Use two cabinets- one with side as opening, overlap them a bit.

If you need the look of having a door frame on the face then make a door symbol from a shelf, change Y origin so it can be inserted into the back of the cabinet.

There is a difference if you work primarily from the User Catalog as the OP does, and I do. When accessing the library from a DBX in X14 and you have a saved filter in use that filter applied. Image below the User Filter was on prior to opening DBX There is a down side to that if you don't know how the filters work -if the object currently listed in the DBX is not found with the filter on you won't see it. I suppose this could be a problem for some newbies? X15- the saved filter is dropped completely in favor of what the program has decided for you, your saved filters are not accessible in that DBX all of which leaves you to rummage around or use the start clicking your way in the search.

No idea why other than it said there was a problem importing one entity, was not imported. In a Cad Detail for you. imported cad.plan

Like Robert suggests but if you want to be a bit more precise... After placing light on floor below.... Take a back clipped section through the side and a 3d cutaway so you can see directly. Set them up side to side so you see both. Transform replicate to get the light in the general area but below the ceiling you want. Get the position left to right and front to back in the space ( in floor plan using reference display) Go to section Measure the angle of the stairs/ceiling. Open light symbol rotate on the X axis 90 so it is vertical click ok (easier to use the angle you measured.) Then open symbol again, rotate x axis again this time using the angle you measured (in the case of what I show it was Minus the angle. Use tape measure tool to see how far the edge is from the ceiling Transform replicate to move the light on the Z axis using the dimension you measured.

I started with a cabinet, but you can also just make a custom counter. Add molding, remove from edges where not wanted. Did not have a quick oval drop that inserted to dropped in plan, altered size. Added ellipse, shaped to match tub, used that to make hole in counter. Move tub Should add I adjusted tub a smidge. curved tub.plan

Use a countertop instead. Add the molding, adjust position, remove from selected edge anywhere you don't want the molding.

On Bain site click professionals tab, technical tools, go to BIMobject Cloud. will take you here Create a free account. For that tub they have rfa (Revit) symbol. Download that then the options are: Install trial version of Revit light, or rent Revit light by the month. Last I knew you can rent by the month, then stop and re-activate later. It's been a while since I did that so check. Once you have the RFA file open you can export it, more info and a link to supported file types

FWIW I went to site to look into just hacking the lavatory faucet which I've done with others.

I can make all the labels show by group selecting cabinets, unchecking Suppress label. Then in schedule checking use label. However I can't get callouts to show no matter if I try to "use both label and callout" or just "use callout". Unless @Dermot has a solution for that I'd send it in- I'm not having the same issue on any plans I have either brought forward or new.

You have "Suppress Label' Checked in all of your cabinets.

Open Help, go down to What's New in Chief Architect X15- New and Improved by chapter. That's likely everything.

Once a new filter is saved....

Another reason is- multiple select folders- in say the user library, in X14, right click, search folders, type search term. Results are limited to those folders. X15- multi select folders, go to search window, type term, result are from entire library. I you have a saved filter to exclude all but the user library then results are from anywhere in the user library but not limited to the specified folders.

Does not always work. Have had this since X14.

I suppose that there might be occasions that I need to do that, rarely. I keep a library folder for each client. There are subfolders for specific types of items AND there are subfolders for every project I have ever worked on for them going back several years. I work for a limited number of repeat clients. When I'm working on a project for Sadie I add spaces to the front of her folder so it ends up at the top of the user library. Most often if I need to search for something on a project for Sadie I'm already at the folder. What's more what I want is very likely in a past project in that folder. No need to click around all over the place. Another part of my work flow is for each project all defaults, and likely options for same, are in a single folder within the project folder. When changing defaults Chief will open to that folder- no clicking around or searching all over. It's why I want to keep "duplicate folder" instead of just using copy and paste (which I also use) Duplicate allows me to duplicate a subfolder from a client project, drag the dupe up to the current project, rename and perhaps delete what is not needed now. It's just faster, simpler.

I want to specify and existing folder in the user library to place it. I'd also like to have it use a name from the symbol- not simply molding or base cabinet that has to be renamed. I dislike the built in web search which can thankfully be turned off. Got around that adding a shortcut in a start menu folder so I have a system wide hot key to take me to the site. My first reaction was oh good new library, finally. I spent a few days with it before deciding. It may well work for some folks, I'm not one of them. At least as it is now.

Well yes and no- there have been requests in the past to update the library. I'm not sure just how much of this was determined by user requests or input. I know that the two things I wanted are not here: 1-allow selection of sub folder in user library when creating a new symbol 2- allow saved filters to include/exclude MULTIPLE selection of sub folders in user library. 3 - allow LB, ALDO, and PB to be tabbed when moved to a second screen (if this is possible tell me how?) ' Things lost from 14 I'd like back A- right click folder and "search folder" B- right click Duplicate folder C- keep selected user defined saved filter between close and re-open New things I'd like to see a bit different than what we have now Save Filters off state between open and close Get back some real estate- at the very least move the 4 new icons at top of preview to the bottom where other icons live I like the grid view toggle. You need to use a door symbol that has separate materials for the panel and the door. Usually one that could accept a glass panel. Here is one in Chief library.

Place the symbol in plan or copy to your user library, open symbol. The Y origin controls where the symbol sits. Most of them are set to be proud. Change the Y origin so that it sits at the very front of the drawer face. NOTE- Depending on which warming drawer symbol you are working with and what size you need you may need to change the size and or change the stretch planes so you can also change the size. If you did this in plan add to library, or if already in library just use it. Might want to rename it for future use.
