  1. Upgrade fee X12 - X13 is $695 ( not the yearly SSA Fee of $525 ) STD Transfer is $50 ( to do the paperwork) but if it is a secondary license which was not the Full X12 Cost then it is the Cost Difference from 2nd to Full. Looks like they put the price up recently $2695 > $2965 however the new Retail price is $3300. You can call Sales and ask questions.... M.
  2. It doesn't appear you have added any Lighting ? and 15 passes is not enough to finish the RT ...try 50 as a minimum. The best Help/Guidance for Users still using older Versions and the Old RT method, is in a Thread called Lets RayTrace , started by Graham Korbey started in 2017.
  3. Chief's typical Wall definition has the Foundation build to the Framing Layer , not the Sheathing , but you can change this in the Wall Type's Definition....
  4. It sounds like you haven't set the Separation to zero And only Chief knows Why but the Windows Separation also effects Doors

Looks like you are using the Intel iGPU ? it is 10th Gen. , and has a Intel® Iris® Plus, so is supposedly supported by CA X13 ( 9th Gen. and above) https://www.intel.ca/content/www/ca/en/products/sku/196592/intel-core-i51035g7-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-70-ghz/specifications.html Latest Driver is 30.0.101.1069 https://www.techpowerup.com/download/intel-integrated-graphics-drivers/ or download and install Intel's Driver and Software App , which works surprisingly well these days....at least for me.... https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html So I'd suggest you start a Tech. Support case through your Digital Locker. Dermot (CA) may know more if he comes on the Forum.... @Dermot Mick.
  6. Hi , you notice the NVME speed increase at 1st , then a few days later it is normal and you don't notice it in everyday use , at least that was my experience. Make sure the Undo and Temp folders are on the NVME Drive now, they should be but I have dedicated folders on C:\ I point Chief to use instead.... They are generally empty when Chief is in use but occasionally leave download folders and undo.plans behind eg if there is a crash.
  7. *** Note that none of these Old Cards will give you FULL PBR-RT Views in CA Premier X13 , that requires RTX hardware which they do not have, But you will get X12 Type 3D Views though ( A RTX 2000 or 3000 Series Nvidia card is required for full support) I did a google search on Extended formats TypedUAVLoad More info https://www.anandtech.com/show/8526/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-review/4 https://www.anandtech.com/show/8544/microsoft-details-direct3d-113-12-new-features https://microsoft.github.io/DirectX-Specs/d3d/UAVTypedLoad.html * do your own research and confirm before putting down any cash It is part of the DirectX 11.3 architecture, (2014-2015) it appears which was supported fully by Maxwell 2 Chips like the 900 series eg gtx 970/980 though the 9 Series is DirectX 12 compatible too ( and thus all versions before it ) * Chief recommends a card Capable of DirectX 12.3 though. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/sysreq.html This is the 970 I have ( no longer use) for example in ..... TPU is great for Checking Specs on cards.... https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/gigabyte-gtx-970-g1-gaming.b3050 If I had too ...... some have found the AMD 560x works in situations like this.... let me see if I can find that thread.... here is that Info Some people have replaced their 710/720 GT cards with this AMD Card fairly cheaply. AMD RX 560D-4G 4GB GDDR5 https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-RX560OC-4GD-rev-10/sp#sp https://www.xfxforce.com/gpus/amd-radeon-tm-rx-560-4gb-14cu-single-fan-2 https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-560d.c2990 Mick
  8. A project like this , 1 File should be fine , and yes it should be no issue to set the workshop say 24" Lower than the main house by using the absolute Floor Height reference , in this case at say -24" , you do need to watch that the Ceiling height is still at Default/Desired Hgt. though ie still 14', otherwise it will stay at set height of 14' above Absolute (0" in CA) which would be a 16' Ceiling in this case. M.
