  1. If your Kohler symbols are in your Library , you can Export the library (right click) to a calibz File and Post it here on the Symbols Forum , I for one would appreciate it. You did get the bonus Shower hardware Library library did you ? I am about to post a 9" radius Glass Shelf I made to use in Showers as I install them all the time too if you'd like it too.
  2. is the Truss sitting on the wall marked an end truss ? and also reduced gable? if not select it and use the force truss rebuild box , see if that helps.
  3. Got an email from M$ this morning , and for those who can't wait there is also a Win 10 Media Creation Tool which is good if you have multiple PC's to update, lot less GB's to download too. http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/software-download/windows10?OCID=reserve_r_PostReserve_MediaCreationTool Or http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10
  4. Hi, and Welcome, as Perry said ,post as many questions as you like on the Q&A Forum as you want to. It sounds like you dimensions are maybe setup incorrectly ,as I assume you are measuring existing homes? In which case your Dims. should be set to locate Surfaces ,not the wall dimension Layer otherwise you could/see differences due to the thickness of the drywall at least or possibly 1/2 the thickness of interior walls or even the thickness of exterior walls as dims maybe defaulted to the Wall Dimension Layer which for exterior walls is outside of Framing. Probably best to post a question on the Q&A about the Wall Elev. there are a number of good kitchen guys here who are happy to help. It's always good to add picks to your posts showing the issues you are having ,and even attaching the plan in alot of cases is very helpful and the quickest way to get good answers. Mick.
  5. something weird with your wall definitions I think cos the Wall def. DBX preview is showing the beige wall ,same as the overview ,yet it's defined as 110mm red brick....
  6. there are a few Chimney Caps in the library if you don't want to use a few P-solids..... M.
  7. ahhh Ok .... as long as I'm not putting Rich down the wrong path
  8. what does the view look like in Standard view ? that looks like Vector view ....so have you played with materials and your Pattern File/colour for every one is the same beige/drywall? as Curt said always post the plan if possible....it stops the guessing.
  9. Strange Glenn deleted his post above..... this is a thread about that from a few weeks ago ...... but if you rebuild the Roof the new gutter will become the default too as it does in a 3D view....see this thread https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5778-gutters-keep-reverting-back-to-default/?hl=gutter
  10. if you unlock the Gutter layer (Locked by default once roof built) and display it if needed , eg in plan view you can then alter the Gutter materials, profile etc M.
  11. Intel has released new Win 10 GFX Drivers Too if you need them https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25150
  12. Intel has released new Win 10 GFX Drivers Too if you need them https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25150
  13. dennis maybe correct as see no evidence of the Coal Colour on your exterior , however your "stud wall" has no Studs....it should be defined as it will be built in the real world (ITRW) ie 12mm drywall, 90mm stud,40mm Corro ( or whatever depth it is) not 20mm of Coal Colour and 100mm of drywall , though I am not sure if that is part of the problem or not...you certainly wont get any framing...
  14. Come on guys , all that time and effort to do examples , and you don't post the plan ...... Like the Others I think it is a Clever illusion , using Hardi Panel or similar by the looks (horizontal flashings). M.
  15. Great ....should be easy to change the 8" Concrete Stem Wall to the 200mm/300mm Concrete Block it looks like you need , you can also change the Wood Framing to Steel framing for the interior wall if needed. Mick.
  16. @Scott I do seem to remember a Thread on Cabinets as Columns but perhaps the Vids are on the old Forum ? as I don't remember them on your youtube/CExperts pages
  17. Thanks Glenn , I haven't ever seen this technique before , might still be the quickest way to get something in place and then modify settings as needed. You should probably add it to the Tips Section , another one of your hidden gems , that's not in the Manual and likely won't be found by many in this thread. Thanks again. M.
  18. If you have the Status Bar on Johnny , there is helpful Tips on what and how each tools works too
  19. Hi Bob , Scott does a quick intro on what he dubs the MRLS (Multiple Reference Layer Sets) in these two videos done in X3 , not sure what has changed since then... http://www.chieftutor.com/scotthall/mrls1.html
  20. Your last video isn't really a case of where to use the Room Ceiling height to control walls Larry as you only want 2 walls at 72" not all 5-6 that form that Room , using the Half Wall tool or Fence Tool is more appropriate since you aren't really trying to lower the ceiling. M.
  21. or Zipping it often helps get it below the 25mb limit
  22. Dennis is right , it would be better to make a single wall definition and draw it all as one ...only 1/2 the work. and windows and door should insert properly. I added a length of wall in your plan to the left of you test house so you can see what I mean , you can also add it to your library , it is the wall I use for Basement walls here . If you put a checkmark in the INS box in the Wall definition , CA will automatically put Insulation in that wall space. M. Test2walls_MH.plan
  23. Interesting Video Glenn , would you mind posting that Wall (Definition) , I'd like to see how it is setup, looks like a good technique, though Scott made some good point too I think.
