  1. Try Tommy Blair , nice guy , he is in Houston link here https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2217-austin-tx/#entry50319
  2. Hi Ling , if you have Home Designer Pro , you should ask over on HomeTalk , rather than here at ChiefTalk if you build the Roof and turn off Auto Roof Build in the Roof DBX , it wont move or rebuild after that but you have to build it 1st. You can rebuild the Roof with the Retain manual roof planes too (one's you edited) which may help you rebuild if needed. Always best to post pics or your plan if having issues and fill in your Profile Signature so people know what software and year you are using too as there are different answers for different Products, due to different capabilities. 3. maybe just the orientation when you took the piic ...(phone upside down) most windows programs auto orientate pics so you don't notice this... No fruit here either , I am Windows Comp. + Surface3 and windows phone too , but am close to getting a Android phone , maybe Note4 for app support , though I don't really want to learn another "Ecosystem"
  4. I was going to try searching for it but realised I had no clue what you actually called the request....
  5. You should bump that request so I can +1 it ,would love that too.
  6. Happy to help when I can, and thanks for the thank you and posting back with the result.
  7. Save the wall to your Library, once it is there you can access it in any plan by just selecting it in the library and it will auto appear in the wall list drop down box, or your can simply go ahead and start drawing with that wall type . M.
  8. Thanks Mickey nice link , it is actually worth a closer look , they have some nice PDF's under catalogues (not just the products brochure) and the Link at the top to "Download CAD.DWG" actually gives you their entire CAD catalogue in one File ...2030 profiles all at 1:1 scale , not sure I imported it correctly but you do need to zoom right in being 1:1 M.
  9. nice... when can we expect them in the Symbols Forum?
  10. I have seen on other Forums that iPhone picks come in upside down but don't own one myself so not sure of the reason

You are such a tease Yusef , pics and no plan for him (or any one) to play with. Nice job once again. M.
  12. for you 32° is 90° tried to look at pic , but I'm a couple of injuries past swivelling my head that far around.
  13. Hi Dave , I didn't realise it was you , and that you had upgraded and were here on CT now. This KB article explains the error message you asked about : http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00155/104/Chief-Architect/Layouts/Message%3A-No-layout-view-or-file-was-found.html You don't need to Open a Layout at the same time as a Plan , that doesn't need to be done until you are ready to start sending Plan Pages to Layout ,then the 1st time for each Plan you will get the above message , once the Layout is Open , goto save and save it in the same folder as your Plan file, then it is linked to the Plan, in fact you can then open a layout and click on the Layout and open the Plan from there if needed at the page your clicked on in the Layout. However from your 2nd post I think you are confusing your Layout Template and the fact you have made Layout Template Pages as well, which is optional . I think you are referring to the User Guide Tutorials right ? , If you want to use them, you then have to Open you Layout Template and then insert the optional Template Pages for the Cover Page, Foundation, Floor 1,Floor2,Elevations etc. as per page 201-206 of the UG ,and then save your Layout file as your Template Layout File again, so you get them in all Layouts from then on, otherwise you get just the Main Layout File you saved 1st as it is you default Layout Template. Mick.
  14. I think Perry is right Rich , there is a KB Article for doing it here : http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00930/18/Chief-Architect/Windows/Creating-Custom-Muntins.html
  15. since you are "busy" on the Lake at the moment perhaps these one I made last yr will help....3 are Arch,Blocks ,the other 3 Symbols of the same AB_. StoneClad Columns_MHD.calibz also CA has a Bonus Porch and Columns Library and a Bonus Porch Millwork library too at the moment if you don't have them.
  16. Nice..... 32 deg. here today so that would be the go....
  17. Thanks Larry , appreciate you taking the time to do that for me , like you I Remodel ,and I like that idea especially for smaller jobs like a Bathroom Only Job and it's a great Option if there is room on the Plan Sheet to work with. It's is always good to see how other Remodellers do Stuff , which isn't always the typical New Home Builds way.
  18. Wow , that's my learning Nugget for today , thanks Kirk , I should of checked the Manual , I thought that Button Reset ALL my defaults , in the Button above , back to OOB settings , so was too afraid to click on it perhaps you could mention a name change for that Button to the Dev. team....Thx.
  19. I wondered that too , but I think the Article mentioned using the Ones in the Library , though I have seen KB articles where it was obvious they didn't do the KB in the version/title mentioned. As far as I know there are no knee braces like the plain 6x6 at 45° in the Library that you wanted and what is there are called Brackets not Braces , put braces in the search and you will get nothing. you can use the Brackets provided with a little cheating too Personally I prefer the look of what CA calls the Ranch Bracket (no#2) , little more decorative.
  20. Are you working on the library Crashes Dermot ? it seems I am not the only one getting them.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5674-x7-crashes-while-inusing-library/
  21. Yes I have wished they provided Full Samples to at least SSA members to look at but suspect that they don't want people building off a "free set", especially those who "found" CA on the internet. Like you I have seen a number of errors/unfinished work in the Samples Gallery , which from and advertising point you would think would be bad, then again I guess they have other duties at CA headquarters and at some point ..."making it perfect " loses to those other Duties/deadlines. M.
  22. You get that message for every new plan , you need to say yes and then save the Layout to the same Folder the Plan is in, after that CA will open that layout by default , if it can't find the Referenced Layout it will 1st look in the Templates folder for the referenced file and if its not there ask you if you want to open a new layout again. So best to set up Client/Project folders and keep all flles in one Folder , easy to backup this way too. If you rename a Layout in Windows' Explorer it's name needs to match the Plan Name exactly or it won't be linked , and will need Re-referencing. One other thing to note is that CA does not start autosaving files in the backup archive unitl you save the Plan with a name the 1st time , so don't open a new plan , and work for a few hours then save , cos if there is a crash you will lose all your work. M.
  23. Thanks , yep they look good , wish things were that busy here..... don't forget to check out the Knowledgebase when doing something new , never know what you might find.......... http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00598/ I think this was the method you used but this KB isn't online anymore , not sure you need it but I had made a PDF of it so Pole Barn Structure.pdf
  24. Perry was answering my Question Joey on how you got the soffit up that high , not your reply on how you fixed it , looking at you section view I now see you must have subfascia's off or set to say 1/16th" or something , so P. answer makes sense. Thanks P. M
  25. Ok great... but that's a trick I might need one day ...how did you do it ? M.
