  1. There was a similar post last week and it was a Wall definition issue with which layer the platform was assign to build too. still just a guess though since you didn't attach the Plan. M.
  2. Short Screen Grab Tutorial https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/24813-how-to-make-a-screen-grab-of-a-tile-into-a-tile-material-in-chief /?tab=comments#comment-199676
  3. There are quite a few Plans and threads on Fascia Mounted Railings on the Forum from the past 6-8 yrs I'd say.... There is even one of your own from 2019 https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/24078-how-can-one-put-railings-outboard-deck-or-stair-lines/?tab=comments#comment-194038
  4. You were clear , I guess I wasn't , I meant for you to ask him some Questions or PM him, he is one of the few with VR on the Forums... M.
  5. There aren't many I am aware of using VR , but Rene has a Thread in the Chat Room.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/31586-working-entirely-in-vr-any-other-users-out-there-doing-this/?tab=comments#comment-248887
  6. that is MY Hotkey , ( not a defualt one) you will need to set it up if you also want to use it too. Mick.
  7. You can add your own via Tools> Customise HotKeys ( Ctrl P is the default for Print , which I didn't use )
  8. Chief has in on by Default in the Standard Plan Template ( Residental Template ) , so it will happen each time you start a New Plan if using Chief's Template. Mick.
  9. Turn off Auto Refresh in your Template Plan ( for permanent fix) or any Plan and they won't generate automatically as you build the Home.
  10. Also guilty .........This is one of X13 new changes after many of us asked for it to remain active, you may need to make sure your Temp. dims sync with your selected Dim Defaults eg Surfaces vs Wall Dimension Layer https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02963/features-introduced-in-each-version-of-chief-architect.html
  11. Even in Premier, Chief's Renderings are not truly Photo Realistic , and at this point Chief will not allow 3rd Parties like D5 Renderer to make plugins, as they are working on their own new Ray Tracing GPU based Render , though it is not Photo Realistic either ( and does not claim to be.) M.
  12. One we have used here is to Drill the steel Post in both directions ( sized as needed ) , and insert pieces of rebar right through and weld them into the post, and crank as needed. Can be tied into Wall Rebar system too. M.
  13. Allan is showing it in Autocad I think not Chief , it looks like that in TurboCAD for me too , it is a 3D model as I thought, however Chief will import it, but once you import it into Chief, ALL the imported Layers are OFF (not displayed) once checked on you will see them like this... or with a black background As it is a 3D model I would go back to the Source if possible and ask for a 2D DWG for each Floor.... Mick
  14. Chief only imports 2D DWGs ( from the modelspace ) as far as I know ....... ( file name suggests a 3D model? ) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00283/troubleshooting-dwg-dxf-file-import-issues.html Mick.
  15. Check your HOTKEYS LIST for macOS .........NOTE ALL answers refer to Chief Premier X13 , not the Home-Designer Line... so please do your Sig.
  16. And the End Users eg another is why does the Content Team not add common Search Attributes to Objects so the library search works better... ( good job for the Summer Intern ) M.
  17. I have similar issues and placing lights , instead of relying on the Automatic light helps.... you can test this is a test house with no windows or doors.... M.
  18. As an Aside Dermot typing Cursor into the new Help system get you no result , neither does "persistent Pointer Icons" , though I am not sure why it is not called a Cursor , as you yourself pointed out rather than a Pointer? Even a search for Pointer Icons doesn't take you straight to it.....but it's there under Input Devices
  19. Thanks I'd appreciate it , nice looking Project BTW. Mick
  20. Those are indeed Roof planes , look at the Training Videos for Roofs........ https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/25/drawing-roofs-manually.html?playlist=95 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/playlists/95/roofs.html
  21. ALT-Z is the default hotkey for a default Cursor
  22. you can set your Resize About Default temporarily to Inner Surface and also set Temp. dims to uses Surfaces. there is a Series on Videos for doing Remodels that may help too........... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/playlists/120/remodeling.html
  23. Try copy reflect the good Framing instead.... looks like on the right they aren't sensing the Roof Space and are dropping down flat though.
  24. I agree , it is just not the same anymore , it was much Cleaner/Crisper in X12 and good enough for most of my Clients, I feel the same about the STD PBR cameras too actually, and am starting to thinking buying a 3080 was a mistake as the Hype of RTRT has just not been delivered yet..... ( 1 version too early for public release? ) M.
  25. NOoooo ! ..... Make dedicated Cameras just for Client Views ( I also use them for some 3D pics in Layout ) and DON'T Move them...ever, copy them as Mark mentioned for a close as you'll get starting point ..... M.
