  1. My bet since those walls are glowing.
  2. I believe what you are looking for is called a hung joist floor system. Open the foundation wall you want to have the floor system hung from and check the options in the structure panel of the wall dbx.
  3. So, this seems to be a bug to me. I figured out the same thing as Michael mentions above, that it has to do with the footing in particular. Playing with another wall I figured out that if you remove the footing for the wall, close, refresh and then put it back then the door works fine.
  4. Make the regular juniper plant larger and force it into the ground so the top is "cascading" over the rocks???
  5. Post the plan please.
  6. I didn’t watch the video but I am guessing you are using the point load Pad footing tool which is tied to the center of the wall not the newel posts. You can use them but you need to set your railing walls to the thickness of your posts for it to work properly. You can still set your beam to whatever width and height you want on the rail panel of the wall dbx. Other alternative is to set your walls to invisible and use the post with footing tool and manually place posts footings and beams so you have more control.
  7. Sorry I read that twice and did not see this. Otherwise I would have mentioned the same as Mick did that sometimes a manually adjusted pattern size when it is manually adjusted in offset as well does not work to synchronize the pattern and texture. It only seems to work if it’s the original ratio.
  8. Vector view uses patterns, Normal view uses textures.
  9. This can be done with a custom hatch pattern. I don't have the need for it personally so have never purchased it but I believe that @Alaskan_Sonuses and previously recommended hatchkit.com.au/ (only for PC). Then create your glass that you like to use with that pattern type...
  10. Snipping tool with a png keeps the file way smaller and you can also use excel spreadsheet data directly in chief if you drag it over.
  11. Using the U shaped stair tool works perfectly fine as shown in Steve's video. What the issue we are talking about here is how you are adjusting them afterwards and expecting the program to work differently than it's designed. Looking at your video I would recommend trying to move things using the point to point tool and the Tab and enter distance tools. It will make a world of difference in your adjustments in the program instead of having to deal with bumping issues.
  12. Moving the stairs will also move the landing attached to it so when you moved the stairs the extra 1/2" or so then it moved the landing that amount as well after it had already snapped to the wall. I would recommend changing your workflow to what I mentioned above to move them. Place your stairs and then when they are right then add the landing with the standard stair tool.
  13. Ryan: the last time I tried that - many versions ago - it left some pieces and parts behind Using the Edit>Select all option works.
  14. It has to do with the landing in particular being designed to auto snap to walls. If you are having a hard time select and delete the landing. Line up stair sections how you want them and then using the stair tool click in the middle of the area where the stair landing should go. It will place and auto size the new landing and connect it to the stairs. (Does not work as well for split landings but you can do that and then pull the landing back to where you want to transition to the second landing and do the same thing.)
  15. Have a look for "Corner Windows" in the help file.
  16. All-Off Layer set > Turn On-Stairs Layer sets (railing walls if necessary) > Select all visible > Grab move handle drag in direction/Press Tab and enter 1"...
  17. One thing to try is to turn the automatic preview off by default. Open another file and unselect it and save.
  18. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00166/creating-and-editing-molding-profiles.html Hint: Google your question and add chief architect at the end brings up everything including chieftalk, chief architect training articles, youtube videos from other users, and more.
  19. So the 2x4 or 2x6 wall cuts at one point and turns into a 2x8 wall then it cuts again and goes back to the other size? Does that help you figure out how to do it? Hint: If it is 2x4 or 2x6 at the base then adjusts to a 2x8 wall a bit off the floor then you can use a pony wall and set it to be flush at interior.
  20. Use a custom sill profile set to size.
  21. SAME process as I said above. At the end when you have it ready open your layout file (including the layout boxes from both plans) and use backup entire file (what you should do either way when sending to that person/trainer.) This will compile everything needed including textures, plan files, and layout files into one backup folder.
  22. Are you trying to put the cad details into your layout? If so you can reference the other plan (For example I have a Cad detail stock plan to reference my cad details I use alot). It doesn't have to be in the same plan as your model. If you are wanting something else perhaps you can explain more.
  23. For the exterior insulation create a wall that is a partition wall that is layers of rigid and the cement board only and place it around the exterior of the slab. For the Floor add it to the floor structure:
