  1. Also needs to be an Evaluated Owner Object macro I believe.
  2. Yes that works ok with Chief. Thanks
  3. Thanks Joe, I will give that a try.
  4. Ok now I understand and it seems Maureen is getting the same thing but this is a little different than what I reported so I will keep a more careful eye out for this one.
  5. Yes they did make that improvement at some point recently. I basically did the same but then noticed a mess in plan view. Found it worked a little better to build them the same size one beside the other and then use the center tool in plan view to match them up.
  6. Ok that sounds much more logical. Thank You. I guess what you are saying is that useful macro's cost money.
  7. I was just looking at the macro you just wrote for LaVor and realized that it will only work for one particular file. Is there a way to take his example of : C:\Users\zbook17g3\OneDrive\_Business\DesignsByLaVor\_WorkX11\_Builders\CH - Compass\Clients\Working\Hancock - Hardin\Hardin.plan Then write a macro that effectively eliminates everything before the 8th instance of "\" and after the 12th instance. Producing the result of : CH - Compass\Clients\Working\Hancock - Hardin Then this would work for every project unless there was a change in the structure of the file path and then the macro could easily be rewritten or copied and edited ?
  8. It seems to work as a Barn Door if you raise the Threshold.
  9. How would that look Joe if you just wanted to hide the directory and /Users/Username/ and maybe a file or two ? Or are you wanting the exact characters ?
  10. Not exactly sure what is going on with the shot you posted Alan as there is no before and after other than the text in the top right seems to be running off the sheet. I did report not too long ago about a discrepancy between layout and PDF that I am not sure has been fixed yet but it was the image that was moving and not the text as far as I know. Could be related ?
  11. Give this a try or even better since this is an as built, take a photo of the existing wall when you are on site and crop it so it will tile and bring it into chief as a New Material or even have the client take a nice evenly lit square on photo. White Mortar Wash.calibz
  12. Select the cabinet so it it highlighted and grab the larger of the two triangular edit nodes. The smaller one is for the label.
  13. Nice work Stephen. Intriguing observation but it seems that it is not the number of layers or the thickness but the outermost layer that Bob used does not have a texture source and it's General Material setting is 35% transparent, therefore appears almost transparent in standard view. It is the outermost layer that wraps so this is very important. If there is a bug here it would be that not all the layers are wrapping but that may be done by Chief behind the scene to reduce surface counts of the overall model. The question would be for Bob as to why this was done rather than blending the brick texture ?
  14. Do you have some pictures or sketches you could post ? There are a lot of things Chief can do in unconventional ways but the exact parameters are critical. Welcome to the forum. What software are you using ?
  15. It sounds like this is the issue you are dealing with:
  16. Very nice Mick, That is a simple and elegant solution that will also provide the 2D cad block. Eric and I were working toward and I believe had successfully found a solution for Mike's original request of having the sill integrated into the window such that it could be used with any stock window and saved as a contractors default.
  17. Gene, I looked a few things over and made some comparisons to your previously posted file where the problem did not seem to exist. I am most certainly not a stair expert with chief but if you pull the wall extension back 1" it seems to work and 3' 6" is a nice round number that I am sure your clients would accept. It seems like you may be just a bit past the control of the stairway. Even 3' 5 1/2" will actually work for your dimension on the upper landing.
  18. Also still running version 21.2.0 for the time being and no errors with the plan or 3D. Also noticed the irregular wall intersections in your screen shots are not showing. likely need to look at your setup if it happens tomorrow again.
  19. I knew there was a reason that the unequal symbol is not part of Chief Blueprint Font. Chief would never want to be responsible for someone ordering too much concrete. I guess we just go with ± 1/3 because 18" ≠ 12" just would not look right.
  20. Hi Mick, If you have a symbol that works apply it to the window as the Exterior Millwork Below Casing "Treatment". Increase the Z offset until the z fighting goes away and I guess until chief catches up draw the sill in with cad or use the 2D cad block from the symbol if that is easier. If it is just a 1 off no need to worry about applying the symbol or even making a symbol. Just if you want to have a bunch of them or make it your default window.
  21. Did you take a look at the plan file that Eric posted ? He says the symbol he created and used for the window sills is in the plan file. If he also included the original p-solid you can edit it to suit your needed profile or just create your own by analysing his and taking note of the stretch plane settings and offsets.
  22. Gene, I just tried a +2" Z Transformation of all of your roof planes on the previously posted plan file and the trusses seem to be responding correctly to a Forced Rebuild. Was there a particular truss that was giving issues or a particular roof plane ?
  23. I am thinking that ridge caps and baselines should move by moving only the roof planes but would need to run a controlled test to be sure.
  24. That would have been a transform and Replicate move ? I think I remember having issues with that last time I did it. Give Edit All Roof Planes a try.
  25. Just like Eric said and I had a go at your gable wall hole as well. P.S. Time to update your signature. Roof Problem Chopped.plan
