I am not following your process. A picture speaks a thousand words sometimes. Try taking screen shots with the snipping tool. The more shots the better.

I am not a rendering artist like many on here but make sure you have your maximum light count turned WAY up when you use rope lights as in default it is set to have a light every 3" and more often if you change that. That means for a 8ft long piece of rope lighting you will have 36 lights. When you have it set at 8 or 20 lights that is not enough to even turn on the rope light. So turn that way up. BTW This type of post is usually better served in your own post instead of another thread as you most likely will need to share some settings, pictures, and/or your plan file, if it is not something easy to diagnose. But in this case I would start with making sure you have enough lights activated and then start your own thread if you need to.

In some cases you will need to give the Structure of your ceiling plane a 0 thickness as the scissor truss or rounded truss/rafter tends to cut-it off so you are better manually framing that if you need to show it, Or frame it with the proper thickness then turn off auto rebuild ceilings and change the ceiling plane back to 0 thickness structure.

Try changing that to an attic wall and set it under the roof panel for roof cuts wall at bottom.

My suspicion of what is happening as well. I think many users have the misconception that when you manually adjust your dimensions you lose the automatic behavior because Chief thinks you want to over-ride it otherwise you would have told it to automatically do it to begin with. It's basically the program telling itself, okay this is a special use case so the user wants to override the defaults, give the user total control...

Just an FYI with using the regular stair tool as I highlighted above you can set your treads as a separate material.

Good to know you don’t have to make that change first now. I wonder if this is a change in x13 that I didn’t notice. I am pretty sure you did have to in x12. But Really I have been doing it that way for a while as it used to be once you select no stringers the Height Below Tread option was grayed out so I haven’t tried.

You can easily make a fully concrete stair set without the lines using the stair tool. The key to not showing stringer lines is before you remove stringers set your below stringer height to a high number like 100 or so then remove stringers, set tread overhang and thickness to 0, closed risers, not open below and a quick change to all concrete in materials and good to go. Save one to your library and just adjust on each plan. Here is a rough picture as I did this on my phone from a screen grab but gives you the idea.

Other possibility is that is actually a ceiling rafter and it looks like a roof rafter?

Chief doesn’t know what to put there because the layer doesn’t have depth. It’s best to do as chopsaw says and custom mix a color with your drywall otherwise at least some thickness to the paint.

p2p is exactly that not snapping to anything but rather going to the point you indicate with your cursor.

I had the need to do this about a year ago and found no other way to do it at that time other than turning on footing turn off foundation walls and then place polylines over the footings (did allow me to place different hatches for different types and heights of footings which was a bonus). Then I was able to dimension to the footings. But it was not dynamic and also something that I would not normally do for a client but this was for a friend.

Do you still have it checked to hang your floor system inside the foundation?

Also doable. You will just see a thicker center on the bottom.

For the future this is good information to include in your request. Screen shots posted directly (not making people download anything) are also key to getting good answers. And if it looks like a more serious issue the plan file is even more helpful. Again a guess based on this information but where you setup your pony wall look below there to see which walls are displaying and this may help you out.
