-
enter the system requirements for CA CA's requirements are considered "minimum" always aim higher if you want a PC that can last 3-5 years Lew

I still think we shouldn't have to mess with these settings unless we want/need to ... I haven't tried Glenn's suggestions yet too busy trying to finalize my Foundation paperwork and get the website ready Lew
-
Larry: this may help: http://mirkostrade10.sydneyinstitute.wikispaces.net/file/view/Drawing+Longitudinal+%26+Cross+Sections.pdf Lew

You could always tell Chief that you are at the equator. yep, but I would prefer that Chief be this way OOB I can't remember if the sun settings are defaults or preferences a newbie or someone who doesn't care about shadows and shade shouldn't have to worry or mess with those settings Lew
-
It would be nice if OOB Chief would default the sun angle, direction etc to the camera angle we should only have to mess with the sun when we want that realism for basic renders I just want "LET THERE BE LIGHT" ... Lew

David: just curious - roofs and framing are NOT my forte... could one clone the building, set roof pitch to 4:12, build the framing then copy that framing to the original plan ? Lew

is it worth making a "Suggestion"? Larry: if you want it then it is worth making the suggestion why let others chose what suggestions you should make ? Lew -
Christopher: probably best to contact CA's tech support if there are issues with Chief they would like to know about it and they may have a solution Lew

lbuttery replied to J_Ward's topic in General Q & A
Scott: Dropbox would work fine - until you decide to use something else maybe a better offer - maybe better features - maybe they raise rates maybe they tick you off Chief has them in the library - it should all the pieces/parts so nothing gets lost Lew -

It would be nice if once they are added to the library they should be independent of the original location Lew -

Roof is screwed up after ceiling height changes

I have stated many times that HD PRO is a mis-nomer while it is quite capable since it does have manual tools it leads users to think the can run a business if it is a "tiny" business then maybe however, it encourages them to hope for the best when they should be trying Chief Premier if they are serious about being in business CA is cutting into Premier sales instead HD PRO should be named master or delxuxe or.... the other HD titles are aimed at light DIY users who are "playing" around Lew -
way back CA did recommend the Quadro cards but for a short period then they stated they offered no benefit in relation to their cost if you have CAD software then the Quadro cards may offer a benefit to match their cost I almost bought one back then but delayed and then CA changed their recommendation Lew

you can place a polyline solid for the doorway then crop a photo and use the photo as a material with "stretch to fit" and it should look like the door it will rotate etc in 3D also Lew
-
this has been an issue since I started in 2004 with ver 9.5 you would think that CA could have fixed it by now Lew
