I think it is the yellow roof and the light blue that is not working... but if works for you..... try eliminating the fireplace chimney and see what you get when you auto frame the roof

I think the roof is correct based on the pitch you are doing and the location of roof bases lines..... with the exception of the area shown in attached pic.

What I do not understand is why every house does not come with an owner's manual which would include a floor plan. I get an owner's manual with my $8.00 package of Triple AAA Batteries, I get an owner's manual with my $80.00 Stanley Fat Max Tape, I get an owner's manual with my $8,000.00 Vit-a-mix, why doesn't my $80,000.00 house come with an owner's manual?

Great comment, there was a thread not too long ago that was requesting that if we changed the layer visibly for what ever reason, it would not save the changes therefore not effecting what is in LAYOUT. Great question, another example of why we need the option to leave the layer sets as is while we are futzing with things.

Hence the need for a PLOT PLAN LAYER SET "WORK SET", turn off layers will nilly in the "WORK SET" and it will not effect the PLOT PLAN LAYER SET which is the set the layout is using.

You know, if you would post a small plan proving your method works would be a great help to all of us....... think about it...... how do you get the curved brick arch while maintaining the flat top window. Try it David, show me how to do it in a small plan and I will bow down to your greatness.

I agree.... however until they fix this, doesn't it help to put in a space or two at the end of text? I know, should not be needed, but this is an option until it gets fixed in the year 2026, the year of my retirement.

If you are talking to me, my apologizies, my answer was given before I opened plan. If we are communicating correctly, I think I see the issue. This is weird and something I first noticed a couple of weeks ago. Let me see if I can explain it... BTW..... I can correct it quicker than I can explain the issue here.... but here is my observation..... I think the stem wall height will follow the default IF YOU ARE MAKING THE STEM WALL HEIGHTS TALLER... however, if you are making the stem wall shorter, you must open the room and set them stem wall height manually (not good). If you have only one room you are adjusting, easy peasy, if there are multiple rooms that need to be adjusted, it takes a bit longer because every room must be selected. One of those things that is tough to explain and probably best to show the behavior in a GTM to ensure we are talking about the same thing. I do not think it is a corrupt file, but an inconsistent behavior by CA.

Listen to the solver....... and you can change by a room by room basis which should override "The Solver's" solution if you so desire.

Why? Do you think the sub contractors care about the AIBD order? There are (3) things where I buck the system: 1: The score of the game should precede the team name 2: Right handed people should use the mouse in their left hand (and vice versa) 3: The AIBD should scrap their system and use the DSHD system I have an order that makes a lot of sense to me for a number of reasons - Site Plan - Site/BMP Plan - Site/Landscape Plan - Elevations and roof plan - Demo Plan - Proposed Plan - Cabinet Plan and elevations - Building Sections - Framing over 2nd floor - Framing over 1st Floor - Foundation plan - Details unless they can fit on the structural plans - Electrical/MEP Plans - Standard Note P{ages - Title-24 pages it's like peeling an onion, start from the overview and slowly strip layer away until you get to the core Maybe you guys disagree with my approach and would prefer the AIBD guidelines, but you can't argue with me that the score should come before the team name when reading box scores. -
I think a railing workshop would be very helpful. However, before I schedule it, I would like to make sure GW can join us. Glenn, would you be interested and if so, I would like to do a skype session with you prior to the workshop to review a couple of things that have bugged me. Glenn, could we do a skype session, just the two of us, Friday sept 23rd at 4:00 pm pst which would be Saturday Sept. 24rth at 9:00 am oz time? If I can get together with Glenn, I will try to schedule a workshop next week. I think talking about stair railings and deck railings and balcony railings could be a good topic. I will announce in a separate thread.

Holy Karoly........ deck railing would be a great subject for a workshop. For some reason, I still do not have it dialed in correctly. If you guys are up for a railing workshop, let me know and I will plan on it. I have a feeling this would be a great workshop. BTW, I have resorted to doing all of this stuff manually. It does not take too long and it gives me complete control over column insets and railing locations. I have a feeling GW and I will have some heated debates over the best method.

Wow, Glenn has probably given you some good advice, this guy has never been wrong except when he suggested I order the halibut instead of the sea bass. Post your plan if you want an answer you can use......... I can't believe he recommended the halibut in lieu of sea bass. -

That is a great point. I suppose what I started doing years ago is when I do a DETAIL FROM VIEW, it is a detail only of walls and windows and doors etc. So I take that detail, copy and paste in plan, put on it's own layer......... AND THEN........ I take the as built and start doing some save as's to create the DEMO FILE and the PROPOSED FILE......... the point is...... now if the toilet per your example is going to be removed, I select and put on THE DEMO LAYER which is a dashed line layer........ I DO NOT DELETE THE TOILET ANYMORE, I SIMPLE PUT IT ON THE DEMO LAYER, which is a dashed layer, if the client changes their mind and wants to keep toilet, I then put on default layer. Thanks for bringing this up Joey, I know what you are talking about in regards to the "funky toilet lines", but as I just stated, my toilets are no longer part of a CAD DETAIL. WOW, I forgot that somehow I stumbled into the method I just described....... If anybody does not understand the method, let me know and I will do a vid.

I must be getting old. I know the program and I do not understand how to do what you just described. If they are blocks, open up the block and either select BY BLOCK or BY LAYER, essentially what Joey was trying to say. But that is cumbersome, get rid of the blocks, IOW don't block them, take the cad to view detail, copy, and paste in the working plan and p lace on their own layer, the layer will now define the line weight and the line style....... fixtures in cabs need to be deleted and a cad line needs to be used, i.e. sinks. I think there have been dozens of vids on the methods to do as built plans.

Geez,I have to test this........ Hmmmmmm...... Downside? Can't think of a downside...... I suppose the rooms need to be kept otherwise you lose the stepped footings.
