  1. I suspect the component you need really should have a piece removed that would interfere with the cabinets. So to combine the best of both of Robert's ideas I would start with an accurate CAD profile drawn in elevation view and snap a face into that CAD profile and use the Revolve Object tool to rotate it 180°. Then you have a solid that can be further refined using boolean operations. Such as Solid Subtraction to cut out the unwanted underside.
  2. Looks like you may have two separate entries for the Super B paper size. If they are not Identical it could mess things up.
  3. Walls would be the most practical but you could just use a painted polyline solid if you don't want any extra walls on your floor plan. You can even use polyline solids if you want further control of the background seen from a window by applying a scenery picture to the polyline solid.
  4. Also working fine for me. Currently testing driver v. 398.36 All default Control Panel settings. Are you running dual 1070's ?
  5. Pedro, I made a manual auto return for you to see on the attached plan. If this does not "stick" you will need to make a complete manual molding line as describe above. And if you need to accurately model and angle cut that is a whole different story but doable. Like a lot of things in chief this is sort of an all or nothing situation where you need to decide up front what your goals are and what method will work to achieve those goals. Plot3V7 Chopped.plan
  6. Pedro I see you are not sleeping. To draw a manual eaves trough if you are having issues with the auto one sticking. Go to Build > Trim > Molding Line, and draw line in plan view, apply your custom profile from the user library and set elevation using Vertical offset.
  7. Could be template specific. Also I have been getting the "do you use a cloud service" question right off the top from tech support a lot recently. My answer is NO not for Chief.
  8. Did you turn off "Auto Rebuild Walls/Floors/Ceilings" in 3D View Defaults ? Or was there some other hack when using a huge plan file. I think when that is working is when the gutters rebuild.
  9. Mick. Do you ever have issues with gutters auto regenerating when unlocked and edited? Perry seems to have sent in as bug but no fix yet.
  10. Sorry that part is in the Build Roof DBX under the Options tab > Supply > "Gutter" or in each roof plane DBX but you may have to use a manual molding line from the sounds of the situation as auto ones seem too keep regenerating on their own if you edit or delete.
  11. You are an ambitious fella Pedro. You will make a very good operator in short order if you keep this up. You can set a default gutter or even draw a custom gutter similar to the way you did in cad in your Roof Defaults > Gutter. Chief will take care of the mitre for you without worry.
  12. Likely won't work if they are from a different computer.
  13. I have had relatively good success using .png files. Should be pretty good if you start with a vector PDF.
  14. Draw it in elevation view and you should be good.
  15. Yes you can set them in Plan Defaults. 3D View Defaults > Rendering Techniques > Watercolor. Or save a camera in your template.
  16. This should help : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02945/designing-cabinet-fronts.html Also plenty of others here : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/database.html
  17. Would need to know if the posted plan file is the original and the exact nature of the required edits to figure it out for sure.
  18. Sorry I was off duty for a bit there but this may help for next time if the renumbering is happening because your edits are making some windows match other existing ones. Turning it off that is by deselecting it. Not as pictured
  19. Does it help if you deselect "Group Similar Objects" ?
  20. I made a video a while back on creating an almost perfectly round roof. Forgot to record the sound but may be helpful.
  21. Nice looking project. A roof plane is a polyline so it can be trimmed with polyline subtraction. Just create a polyline solid the shape of what needs to be trimmed and preform the boolean subtraction.
  22. Hi Pedro, Looking Good, You will need a manual roof plane for that situation. I made a quick video for you. Sorry I forgot about the 4". Open the roof plane and lock the pitch and then add 4 to the baseline height and turn the fascias back on. Also helps to have the "Roofs, Baselines" layer turned on when drawing manual roof planes so you have the direction indicator as shown in video.
  23. Pedro, My apologies if I missed it but is this an existing building you are modeling ? Typically the best approach is to make as many adjustments and come as close as you can with auto framing turned on until you reach a point where you must turn it off and edit manually. Unfortunately the learning curve is steep for both knowing how to set up the auto framing the way you want it and then finishing with manual editing. For the roof auto frame members can be copied and edited or repurposed depending on what you need to do. In extreme situations sometimes only a solid will work but there are many other options to try before resorting to that. You can frame outside of a wall detail in extreme situations but don't try that with trusses or you will be in a mess in a hurry.
