Once made you can simply change out the wainscot panels for other door styles. You can also change it to a full overlay gable on the fly-just change the front counter overhang at the same time. (or keep one of each in library Gable plan.zip
  12. A bit tricky yes. First issue is that if you just use that material on a panel it will use it on both sides of the panel. Solution for that is to make a panel with different materials on each side. Look at the solids going from left to right in this plan. As to making a thin glass mesh-On the outside of the building you will find a camera and a solid. This was used to generate an image, exported as PNG (no backdrop). Then converted to a material. Have to adjust the material to get the mesh size. Then apply that material to only one side of an exploded solid. Convert to a cabinet door. Place in cabinet (W24361) look at all the DBX tabs. Convert that cabinet to a cabinet door symbol. There ya go. Was fun :)) Plan with parts and new symbols attached as well as library with material (and image just in case?) Note if there is a problem with the mesh in the middle open dbx, select material, change y offset to 0 if it is not already. Thin embedded screen cabinet door.zip Thin Screen.calibz

  14. Very likely that is not what is happening more likely the sun and or backdrop are overriding the lights. Tilt your camera and you may see that they are on. First two images have same light set and settings- Sun is at 10 and backdrop is at 100. Note that the lights are on. Bottom image has both sun and backdrop at 10. Can see lights and still see sun shadows.
  15. I have ClipMate, I don't use it as often as I used to just the nature of most of my clients. Very powerful tool that does more than just store text. Saves RT, symbols, cad details, tools to clean up text strings...Worth a look.
  16. They don't work because cabinet corners aren't lined up. Not a big, pilot error.
  17. If I had to do this I would only bother to figure out what is the best fit across the faces. Set that then increase depth. I would never bother to try to fit the back into the corner because it's wasted space that can't be reached, unlikely that the corner is perfect, a waste of extra $$. Which leaves how to find the fit. Per attached image- if full overly will need to at least have "zero fillers" on each side, if not available then need to work out filler width so doors work. Else do what Eric suggests if you feel you must.
  18. The only parameter to alter would be the molding vertical offset. If "selected line" is changing on it's own I don't know why. Here are the selected line settings for vertical what I sent you, I simply drew a rectangle and this is what those were. and horizontal
  19. there is no reason to change the selected line. Attached is a metric plan with 3D molding line for you to examin. Offsets are in mm with one to the inside and one to the outside. molding offset.zip
  20. This is a 3D molding line with second molding offset with a wall material region in the center. If you want to convert to a symbol then need a solid in the center instead. Plan attached with a few options if you want to have top bottom spacing not equal to side spacing. Lights- yes there are differences from X12. It looks as if you are using standard view, lights show better in PBR even without ray tracing on (put your computer spec in signature please) Left side shows PBR, right side shows standard.   21. I've got a client that does a lot of closets and one of the designers he uses changes shelf spacing all the time. This is based on what I worked out for that and honest it's becomes faster than the alternative of building the cabinets (especially handling revisions) Verticals are partitions, horizontals are individual 3/4" high cabinets (I used base here but for the closets I use wall cabinets for the shelves since there are items on the floor), the back is a wall material region. Set all of these in the default first if you have more than a few to do. Use transform replicate to copy and move shelves. You can then dimension to them. Only down side is needing to suppress the shelf thickness (which I don't need to do for the closets but you can do that all at once in the dimension DBX If there are a lot of these or something done often then you can set up style palettes for shelves at different heights.   22. an alternative to making the throw - back clipped section, draw guide line at center, polyline, start to add a few points, change lines to curves, copy and reflect, polyline union, if you still have a line on the bottom disconnect and delete. Convert polyline to 3D molding line, set molding height and depth. An advantage being if it's a little off you can adjust thickness, offset of molding and or height.
  23. Search for EULA in help turns up exactly the same language regarding transfer in X12,13, and 14. It would appear that what has changed is what they are willing to approve NOT in the language.
