  1. Nice, Ken. Which method did you use?
  2. Thanks, Mick. These are good for standard roofing panels; better than the library version I think.
  3. That's what I thought it looked like also.
  4. Thanks for the video, Steve. Wish you had made this a couple of years ago!
  5. Diane, I really think you are too tight on the headroom over the toilet. If those stairs are enclosed underneath then you have less head clearance than you show, which is already too tight IMHO. Mike
  6. Like Eric said. When you use a copy-paste-hold position, before you move on, open the items while highlighted and change their settings, especially real-world height.
  7. There was a post on this just recently; should find it with a search. Apparently, CA still has a problem with the type roof you show and railings with post to beam designations. Short answer, best I remember, is CA can't do it without some manual posts and beams.
  8. That would be a step backwards! I was just about to switch over to X11 (have it downloaded) but may wait. I send almost all of my views as plot lines to layout. I then edit several plot lines to clean-up the elevations and sections. Having no control over which ones update would be a real problem for me.
  9. You can do the above, then go to the "offending" dimension and delete those segments, then move your new dims back inline.
  10. Thanks, Michael. I didn't have a clue where those copies came from. Too bad there isn't a "merge" option - sure would clean things up quickly. I leave my CAD Detail from view until I am done with a project. I guess I will have to make a mental note to go back and delete those from now on. Thanks again.
  11. Some of the "junk" that accumulates from my work flow is duplicate CAD blocks. I insert the same CAD block over and over and for some reason I end up with duplicates as shown below. CAD Block Management doesn't have a way to "merge" these so that my list is more manageable. Is there a way to do it?
  12. I totally agree. CA does need a good training video "for the masses" on this one and promote it well. This is such a vital link for the preparation of condocs.
  13. The Saved Plan Views are a different paradigm, especially coming from the way CA linked views sent to layout in the past with annosets being king. However, it is, in my humble opinion , a great improvement. Having the ability for the SPV to remember the floor, defaults for that view, layerset, referenced views, etc. has saved me considerable time. Having said that, it is still difficult, sometimes, to not "change" things (defaults or floor, for instance) while in the SPV; old habits die hard having worked that way for years. Set up the plan views and leave them alone unless you intentionally want to make changes. If you want to make changes do a "save as" and make a new plan view; send that to layout and keep working. It is logical to me and my work flow. There are enough threads on this forum concerning this feature to help anyone understand it if they would just do a search first instead of posing the same question over and over. Are people confused, obviously. But it is a great feature and well worth learning.
  14. Thanks, Glenn. That's what I am using. Almost all of my condocs use Rich Text; I've done it that way for years. This just started today all out of the blue. I turned Connect CAD Segments off and back on just to see if it would clear up; it didn't. It cleared up after I rebooted as I noted above. I tried it again just now with Connect CAD Segments turned off. I only get one arrow using Rich Text in that scenario also. I don't have a clue what might have triggered the strange behavior. At least it is working now like it is supposed to.
  15. Got out of CA, restarted, and the arrows are working again - only one arrow. This kind of junk drives me crazy sometimes!
  16. I am having a problem with Rich text adding double arrows, one on each line segment. It just started doing this in X10. I have looked in Help and looked thru numerous pages on Search and find no option to even add a second arrow, much less turn it off! Very frustrating. Anyone know how to change this to just one arrow? One old topic suggested the Connect Line Segments might be turned off, but that is not the case; I checked and it is On.
  17. Very interesting video. Thanks for posting, Chopsaw.
  18. You are welcome. If you select the wall tool and then click on a wall in the library, it will draw that wall - great timesaver.
  19. Select a "normal" wall, go to Wall Types, copy the wall and rename to a load-bearing name, change the wall fill/color to whatever you want. Change all walls that are load-bearing to the new wall type. Add it to your library and you have it from now own.
  20. Me too; done it that way for years. However, Renerabbit has a workflow that intrigues me that he did a video on recently. He "lost me" real quick and this old, tired brain probably won't change - too close to retirement, I hope!
