  1. Haven't heard or it but Google seems to think WinThrust is a PUA "potentially Unwanted Application (Adware in this case)" so no you don't want it... downloads for me Okay just tried it for you..... did you try again?
  2. From Speccy: ATI AMD Radeon HD 6900M Series Manufacturer ATI Model AMD Radeon HD 6900M Series GPU Blackcomb Device ID 1002-6720 Subvendor Dell (1028) Driver version 15.200.1062.1004 Memory Type GDDR5 Memory 2048 MB You have a Radeon 6900M with 2GB of Ram and AMD has moved the Radeon 6900 to Legacy Support , and the most recent Driver is version 15.7.1 you currently have 15.2. but 15.7.1 is at the bottom of this Page... http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows 7 - 64
  3. there are a few issues with old plans brought forward I have found so far.... - the new Header Labels don't show properly if the framing isn't rebuilt - Component lists don't update their description fields if changed to show in the New materials list...
  4. Speccy will give you all the info too and the Free Program ( green Icon below) from the same Company as CCleaner https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy *** I just found AMD has an AutoDetect Program you can download which may make things easier for you http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool M.
  5. Gaming Evolved ( discontinued now?) is not the AMD Catalyst Control Center you should have.....it's also by the Clock in the Small menu under the Up arrow perhaps... I would need the actual AMD Card type and Model from Device Manager or the existing AMD CC Center to find the exact Driver you need. but this is basic general help from AMD http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/catalyst-windows-install.aspx Windows 10 Help http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/catalyst-windows-install.aspx#10 KB
  6. it's these kinds of report T.S./Beta team needs to hear otherwise it may not get Fixed ? it maybe a quadro driver issue for example, which not everyone has?
  7. If the Roof over the garage Door is supposed to extend all the way across you may need to break it's edge and drag it left manually and join it to the Porch roof. Auto Returns seem to work all right though in your plan.... M.
  8. That would be my guess too.... make the extension the same as the Overhang though perhaps.... M.
  9. I didn't open your plan , it appeared to be a standard roof return so I didn't go any further..... what is it you want to do? M.
  10. perhaps cos it's on by default? from the help file below...... not sure how it helps in this case ? but I think it is referring to the Fill Pattern/type such as under the Fill tab in some DBX's , I am thinking it is not referring to "Filling in" and making Framing "solid" Fill New Framing Members In Chief Architect X2 and prior, Fill New Framing Members was view-specific; in Chief Architect X10 it applies to the entire plan. As a result, it is turned off by default in legacy plans opened in version X10. See CAD Defaults Dialog.
  11. Try turning off Ray Casted Sun Shadows (RCSS) in the Cameras Settings DBX ...they are Ray traced based so can be slow depending on the CPU, ALL 3D cameras now use them by default.
  12. NVME based SSD if Apple uses them ? , (4x as fast) but a 1TB is huge and will save you some money , likely a 500GB would be enough , you can always get an external as well which is always a good idea for backups anyway....
  13. could be a few things like Eric said....careless use or the Painter or Object properties tool ? but reversing the walls may fix it... if showing interior wall on the other side?
  14. Those are Called Roof Returns in CA and can be done Automatically in the Wall's DBX M.
  15. See if this helps Doug , you do want to make sure the Graphics is set to the AMD Card and you can try different Performance settings too. Quality should give you better Line Work perhaps but maybe at the Cost of some Speed and vica versa... just like in Nvidia CP shown above you can and should assign a profile to Chief Architect.exe. in the AMD Catalyst Software. Assigning a graphics card to an application with AMD Switchable Graphics How can I switch to my high performance AMD graphics card? When an application launches which requires the additional power of the high performance AMD graphics card, systems with AMD Dynamic Switchable Graphics technology seamlessly switch over to that graphics card, and then turn it off when no longer required. The switching to the AMD graphics depends on application profiles. If an application has no such profile, you can assign the graphics card manually: Right-click your desktop, and select Catalyst Control Center. From the Power drop-down menu, select Switchable Graphics. Click Browse and navigate to select the program. Click Power Saving or High Performance to select the graphics card to use for that specific application. NOTE Use of the high performance AMD graphics instead of the integrated graphics can reduce battery life. or if needed Switching manually between two graphics cards How do I switch between the two graphics cards in my Aspire 4820T or 5820T? Some Aspire 4820T or 5820T models have the possibility to switch between the Intel and the ATI Graphics card with an additional utility named Switchable Graphics. SOLUTION Switching between Intel and ATI Graphics cards: Right-click the desktop and select Configure Switchable Graphics. After selecting this option, a new icon appears on the task bar. Click this icon. On the Switchable Graphics tab, click the High-performance GPU. Click Change to allow the program to close all open applications before switching the graphics cards. MORE INFORMATION Normally, the system will switch automatically between the high-performance ATI graphics and the more energy saving Intel graphics, depending on the power source. When the system runs on AC adapter power, it will switch to the ATI graphics card for maximum performance; when the system runs on battery power, it will switch to the Intel graphics to prolong battery life. However, you could need to switch manually, for example to use features specific to the ATI graphics despite running on battery.
