  1. Same client possibly or is this a fad. Definitely want to be sure things are properly engineered so the dozer does not fall in while back filling.
  2. This should help get you started:
  3. It is the model that you export as .dae ( Collada ) from Chief.
  4. I did need to adjust the bottom height of the wall for some reason and it will not be at the default height. You man be able to drag it down carefully in 3D. Also put it on it's own layer so you can turn it off in plan view if you like.
  5. Ok I was able to get it to work although the setting are a little different and not as stable because you already have a second level. Possibly it will stick and work for you. 1078 New Chopped.plan
  6. Yes that was the issue I had. Give me a few minutes.
  7. Yes I messed with that idea for a while and thought I could make it work somehow but it always failed. The Roof Return is generated by the main floor wall. The facade wall on the gable end is also a main floor wall that you would likely put on an independent layer and turn off as it makes no sense at all. Otherwise I would think that you would need a second floor as Tommy suggested earlier but that may cause other issues and my method would avoid those possibilities. I can post an X10 test plan with the setting if you like or you could post yours ?
  8. Tools> Layout> Referenced Plan Files
  9. I thought so as well until I looked carefully at picture #2. It must just be a surface mounted facade as I think there is also a ledger board visible in picture #1.
  10. Never tried it but looks like a possibility with .dae Collada. Let us know how it goes. https://support.google.com/earth/thread/5125478?hl=en The imagery looks like the moon but it does seem to work. Add>Model Would love to see what you intend to do with it !
  11. Are you thinking of running Chief on an old laptop ? Those specifications are getting rather minimal but it would likely run chief if nothing else was running. Also depends on your screen size and resolution. Your file size looks reasonable. Do you have any imported CAD or PDF content ?
  12. Sorry Steven, Your attached file is empty. Please be sure to save the file and close chief before uploading to the forum. It would likely be best to do a backup of the Plan and Layout files from layout if we need to look at both files.

Add another floor and move to level 2. RUSTED GATE OFF-Chopped.plan P.S. Please update your signature.
  14. You could have a rooms pallet in your template and use the Object Eyedropper but there is the possibility of issues when you delete the pallet rooms.
  15. Use the Match Properties tool and Select All. Then Apply Properties ( to Rooms )
  16. I would say your CPU would be the weak point as it looks to be a couple generations before mine and it is starting to show its age. Still likely dependent on plan file size and content though as you could likely keep on working with your current setup for basic plans.
  17. It will depend on the plan file size and content. Minimum specs are what it takes to run without crashing regularly. You might want to post your RAM and CPU specs and let the experts weigh in. GPU does not have much to do with plan view display.
  18. Interesting idea and you could actually set your glass material to display that way and not have any effect on your standard view.
  19. Yes wire mesh will not work. Square mesh is part of the "Wire and Lattice Materials" Bonus Catalog.
  20. Those look a bit more like security screens but if that is what you are after you can place custom muntins on the shaped windows. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00930/creating-custom-muntins.html
  21. Take a look at this Article: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00796/beveling-the-top-of-a-concrete-column.html Also covered in this video a 5:30: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5445/creating-3d-cad-objects.html?playlist=98 Let us know if it makes sense or not and don't worry about your English as it seem to be better than some of us over here.

Best to check with Tech Support but this may help.
  23. Hi Dave, If it can be done in real life it should be possible with solids. A long way from just selecting a profile in a DBX but it should be possible. Chief has a bit more work to do with intersecting miters for sure.
  24. Lew, is this what you need ? I did not delete your dimensions on page 1. It is definitely a little crotchety and you can't just get it to show up anywhere you click. Also needed to zoom in a little more that would normally be necessary. I find a lot of things in Chief are zoom dependent and will not work at zoom levels I find comfortable. Also you might find it easier to use the Sheet Drawing Margins for that purpose.
