What kind of SSD do you have ? Do they have the latest Firmware? are they using the PCIe interface? don't blindly update firmwares please do some research ...Samsung has issues on some of their drives particularly the 960 NVME line ( PS your SSID is your Wifi Network Identifier)

I saw it all too and tried to calm his fears it didn't help , he also posted on my Profile , which I deleted after trying to show him the EULA. And I too am surprised CA deleted or removed the User? especially without any warning.... There has always been a niggle in the back of my mind too about needing and activation Server.....one would hope that if they knew they were going backrupt that they would release a Patch (or email registered Users ) so as to make the Activation Server not necessary. But they refuse to talk about theses Issues, or Release a Statement, so occasionally we get a conspiracy theorist go off the deep end

If you live in a big City or even a small one in Nth America all is fine ...usually . not so much if you work in a remote areas sometimes , that in some cases (mine) don't even have Cell coverage... CA is sold worldwide too remember , not everyone on Earth has a 100mb Broadband connection sitting on their Desk. M.

This is the 1st time I have ever seen this mentioned anywhere........ I however have been caught out with the no internet access issue , while working out of Town and CA could not / would not help , even HD Pro would not work as it also Checks , so I see both sides of this..... there was a time when you could use most software on your Laptop and Desktop without an issue, if it is a legitimate Sign In ( Known Machine ) why can't the Activation Server not do an Auto Switch of the machine registered / used ? Of course that doesn't help if you don't have Internet. M.

Their is a KB Tutorial for re-installing the Core Manually : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02899/manually-installing-core-catalogs-for-chief-architect-premier.html Are you sure you don't have a bad symbol in your User Library ? or is only the Core installed now? M.

Not that I saw Lew but he did start at least 3 and was pretty heated ...though a bit misinformed I think. M.

Thanks Lew , don't think I have seen that Idea before..... I think alot of Building Depts want Isometrics though ? probably to check Venting etc is done correctly. M.

Missing items in X10 Preferences and Components dbx
Kbird1 replied to ambrozac's topic in General Q & A
Thanks Cliff I will pass this on to Brian too but you 2nd comment has me slightly confused.... ie " they should retain all the information you send (i.e, Subcategories), from the Components dbx except the Count. I have no idea why it doesn't, but they do retain their count " -
even P-solids and Slabs aren't really solid though , just 3D "faces" ( hollow cubes) which is the Issue in this case I believe...

The activation dance is a PITA for sure and only effects legitimate Users like us , I am not sure why they don't allow a Desktop and Laptop to be active , but only one in Use at a time? I am a bit surprised CA deleted those threads this morning to say the least ...... posting a Clear statement would of been better for all.... M.

Click on the Cross Box and Open it and change the fill as desired if I understand what you want to do? ***Looks like we posted at the same time....I assumed a section view....not 3D perspective.....

Is There a Way To Save and Open Plans With All Plan Views Open?
Kbird1 replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
Yes , the Ctrl Key to single select items and the Shift Key to group select items...... is the usual way in most Windows Programs -
The CA Method in the KB..... also see what Eric said... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02840/drawing-hvac-ductwork.html

+1 amen to that !
-
Yes but only in Plan View as Michael explained above , I thought the OP was talking about a 3D view from his previous Thread on Brick layers missing, when I posted.
-
Ain't that the truth.... how they all interact and in what Order is a growing problem with each new version. M
-
Yes I assumed 3D after reading his other Thread on "Brick Hatching" but perhaps that was in Plan View too ? could well be I am way off based.... M.

Ray tracing causes the CPU to get very hot , so it could be related to Heat especially on a Laptop as many are not well ventilated , try setting the number of Raytrace Cores in Preferences>Render to 1/2 the number it shows now as test and see if it helps , it will be slower obviously.....

@ACADuser (Alan) I know is fluent in AutoCad so hopefully he will see this Thread and be able to help you out.... M.

This just came up here too but if I have All On Set I see everything...
-
If I use the All On Set , Walls, Main Layer Only is turned on but so is Walls, Normal..... I do not lose the siding unless I deselect Walls, Normal. So what am I doing different or not doing? did I Check Walls, Normal at some point? is that usually Off ? M.

So you copy and paste anything in your X9 template into a fresh Plan made with the X10 default Template? I assume you mean things like Section cameras, text boxes , CAD Details etc , or does your Template also act as your "warehouse plan" and you have all sorts "ready to go" M.
-
Thanks Mark , appreciate it , that is good info to help me get started .....I am thinking I should reinstall X10 and not let it migrate X9 this time ..... but am aware of the Time involved to do that and set everything up again how I like it.... X10 is forcing Macro renaming if you edit one, 1st letter cannot be a Capital...... at 1st I thought I had a keyboard issue M.

Thanks Perry , good to have some feedback on the 390.65 Drivers... M.
