    Jon should get the point. I was thinking that if you have auto update auto ext dimensions on, you cannot change them without turning off auto update dimensions. And since I leave auto update dimensions on all the time, it is a problem to edit auto dimensions unless they are on a different layer. It was I that misunderstood the issue. I will give Jon a point because he taught me the same thing a while back.

    Yes I will start doing this. As I watch Judge Judy, I am playing on my IPAD going from site to site, I will now make it a point to go to these Facebook pages and drop the CHIEF ARCHITECT name. If it helps you guys out, then by association it will help me out. Give me a few days to do this.....

    And the answer is........ drum roll please........ group select dimensions and put them on their own layer and you can edit them until you heart is content. I do this all the time. Auto dimension and then put dimensions on FLOOR PLAN DIMENSIONS LAYER, or FOUNDATION DIMENSIONS LAYER etc. Hey, do I get a bonus point for this answer? mumble mumble..... I hope I understood the question correctly.

    I am not sure of your question.. I do not think I am having problems formatting macro. I do like it showing two different ceiling heights, but I am not sure I like they included the stairwell, seems confusing.

    I doubt there is a macro for wall height. That would be a tall order.

    I just updated to latest version. I use a macro for the ceiling heigh in a room. What happens where there are two ceiling height to to soffits or open to above spaces or..... I think this pic is for the stairwell space. My ceilings are 138" by default, but check out the 151" ceiling ht. Look at the Living room and look at the Dining room... Interesting, I think this is a good thing for open to above spaces, but I do not think this is being used here very well.

    I do not know why that file is so big. The symbols have relatively few faces. Anybody know why the file is 8.98 mb's?

    Would you call that passive/agressive behavior? I agree with you Richard, let's cover each other's back because we all make many mistakes in our job, and our mistakes can be expensive, so let's help out an associate.

    Love it love it love it, thanks JC, the sooner we get this minutia out of the way, the sooner you will be a viable contributor to the forum. Nice job Joey, stick at it until the issue is resolved.

    In my mind it is very important. I set it about 10 years ago and I forget it....... unfortunately I relocated my office 2 years ago so the next few plans had the wrong info until I changed it....... this stuff is no brainer stuff..... I do not know where the confusion is..... it is inputted in your template plan, if you do not have a template plan then you will have to input the stuff for every new job.

    Which reminds me, in the last release or so, we can now specify the number of hinges.

    Okay, but I would rather my walls be solid and my rail be a white fill. I think that is typically how it is done.

    How do I know which one is live and which one is Memorex? You forgot to put hinges on your door. Very very nice!

    That is clever, however if you put those windows in a room, suddenly you lose the corner glass and there is a post in the corner. The solution to that would be to put a room on the other side of the window, and now what window is not an exterior window but a window on the inside of a house and it will again behave properly. The attached pic shows what happens when you complete the house so the window is inside a room. Yusuf had simply put two walls together. BTW, the room outside the window was a tip I learned from John Jones of CA, thank to him for that.

    Yea, but it too is not totally correct because it will show the wall finish (double line at each side of wall).

    That's it, if it is a solid wall you get the wall fill in plan.... not what I want.... but if I do balusters I get a white fill on my railing in plan view. I finally get it..... but it ain't right..... I don't care what my railing is.... open, closed, with balusters..... I don't care.... I should get a non-filled wall. This is very Important to understand.... we must choose a wall type with several layers for situations where the ballister railing/solid railing is actually the edge of a floor platform. Thanks Racklamore, I finally understand what changes the plan view of the railing and the way it is set up now is wrong.

    Hey Graham, never lose the humor, we need more of it here. In regards to what did not work for me, the plan view was not what I would like to see. If you can compare the plan view using P's solution and your solution, they are different and I like P's plan view solution.