  16. Didn't Stephen help you with this?
  17. If they are Brick Walls ? they behave differently as far as alignment goes , Eric and I just helped another User with this issue last week..... M. found it:
  18. Painting walls instead of using the Wall Definition to Change it often causes Issues, especially on the Exterior, as you have noticed , I think it is because Chief only wraps the outer most layer around the end of the wall and you then get z-fighting and the "see through effect" ( stud line showing ) since you maybe only wrapping a 0" thickness of paint around the end for example instead of a 1/2 thick Stucco or Siding. Nice Sig. M.
  19. Thanks , I have already shown him how to replicate the issue/loss per your no# 1-4 above quite easily and he has doesn't think any functionality has been lost or can be done other ways ..... it just looked like you had a working Plan whereas currently I don't one already done like your Images , I'll ask him to check the Thread perhaps. Mick, I understand that the dialogs are different this was on purpose. What I am asking for is what and how were you using this in X9 that you can no longer do in X9? This will help us determine what if anything we need to do to resolve any lost function. Thanks
  20. I was playing with the Fonts in Edit>Preferences If I set it to Application and Custom Settings, it changes the Contents Pane , open pages and Menu Font text sizes etc, But I don't seem to have the same luck if I Set it to Browser ( which I assumed was the Help file html ) and try the same thing.... you can set it but nothing happens apparently I'll keep playing and see what happens , perhaps I messed a setting up playing with it last week?
  21. Thanks , Are you in Full screen or ? I usually have it open on about 1/2 or 1/3 of a 1980 wide screen i use on the side for this and email etc , and found I was having to scroll left / right if zoomed in too far, I guess I need to play more with different settings maybe as that looks pretty big? and is wrapping to the Window properly. Did you reset the fonts in the browser? or the application? I have no idea what either is referring too , would you mind doing a screen grab for me thanks.... as they seem to reset the settings if you close it.... Is that Tahoma Font ? M.
  22. Hi Cliff , following up again , I guess I am not explaining things well to Brian , he want's a plan showing the functionality in X9 that was lost in X10, so I am wondering if you can Post the plan you used as an example above and I will forward it too him , as it seems you are Using this feature more than me to Update the ML to your needs. Mick.
  23. If you did find X8 now and then decided to upgrade to X10 in 6-9 months that is likely to cost you another $1300 , so think about it as X8 does not allow you to buy SSA either , (X9 would if you get it before X10 comes out) you can only get it for the current version but Costs the same as HD Pro ($495) . If you got HD PRO in the next month or two ( wait for 2019 version perhaps? March maybe? ) you would get your $500 back as a rebate on Chief Premier or Interiors in the future. If you can afford the $200 month to rent it maybe a good option , though it dos Cost more in the long run ( Add 20% ) as it is now 16 months x $200 I believe , and if you miss a month the 16mths restarts as they need to be consecutive before you gain Ownership. M.
  24. Thanks Mark , I know you are just trying to help but I was aware of that , it's what started the question...ie all the scrolling around while zoomed in. I am guessing they restrict the font size to 8 point , to restrict the size of the Download ( smaller file size) on each Upgrade ie saves them money.... there seems to be no way to change the Font once it is "complied" , at least not without expert help. re: the 1st post : I know I can zoom in on it but that causes you to have to scroll back and forwards or make the Window wider , so I'm hoping I've missed something.....
