  1. You can send them a DWG/DXF cad file of the floor plan that they can import into Chief if they don't have autocad. Or you could just send them a pdf or jpg that they could open in Chief or whatever they want. There is no way that I know of to send them a Chief plan file and not give them the whole 3D model.
  2. Click on the "gear" button at the bottom left side of the ALDO. Make sure "show all layers" is not checked.
  3. The short answer is that there is no easy way to make an angled top cabinet. Mark's method will work but it does take a bit more work then I usually want to do. As an alternative, it is relatively easy to make a door with an angled top which you could then convert into a symbol and just place under the stairs. The only tricky part is trying to match the angle on the door top with the angle of the stair. In the picture below, I have a basic panel door with a left side "arch" where all you need to do is futz with the height to get it close to the angles you want.
  4. You can do this by adding a "complete break" so that you have two separate stair sections with different widths. Maybe a molding polyline? You may also be able to just set a handrail for the lower stair section and none on the upper one when you add the complete break for #3. FYI, if you want to change the settings for one stair section and not another, all you need to do is shift-select it and open the stair dialog.
  5. I still have X10 on one of my machines and it looks like your window frames are all messed up. I could make them go away by turning off the frame completely or by setting the depth and inset values to 0. Apparently, X15 works much better than X6 in this case.
  6. You could try 2 separate stair sections.
  7. If the floor doesn't show with the "all on" layers set, then it probably has something to do with your room's floor structure. If you can't figure it out, then you need to post your plan or contact tech support.
  8. I would do like Mick and just use a railing wall that is the same thickness as your post base. You can then adjust the beam horizontally to align it wherever you want.
  9. Have you tried using a "shelf ceiling" with a lower ceiling in those interior rooms?
  10. If you start a new plan with a metric (or imperial) template, it will always be a metric (or imperial) plan and there is no way that I know of to convert the units. You can display dimensions in either metric or imperial units (or both) but it won't change the units under the hood.

    Scaling

You should draw your plot plan at full scale and then just scale the view when you send it to your layout. Same for cad details.
  12. I don't think you can. Closing the layout view will close the layout. I don't think this has anything to do with tiling windows.
  13. Personally, I would create those stamps using something else and bring them in as a picture, pdf, or cad file. You can create a custom line style with whatever text on it you like and then curve the line but I seem to get too many problems with uneven gaps and overlaps. Not sure if there is a good way to avoid these.
  14. You could use the hand drawn line render technique. The picture below took a couple of seconds and I did no messing around with it. I don't think Chief will have any trees that will look as good as the ones in your picture though. If you want something that looks better, you might want to check out the training video series: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/playlists/102/rendering-cameras-lighting.html
  15. You could try a louvered window and it might look good enough. You could also use a garage door with a lot of vertical panels but I couldn't figure out how to get a sill or casing on the bottom.
  16. As for the library, check out this Chief video: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/268/library-browser-overview.html Or, Rene's video: https://youtu.be/_6015r6lT5A I think you are correct that the new X15 grass will only appear in PBR and not in CPU raytrace. As for videos, I don't know if there are any that are just about exteriors but there are a bunch of rendering videos here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/playlists/102/rendering-cameras-lighting.html There is also some useful information in the samples gallery including plans you can download and how to videos. Not sure if any of them have any good exterior tutorials but some of the exterior images look promising. You can find them here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/samples.html
  17. The Simpson door library has some 3, 4, and 5 panel doors with flat panels and it looks like it is compatible with suite 2023 (and even more important it's free). See if you have a "get online content" button in your library browser or on your menu.
  18. Downloading the trial version and trying it out isn't a bad idea but if you want to know ahead of time what features to look for, you can take a look at these: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02963/features-introduced-in-each-version-of-chief-architect.html Kudos to tech support for putting these all in one place like this.
  19. Sill plates are framing. Did you build the framing?
  20. The X15 migration guide has some good info in it: https://cloud.chiefarchitect.com/1/pdf/documentation/chief-architect-current-migration-guide.pdf?_ga=2.128786892.1328454754.1703532346-1515566948.1694022963&_gl=1*1v8tg6v*_ga*MTUxNTU2Njk0OC4xNjk0MDIyOTYz*_ga_06381P3JQ2*MTcwMzcxNzM0OC40Ni4xLjE3MDM3MTczNTYuMC4wLjA.
  21. You need to turn the "filter results" back on.
  22. Being far away from 0,0 causes all sorts of weird problems. It's not really necessary to move the wall corner to 0,0 in this case because it is not far away from 0,0. You could also move it to 10,10 or 100,100. The important part is that you are moving it back to the drawing grid which fixes the problem with "grid rounding".