  9. It is/was because you set the Level 1 Ceiling Height Default to 14' which effects the whole plan...... better to set it to 8' and then adjust the Workshop Space only to 14' M.
  10. The Color Cast comes from the background used , many many posts on the Forum about it ...... and has been an issue since we got PBR Turn the Sun Lumens way down (Low thousands) and in X13... turning the Daylight Intensity down can also help, ( 700-1000 range) and checking Cap Live Samples will also stop the GPU from overworking at full speed , try 1000 - 2000 - 3000 settings for example, I have mine at 2500 currently with my 3080. M.
  11. Yes they look like Pt to Pt Dimension Markers to me too...this will happen IF they don't snap to a Dimension-able Point/Surface, in which Case the Pt to Pt Dimension will place it's own 4" Radius (default) Marker , you can open these and make them smaller like 1/4" or 1/2" R and they are almost un-noticeable .....could change the Default Marker Radius too I guess for future placements. M.
  12. See my post from Oct 22nd ...... most Cards starting with Maxwell Architecture ie the 900 series and above Support it..... You may be able to have the Seller run the DirectXCaps Viewer test and show the results 1st. Here is DXCapsViewer if you need it ......dxcapsviewer_2021.zip
  13. Not quite sure I'd call this the Sam Method but you can definitely have multiple different Templates for different types of Work or Styles , then you just use "New From Template> (pick template) instead of using the New Plan Icon which could still be used for you usual Template of course. * Like Joe I also like(d) the new(ish) ability to make older plans into Templates , though with X13 I am not 100% sure it is a good idea anymore except from X13 plans, as some Defaults seem to get messed up in X13 using a X12 Plan or older as the new Template ..... for eg. I was finding strange things happing with dimensioning which got a big overhaul in X13 M.
  14. It's normal buddy, we somalis are known for their generosity. Thank goodness for google translate
  15. Ok , that helps , it's still a Gull Wing but it appears they had to make the top almost Flat ...to perhaps met a local height restriction? You will need to build the Gull Wing, turn off Auto Roof Build, then Manually add the 4 almost flat ( 1/2" : 12 ?) triangular Planes. Mick. * I did this is a new Plan as your Plan is having issues with the Gull Wing Roof for some reason.....
  16. No extra Photos taken? as it appears to be a ridge running left-right and not a flat Roof in the Pics above..... Do you know the real Roof Pitches ? here is my quick go at the gullwing , all numbers are guesses
  17. Mostly in the Bonus Catalogs , I think there are now 27 Bonus Lighting Libraries ...not all Outdoor of course.... here is my list of all Libraries available .......... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/31252-list-of-x13-currently-available-libraries-nov10th-2021/
  18. Other than the benefits already mentioned , it helps to keep CA from Lagging as Schedules get larger especially as every time you zoom in or out as 1 example CA has to rebuild (draw) all that Data again and again and you will likely see slow downs eg an X over the schedule as it redraws as you zoom. I have mine setup in my Template as others mentioned too...

  20. Thanks for the update.... looks like you may need to RMA the 850 if still in warranty , once you have the Data copied off it.... Order 2TB Clone 1TB and then wipe and return 1TB ........I hear it's the Amazon way.... M.
  21. To me it appears to be what Chief Calls a Gull Wing Roof , or 2-Pitch Roof , opposite Pitches of a Mansard. Low to High ie: 4/12 , then turns into 8/12 approximately 42-48" from the Baseline ( Wall ) As Eric shows above..... Build Roof > Roof Styles > Gull Wing Roof which should open the Help file for you...
  22. Thanks again Yusef , appreciate you posting your Symbols for everyone. Mick.
  23. It should work , usually it is best practice to keep your Schedules in a CAD Detail, Rather than In Plan, but that maybe what you already do. M.

X13 needs extra resources and your hardware may not be upto date enough? do you Sig. and let us know your hardware specs ...how too.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03146/identifying-the-shader-model-of-your-graphics-card-in-windows.html
