Place a normal doorway. Go to the arch page and set it to "dogear arch". Set the height of the arch. If needed, turn off the casing.

It might be less of a basement and more of a concrete bunker. Might want to find out what kind of weapons they are planning on using and what kind of blast rating they need. Also, make sure you don't piss them off.

Look at your preferences and see if your minimum line weight is set to something other than 0. If not that, then look at your "drawing sheet setup" to see if everything is set up properly. If neither of those help, then post the plan.

You might be able to get what you want with either the garden bed or distributed object tools. These can place plants in an area that are distributed semi-randomly and will sit on top of your terrain.

As Jason suggested, you can create a sun angle in your plan and use the "make shadow" tool to build a polyline that matches the shadow. Changing the fill style to a semi-transparent solid grey can give you something like this: Note that this is only going to give you a shadow for your walls and roofs and does not look at any other objects (AFAIK). You could also create your own "shadow" polylines and draw them however you like though. As Michael suggested, you can also create a top down orthographic overview and then turn on shadows. This view will show all shadows and it can use a wide variety of rendering techniques and options. Much harder to show things like dimensions, text, and cad. Below is just one very simple example: Would need to know more about exactly what you are looking for to give you any more suggestions.

How can I create a cabinet hardware pull that is mixed metals?
DBCooper replied to MelanieNC's topic in General Q & A
That looks like it could be modeled entirely just using different sized cylinders. You just need to apply two different materials and then convert it into a hardware symbol. You could also look for one online that you could then import. This will only work if the person that made it used two different materials though. -
Your link doesn't work.

Maybe you could draw an elevation spline on top of the imported contour lines and then get rid of them?

I don't think we actually had the "auto door threshold" back in 2020 when this thread was started. Now that we do, it is easier to set it up to so the doors will be single or double based on how you actually build them. I think it is still using the opening width though and not the cabinet box width.
-
I don't think that is right. Even if it was a counter top problem, I don't think you need to replace the sink when you replace an auto counter with a custom one. My guess is that you have accidently created a weird cabinet connection situation. Try going into your general cabinet defaults and turning off "create auto fillers for angled connected cabinets". You may or may not want to turn off the "create auto blind corner cabinets" too. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you should post your plan.

I'm not so sure I would trust google on this one. It's very simple to add a fillet between two straight line segments but I still haven't figured out a way to add a fillet in between a line and an arc or between two arcs. If @basketballmanknows a way, I would love to see how he does it.

Make sure the wall you drew is using the wall type you changed. Make sure the "walls, layers" is turned on. Make sure the wall is not a "railing". Could be something else, but would probably need to have a plan to look at. As far as other ways to make some walls look different, could also use the wall hatch tool.

Select the terrain perimeter. Select the "make terrain hole around building" tool, Edit the shape as needed.

I assume you mean home designer architectural? Not sure if it has the same controls for stairs that chief premier has so you might want to ask on the home designer forum instead: https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/ You might be able to get close to what you want using fully automatic stairs if you make sure the difference in the deck heights is exactly 2 riser heights.

So the easy way to solve this is to use X16 where you can just offset the panel to be where you want it in the opening. I did not take a look at Rene's symbol but my guess is that he made the door into a symbol so that he could offset the origin of the symbol. Personally, if I was determined to do this in X15 or some other older version, I would probably just create a doorway and manually place the door and position it how I wanted it.

Look for it in your framing defaults under "plan display".

I need to create a monolithic slab w/ no stem wall
DBCooper replied to binkpear's topic in General Q & A
When you built the foundation, did you chooser "mono slab" in the "build foundation" dialog? If this is what you did, and you are still getting stem walls, then you might want to post the plan because I can't think of a good reason why that would happen. -
Recover a copy door/window casing *from* plan --> to User Catalog
DBCooper replied to WoodGrain's topic in General Q & A
If you have a symbol, molding, or material that is owned by another object, you can always use the "Add to Library As" tool to extract it and insert it into the library. -
This is most likely a problem with your video card or the driver. Checkout this tech support article for more info: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00106/troubleshooting-3d-camera-view-display-problems-in-chief-architect.html If that doesn't work, then you might want to contact tech support.

Michael is correct. One of the library objects is a symbol of a door panel and the other is a full garage door. You can only choose a panel symbol from the door dialog but you can place either from the library and into the plan.

Take another look at my picture above. See how it has one "stacked molding" that is made up using two separate molding profiles. It also has the "explode stack" button so that you can go back to the original profiles. It has some advantages over a single molding profile because you can build up stacked moldings from more basic profiles and then modify them later. A stacked molding is more like an architectural block where your custom profile is more like a symbol.
-
@GeneDavis You can group 2 or more moldings into a "stacked molding" so that you can treat them like one molding. You can even add the stack to the library to reuse them later.
-
Find one you like in the library and then just click on the fence. Works pretty much the same as adding a door.
-
Do the moldings match exactly for both cabinets? Do the cabinet heights also match exactly? If not one of these, you should probably post the plan. BTW, any time I have problem with the automatic moldings that I can't fix easily, I just convert them to custom molding polylines and then fix them manually.

Check the wall type used for the railing that forms the stairwell room. My guess is that it doesn't have any drywall. Might want to change it to "interior railing" if it is not already. If that doesn't help you, then you should probably post your plan.
