  1. I use the Free BullZip PDF Printer usually ( and not just for Chief ) , file sizes are generally smaller , sometime by a substantial amount, but depending on line weights and Colour the Built-In Chief PDF Printer can give the best Output. Chief will Update ALL views before it Prints by default, (AFAIK) this is likely the cause of the Delay at Print Start Up especially if using Live View not Plot lines. Chief can be slow reproducing alot of Lines , which may account for the Slow down when a Survey with lots of elevation lines is included....
  2. Try increasing the Maximum Bump Distance in Preferences>Edit>Snap Properties>Options to 200 ( allows a move of further distance before bumping is turned off automatically I believe) and lower down is the Bumping Pushing Setting under Other Snaps................ is it checked?
  3. It maybe in the Tips Forum, Michael (AlaskanSon) wrote a post or two about making the "Cutout Tool" to make using the Wall Layer Cutouts easier. @Alaskan_Son
  4. As Eric said you can Rotate the Symbol if indeed it is a Symbol , however looking at the Pic it appears to be in the correct orientation going by the tapering of the center section....no ? M.
  5. The Ceiling plane is just not snapped to the Invisible wall properly, if you pull the ceiling plane up ( as viewed) and let it resnap as you come back down, it's all good. I believe that was the fix found in the Thread Steve and Eric are talking about from a few months ago as I remember it.....
  6. Check the Offering Forum , think I saw a X7 for Sale a while back....
  7. With Polyline Solids would be my guess , and later export and re-import to make a Window Symbol if needed. I don't think the Window Tool will make that Shape , if that's what you were wondering. Don't forget to do your Forum signature at some point...... M.
  8. I find all the Time that whether you get to use the Dimension is often dependant on the Zoom Level.....usually zooming in (mouse wheel) lets me open the Dimension Number DBX........if that doesn't work you have the wrong one is my guess or the Object can't be resized with Dims. If you use manual or Automatics Dims you won't get temporary dims so YMMV depending on what you are trying to do. M.
  9. Version 7 not X7 right ? cos X7 is still available in the Online Library , some go further back than that....
  10. Nothing wrong with Learning Manual Roof Planes or even Manual Dormers , all good to know as it will be required at some point , but with a straight Gable Roof Auto is a Time saver, I still let Auto do it's thing 1st and then make changes as/if needed. Auto Dormers aren't good in all situations but they usually work fair well at eliminating the Issues you saw. M.
  11. On a simple Roof like this one it really shouldn't be needed at all, this is easy for and Auto Roof Build , and you could also use Auto Floating Dormers too..... M.
  12. Not good , likely the Seal has gone , so the panel needs replacing...
  13. You need the Library provide by Chief or is that what you meant? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/991 or a library found here provide by DMD Designs .... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18903-free-glass-panel-door-door-system/?tab=comments#comment-155651
  14. If you are having issues , it is always best to post the.plan file if you can ( make sure not open in Chief 1st) , also it is best to use the Snipping Tool in Accessories or some other Screen Capture program so the Pics are clearer.....Phone pics never seem to look good ...but I think the camera lens may need a clean too in this case. This is not uncommon with steep pitched Roofs in particular ....... sometime the Wall Polyline will do it other times not....
  15. Your Welcome.... perhaps edit your 1st post and add Solved to the Title and a link to the Files so people don't have to read the whole thread
  16. CA X10 compatible Style Templates.... CA Style Templates X10.zip MODs may remove file.....
  17. Ahhhh...I guess I did Migrate that Folder Forward then..... I don't think there are MAC specific versions perse but I am also not sure if I can post them Publicly or not? Did TS say anything about that?
  18. The Winders setting in the Staircase DBX may help but the easiest way is usually with a series of landings shaped as needed and set to the correct heights manually.
  19. Every Version I have has them ...unless they were migrated forward as I upgraded? ***It's possible CA Templates is a Folder I made myself ??? and moved the Style templates too it , so the main Folder wasn't as cluttered but in X9 they are also backed up in the C:\Programs\xxx\xxx\xxx Folder
  20. MAC Os maybe slightly different ?, I am not sure what CE is either, my default Templates are in the Data/Templates Folder and the Style Templates are in the Data/CA Templates Folder. [solved]
  21. Oh I thought you said you have them in Chief Architect Premier X10 Data\Templates\CA Templates ? did you look in Chief Architect Premier X10 Data\Textures by accident? and no don't open the Textures.zip file....
  22. there are multiple threads on this exact situation , but the best way is to overlap two staircases by one riser/tread so they don't join together.....(one upto the wall , one between the walls) ie set the bottom height of the second set to the same height as the second to last tread of the 1st set ( top height minus one Riser Height) M.
