  1. It only seems to come into play if you have a fascia board and if necessary you could compensate by using the profile extension setting. Sorry it is the sub fascia that is causing the issue and yes that might be worth submitting to see what sort of comment you might get.
  2. Would need to play a little more but it seems the custom profile orients itself starting from the bottom tip. Some profiles might work ok that way but the majority of typical profiles seem to work out better with the square cut setting. May be a documentation deficiency but have not checked that either.
  3. Set your Rafters to Square Cut and let me know if that fixes it.
  4. Separate the hinge with the Delete Surfaces tool or export to Sketchup and use their tools.
  5. Except that it would be really nice if a box had a label. Sorry wrong forum.
  6. I must be overlooking something simple. Is there not an easy way have a rectangular polyline report it's dimensions as it's label ?

    Symbols

I was originally thinking just the plants as that was what was giving you the issues. However if you were to abandon the symbol idea altogether, you could move everything to the new plan if it did not conflict with other things you have going on.
  8. You may be able to do the whole thing if you pre-bend the end section.
  9. Looks to me that the base is level ? You should be able to make the entire straight section into a symbol and rotate it. The issue will be at the corner you will likely get a gap that you will need to find a creative solution for or you could do the entire wall and end up with a clean connection and some distortion at the end. You might be able to do the math and predict what will happen or just give it a try and see.

    Symbols

All of your plant seem to be Plant Images ( 2D ). You could use 3D plants but that creates issues as well with your surface count. If you keep your origin and elevation consistent in the other plan file you should be able to copy and paste them over to the new plan. Or calculate the differential of the new plan and move with Transform and Replicate.
  11. Unfortunately you would need to add general framing members to show that in 3D. It does not seem to be standardized enough for chief to include it.
  12. Since you are using X11 how about building the retaining wall and then converting to symbol to rotate. Just leave the original in place on a layer that you can turn on and off in case you need to edit.
  13. You should be able to reorganize the schedule after you finish your revisions. Just select the schedule and grab the control handle in the Number Box and slide it back to position 13.
  14. Not sure how you work but check other floors or maybe a cad detail is an easy place to forget about.
  15. Almost certainly a duplicate schedule somewhere that you have lost track of.
  16. Yes if you are printing from layout ? Your Page 0 Drawing Sheet Setup should be set to 1" = 1" for Drawing Scale. Does your home system measure up to your work computer for memory specifications ? You can always post your file before pulling all of your hair out and possibly someone will recognize the problem and be able to help or at least see if it behaves the same on another known system and installation.
  17. Bob, The only time that has happened to me is when the scale is set incorrectly and it is trying to print out at larger than actual size. Not sure anyone has enough ram to do that.
  18. Thanks Mark, I'll save Michael's trick for some other impossible situation. Any way to make the toe kick run all the way to the baseboard ?
  19. Edit All Roof Planes> Options> Boxed Eaves
  20. You could use the Exterior Millwork treatment options with symbol offsets but it is a little tricky.
  21. Garreth, I am not sure that there is a way to do that with cabinet controls but I am not really a cabinet guy. However if you convert to a symbol there is a special way to trim a cabinet. It is rather detailed and will be a good learning experience. Michael did a video specifically for a cabinet but I can't find it and I think he replaced it with a more detailed demonstration in this video: Subscribe for many more advanced tips. You should be able to come up with something like this if you follow along carefully.
  22. It appears you do not have a roof but if all you need is ceilings for now. Open the affected rooms and under the Structure tab of the Room DBX go to Ceiling and select "Flat Ceiling Over This Room" Not quite sure how you got there but that should fix it unless the Ceiling Finish was deleted.
  23. So they engineer it for back fill and sod, or just put a tarp over the subfloor and let it get all moldy ?
