  1. If you don't know what you are doing with this you can get into quite a mess in a real hurry. Best that you know what is going on before unlocking the layer but once you understand it by all means change your default if you like. Section view editing also has it's advantages by allowing access to the envelope in the context of other framing that would be lost in the truss detail.
  2. If that is unclear we can Skype for a bit if it will save you a flight.
  3. It is not unlocked in your Truss Detail layer Set.
  4. The polyline envelope is not editable in the truss detail. Edit the truss members in the truss detail by unlocking the Framing, Roof Trusses Layer. The truss envelope can be edited in a section view camera.
  5. So Eric's Pony side wall in combination with adjusting the Plan Display of the front pony wall to "Upper Wall" and using the Edit Wall Intersections tool to bring the siding to the outside corner seems to work ok.
  6. Did you give the Edit Wall Layer Intersections tool a try ?
  7. Not sure about the fractions or insulation but the arrows may be happier if you explode before importing. Chief did some work on that but not sure it is correct yet, unless it is following your chief defaults. Hard to know for sure without the file.
  8. Jon your posted plan file is not quite the same as your previous screen shots but it seems that you moved the two stair slabs down to the 0 level. Other things can be done the same way. Make sure that the elevation reference is set to Absolute and CRTL+X on level one and then CTRL + ALT + V on level zero. Footings, posts and beams should all work fine that way. Footings seem to be missing from angled main floor entrance porch.
  9. You can create one if you like. Usually just a copy of your default set will work with a few minor modifications.
  10. Dale you are really having a bad day ! Do you have an open with option on your Mac like PC's do ? Also there is a new setting in X11 in Preferences > General > File Management > File Association, "Associate Files With This Program.." This is quite helpful if you are exclusively using X11. But this will take away your association with X9.
  11. There was a significant improvement to the Draw Order Edit Tool in X9 that will handle situations like that with ease. In X6 you may be able to use the cad block for the chair rather than the automatic 2D Cad Block generated by the symbol.
  12. Is that the Lookout Drive Residence: Kitchen and Bath Plan ? In that video the layout template is shown at 49:40 and looks to be a manual callout with added cad and rich text or multiple standard text boxes. Did they provide the plan and layout files with the Webinar fee ? Just a marketing trick as it is not even used in the final layout of the demo. But keep your hopes up because we have been pushing hard to get this. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10161/kitchen-demo.html?playlist=152
  13. It can be done manually in your wall detail but is not very user friendly.
  14. No you are not missing anything. The only condition that you describe above that chief will currently do automatically is place the header up tight against the top plate provided you have calculated the window position to correspond to that. Otherwise search out one of our previous suggestions or even better start your own.
  15. Will that even work Eric ? Would you not just get the latest library items with a fresh install of even X7 ? I would think it would be the same as keeping your X7 libraries current and up to date.
  16. C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X7\Referenced Files\CoreCatalogFiles.zip
  17. So you would like to use a callout circle as a label for your elevations in layout ? You will need to add that manually in Layout or you can send it to your elevation view from your plan view and it will be live you will just need to crop it. If you choose to do it manually you can automate the page reference by using the %layout.label% macro in the callout but the "Callout Label" ( Camera Reference ) will still need to be entered manually even though we have made several requests for this to be automatic.
  18. I would love to know what all that information in the legal description means as it does not seem to follow any known standard protocol, but I did find something online while searching that may be helpful. SEC_9001.pdf
  19. looks like you entered the wrong name for the macro to start with.
  20. I think there is a default Plot Plan Text Style that you can use or edit to your liking depending on the scale of the plot plan. Open ALDO ( Active Layer Display Options ) and make sure Layer Properties are turned on. Select a plot line of the plan and it will show you what layer it is on and what Text Style it is using. Look for Plot Plan Text Style or hit the define button to make your own. You will likely need a text height of 30" or more.
  21. If the file is too large for Dropbox then you should check what codec you are using. Xvid or x264 are currently the best choices.
  22. Go to that Cad Detail and turn on the Schedules layer and it should pop up.
  23. Bob It is on the Schedules layer of your Window Schedule Cad Detail. The layer is currently off in the plan you attached.
