  1. Why are you moving it? Like CS , I have now found if I place a single one on the beam center it Auto-cuts the Joists either side of the beam, but if you rely on the Beam's own (built-in) Bearing line it joins them in the center as you experienced.
  2. The Ctrl Key should disable Snapping temporarily......I haven't tried it in this particular situation though. Posting the Plan so Others can Play with your particular situation is always best, just make sure the Plan is not open in Chief when you attach it. Make it Clear you are Using X7.... *** CS/Perry's double Bearing Line does work in X10 , otherwise they auto cut on the center line of the beam even if not bearing on top of it. M.
  3. The Logitech and Mac OS maybe fighting or over-riding each other....make sure to use the latest Version of the Logitech Software , it has been updated for Mojave. *** looks like you may have found the issue though why it would change on it own I don't know.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/20294-optimize-scrolling-zoom-in-layout-views/?do=findComment&comment=165312
  4. did you install the Logitech Mac Software? Options or Control Center should support your Mouse. in Windows my Logitech stuff crawls until I install as there is no acceleration applied etc. let me know which Logitech Mouse if you can't find the download.... Mick.
  5. Yes Auto Roof rebuild..... but to lock individual Roof Planes you need to put them on a new "Roof Planes-Locked" Layer for example and then lock it...... the down side is that you can no longer then use the Auto Join Tool as you can't select locked layers. M.
  6. Not that I am aware of , so I do what Glen does and don't use the TP as the Plot M.
  7. I don't want to argue about it , but look again, he added a whole 2nd level (3rd floor in your plan) that your plan does not have.....ie. you have 0,1,A he has 0,1,2,A Mine BTW has 0,1,2,3,A , as it is Built using Chief's normal paradigms.... as I noted above, but you can do it any number of ways, but you may run into unexpected issues , especially if you try to use A for anything but what Chief expects...as no Rooms can be created on A , so you can't use Open to below if desired, no flooring can seen etc etc. Is my plan perfect , probably not but here you go...... Ames Barn_MHD.plan
  8. It's not about YOUR Room Label.....but Chief uses Levels like A for certain things. So it does matter, Chief won't allow Rooms on A level by default....Chief doesn't think of A as a Floor "level" hence no auto stairs, as it needs a Level (floor) above to do that. If you read his Post again you will see he ADDED another Floor level as I suggested too... Check Chief Architect X10 Reference Manual Page 722 ...The Attic Floor If you wish to create an attic loft, bonus room, or storage area in your plan, you will need do so on a numbered floor level.
  9. seems to be working fine here ,straight up looks like this for me when I tab it.....
  10. I think you have your Floor levels mixed up as I see the Foundation Level Named Basement and there is no 2nd or 3rd Floor in the Plan. If the Concrete Block Level is in fact above Ground then Insert a Floor Below it so you have a Foundation Level. (Level 0 is always Foundation) The 3rd level in the Plan is A (Attic) which is why the StairTool won't go up there , if you want a 3rd Floor with Rooms in the Attic make an Extra Floor with a 0" Ceiling height, and check ignore Top Level when you rebuild the Roof, turn off Auto Roofs and the reset the Ceiling Height to your desired height. this is the Technique: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00772/building-a-cape-cod-roof-by-adjusting-ceiling-heights.html
  11. Did you place these appliances on the ground before inserting them into the Cabinet? if so doing that will change the Symbols Origins , change the Y axis to 0" and it should work as expected. Chief expects you to insert these into a Cabinet so the y Origin is Usually in the 22-24" range to allow for this..... You will need to add a 15" Cabinet where the Compactor is so that the Countertop builds over the Compactor too...I just copied the one to the left and pushed it in here :
  12. I am not so sure ... Same User, same Plan with weird Issues, some think is a Bug.... Bad/Corrupt Template perhaps?
  13. The Plan File is the 1st Download Glen , ( i have covered porch.plan) but when you 1st open it the Plan is covered with a PDF image you need to move or delete 1st. (All On Layerset Set is being used) 100% Auto maybe tough but it looks like you need to ignore the 2nd floor when you Build the roof and it will require a two pitch roof off the RH Porch and the Front Porch as well but with the Dutch gable setting , then worry about the Dormers once the house is complete. May even be wise to disconnect the Garage at 1st and let Auto build do it's thing, as the garage is done easily manually if needed. *** there are issues with the RH Porch which need fixing 1st, so the roof builds correctly , ie the porch floor is 12" above grade and the Porch next to the garage is missing. The Garage is not defined as a garage Either... M.
  14. Sounds like you have unchecked Roof Over this Room and perhaps the Ceiling Too for the Porch....both should be on by default in the Porch Room Definition, for Decks they are Off.
  15. The OP is Correct in that 2017 or X8 was the last version of the Chief Products that came in 32bit or 64bit Chief and I assume the Home products have been 64bit only since X9 ......and if you have a 32bit version of Win10 or earlier they can't be installed. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02761/chief-architect-minimum-system-requirements.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amazon still has it in the US it seems, though more expensive than 2019 ATM as 2019 is 20% off for Thanksgiving..... DOUBLE check the 32bit support 1st as it says there are no refunds or returns on it.... https://www.amazon.com/Home-Designer-Suite-2017-Download/dp/B01COALIL8 https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/home-designer-suite/
  16. Hi JM , do you mean 3"=1'-0" not 3" = 1"-0" ? I always seem to forget to switch Annoset when doing this kind of thing till I see the same as Greg....
  17. Yep some strange goings on ..... I think while you Practice? Rocky , I'd try with a new CA OOB Default Template plan , it looks like the Roof Hole around the 2nd storey Walls isn't being generated for some reason... and like your other Thread there are weird little roof planes here and there, even using Auto Roofs.....
  18. Auto Roofs are Off Rocky , seems to build okay once back on , though you appear to have a few "extra" roof planes in there eg just to the left of the Balloon perhaps 3 there ? edit : almost forgot.....the circled 2 is an extra Room Divider
  19. Perhaps you can't see it cos' ^^^^^^^ Not sure which Sample plan you have but are you sure the Arch isn't done with a Doorway (Trim) or Polyline Solids? to be continued in your Own thread PS the important info for you Sig. is the software Version being used, as there are different answers for different versions sometimes as features have evolved. M.
  20. A side-effect of this for me yesterday was it turned back on ALL Room Labels ( I have them off when "working") even though they were set not to Display in the ALDO, so I had to remove them Manually again. Can't remember if I was in X9 or X10 when I tried it to confirm Joe's Post though. M.
  21. If you try this turn on the All On Set 1st ( and make sure every layer has the blue check mark) then paste into a new Plan. At least in my experience recently, it only copies things that were "visible" despite there also being a Visible edit area option. M.
  22. I don't think Auto save works unless you name a Files does it Joe ? unless that change in x10? as I got hit in x9 with the same problem and had to start again as I forgot to Name the new File as soon as I opened it. ( and frequently as I drew )
  23. Same answer as last time....... Through your digital locker>Manage Licences If that fails Call Sales to have it done at their End for you.....
  24. If Room Labels are on and you don't see it then post the plan so someone can have a look.... you did zoom out right ? incase you moved it down or to the side? M.
  25. That is what Joe mentioned above ....running the Plan Check should bring it back... Tools>Checks>PlanCheck just ok your way through it and the last one should bring it back ....does here....
