If it were me, I would free up space on my "C" drive so nothing in the installation of Chief would have to be changed. Seems like asking for problems.

"automatic build as much as possible". Yes, it has been mentioned many times that an auto built roof is a good starting place, then manually fix as needed. You're talking about a very short time to manually fix it. Auto roofs don't always do what you want as you're finding out.

Add to Library vs. Add to Library as Stacked Molding
tommy1 replied to kwhitt's topic in General Q & A
Great answer Mark. Trial and error is a great teacher. -
No they don't and I don't think they ever did. I remember talking about this many years ago in the previous forum.
-
You are right. Custom handle.
-
Not sure what's going on, it seems to be working fine for me. Not having that problem.

I agree with Glenn. Why not just download the DWG file and save it, then just import it into Chief. That's what I do. No problems.

Latest version 21.3.1.1x64 Slower and have had some crashes?

Sounds like a lot of electrical issues. Thankfully no crashes. I probably shouldn't say that though. -

The only slow down I've noticed is placing electrical items. There's about a 4 to 5 second delay when placing. Nothing else is slower. -

Don, I haven't noticed anything running slower or at least slow enough to catch my attention. Can you be a little more specific on what's going slower? As mentioned, I'll be watching the program a little closer today. -

So far absolutely no issues with X11 after latest update. Measured a new job yesterday and will start putting it into Chief today. I'll see if I have any crashes. -
Bob, this is what I do and never have a problem. Go to catalog downloads from Chief's website. Down load the library and save it to my downloads folder on my laptop. Open X11 and go to Library>import library .calibz> look for the library I downloaded >select it>hit okay. Should bring it inti your X11 library.

Anyone else experiencing program crashes on the new update

Not yet. -
Have you tried to select the cabinet with the sink>tab until the sink is selected> open the sink and try to set transparency to the cad block?

Check to see if attic walls are turned on in the camera view.

I agree with you Ben. I get nervous about changing the program. I don't need a messed up program. Too busy. I just won't use that feature which could cause major slow-downs. I like you don't need to use it right now. Hope it's fixed soon...I mean FAST.
-
Great find Ben. This is a huge problem and can really mess up a plan fast. Chief please fix ASAP! Just tried it and not good.

Rich text has always been like this. Forget about multi-selecting rich text for editing.
-
Here's what I use. I made these several versions ago and have these two symbols in my library. Not perfect but does the job. I changed the cad block for plan views.
-
Rob, you can open the layout you show in your posted layout image and look at the referenced files for that layout. That might give you a clue on how to fix it.
-
In the project folder, be sure all associated files such as plan files, layout file, images, etc. that are linked to the layout are in that folder. You really don't need a folder within the project folder.

Gable end attic wall need to project over lower wall.
tommy1 replied to ckirste's topic in General Q & A
Cait, in your 1st picture that also shows the scaffolding, I can see the joists. This means that the attic wall is cantilevered over the lower wall. Easiest way to do this is to create a 2nd floor (defined as attic) so you have room definition and just move the wall out as needed. This will make it work fine in 3D. -
model intersection of rake molding and gutter

Wow, I don't hear that very much but I do the same. It shows detail better. -
If your using David's method and your not seeing they trey (soffit), then check the height of the ceiling in relation to the height of the soffit. Also be sure you have cabinet soffits turned on in the layer display.
