  1. You are the man Rene! The width is available for a text with a grid and for a text box without a grid (at the same time). This allows me to reset many text box widths at once. Thank you!!
  2. press record first, wait a few seconds, then spin, then stop, wait a few seconds then stop recording.
  3. Depending on what you've figured out, there are probably much faster ways. Especially if you figured out to use Chief's Orbital Walkthrough Path. I prefer to setup a camera view so the focal point is pretty close to the center of the entire model. Then rotate the camera using 'ctrl-alt-s'. You can simply press 's' to stop the rotation. Adjust the location and rotation speed of the camera. Rotate to a nice starting view. Using the walkthrough tools, press record. Then rotate the camera. Press 's' to stop. Wait a couple of seconds before stopping the recording.
  4. I always place these type of appliances as free standing symbols. I prefer the control of having them separate from the cabinet...because they are. For this scenario, you'll need to adjust the symbol's 3d offsets (all to zero). I use a saved customized cabinet for the dishwasher. There are of course, other ways. Same idea for built-in ovens.
  5. Using X14, any standard text box that is using a grid to create a table now seem subject to different sizing parameters. I can now only resize the width of these text tables in approx. 3" increments (for 4" tall text). This means they no longer align on one edge (usually the right side) with other stacked text items used in various notes. Does anyone know if there is any sort of setting to allow more refined adjustment of the width of text tables? I've attached a sample plan. text width issue x14.plan
  6. @rgardner I appreciate you posting that, Ryan! I definitely gave it several attempts but I'm SOL so far!
  7. As for tools, mine are pretty stripped down. Awhile back I customized to remove tools that I rarely use. I'm happy using the tool palette. I have several different configurations setup but I rarely need to switch to them. I prefer the real estate for working.
  8. For a few days last week this was working for me...I have no idea why. Now X14 is back to the OOB window sizes, except for the Tool Palette window. If I resize it, Chief remembers.

    X14

Safe...but for me it hasn't been a good experience for productivity. If I could go back I would be still be using X13. Obviously I can't say that you would experience the same performance issues I have, but finding out the hard way sucks. I'd recommend making a copy of a complete recent plan and layout file, and exploring it in X14 to see if you notice any issues.
  10. I can tell you from my experience that Chief X14 has problems with some fonts. I have reported some issues to TS and they are aware of some. It would be great if you reported this to TS.
  11. Obvious question, does everyone have the correct font installed on their computers? Is it a CAD block? Rich Text? Standard Text? Is the text in the layout file or the plan file?
  12. Check your wall definition. Masonry type materials create a brick ledge everytime a different material is selected for that wall type. Please post the plan for accurate help. And it's helpful to post images with lines on (Vector View, or Standard with a line drawing on top).
  13. You can select the camera and drag it to extend it. Once it is selected and extended, you can press '3' to create a break in the line.
  14. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a compatibility issue between X14 and Nvidia. Didn't we have the same problem with X13 until a specific nvidia driver was released that fixed the performance issue?
  15. Make sure you use the walkthrough tool. Drag the line onto the beginning of the stairs and it will automatically create and extend the walkthrough path on the floor above.
  16. Many of us are! Personally, after my visits with Tech Support, and my experience with Chief X13, I think it's some type of compatibility problem between Nvidia and Chief X14. This same crap happened with X13 and it took quite awhile for a solution. If I remember correctly, Nvidia released a driver update that corrected the performance issues. I currently still have no performance issues with X13, however X14 is killing my business at the worst possible time. The lag gets worse the longer a file is open. Once Chief slows down too much, then I save and close everything and restart. That seems to improves performance for a couple of hours.
  17. It's worse than annoying. It's an absolute PITA. Please report it TS!
  18. @HomesByDesign I think we're on the same page. The pass through is used simply for the jamb and the interior / exterior casing. The mulled windows should have a reduced frame depth, around 3'-4". See attached plan. mulled window.planmulled window.plan mulled window.plan
  19. Google sheets, man! That's the way to go IMO.
  20. Press export, then save the file. Then import it into your favorite spreadsheet software.
  21. I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to model, but if you want to get rid of the mullion completely,I think the simplest is to add a pass-through the size of the mulled unit and center it on the mulled unit.
