Adjusting Monolithic footing in the Wall Definition Menu
rgardner replied to RobWhite's topic in General Q & A
Change your build platform to layer 1 or 2 not 4 and not sure if the offset will actually build a brick ledge like you show. -
My railing is sticking out of sloped ceiling
rgardner replied to chiefwinnie25's topic in General Q & A
The 2nd floor has a negative ceiling height. Set it to 1.5" rough so the rafters/trusses sit on a sill plate as it would be built I.R.L. Then set your railing to balloon frame in the structure panel. Remove Newel posts as mentioned in the other posts. BTW. Not good practice to manually adjust wall heights and that is your issue with other artefacts in your plan. You can fix that by selecting all the walls and making sure default top and bottom wall heights are selected on the structure panel of the wall dbx. Another tip is to fill out your signature so we know what software and hardware you are working with. In this case I was able to see the x13 in the picture but gets you more help when you put that in your signature so everyone can see it and respond appropriately. Hope this all helps. -
Pretty sure that @DavidJPotterIs the only one who still has and offers training in x-5???

With all due respect wasn't this you who had this identical issue just like a week or two ago? Your roof planes are not straight or connected properly.

I think what Erick is referring to here is the “custom problem”. This is not a custom problem it is something not being set correctly causing the issues. @solverworks hard to try to help people post in the right forums for a reason. So searching is as accurate as possible.

I believe Dermot is seeing an error in that code and wants the OP to call tech support to get it fixed. @RezaGholami1991 you should probably call and make sure you have your license key handy.

Don’t think that has changed since x12

Take a look at the wall default for foundations. If you need more info hit the help button when you are there and see what it has to say at #4 about sill plates.

Hard to say for sure without the plan but my guess is that you set the piers at the level of the porch and they are set to be at 0 of floor instead of absolute or based on terrain. Since you set them on that floor when you move the room to include them completely it moves them out of the exterior room and into the porch room and changes the height to match.

If it didn't work and you had a plan file open then that is a bug and should be reported. It works for me but has always needed a plan file open for it to work. Both ways it should be reported I believe.

The answer is right in the box below. Your computer does not meet the minimum software requirements.
-
Seems like I remember something about a glitch like this that it wasn’t working to just open it but works by dragging it into Chief with a plan file open. Probably best to report it either way.

I thought there was an its for that size in the 3d library? I have one in my library but it is possible that I resized one that was there and saved it??? I use that size often.

Do you have all the lights set to use in CPU RT?

You will need to use a photo editor to create a pattern.

Using 3D beams but editing plan view to be single dashed line?

Agree you are not going to make many friends like that. And What is up with your signature? Looks like you copied @Kbird1's signature to yours?

Are you looking for 2d or 3d? There are a lot of networking and other outlets in the core libraries. Generally I just annotate and place a cabinet or just a 2d box for an AV Network cabinet or in a closet. If you need to model it in 3d then would need to know what equipment you are using and what you need to model. But generally a cabinet can be adapted rather quickly to be a network rack.

gaps above ceiling planes when using room dividers or invisible walls

Is the trey ceiling set to inset into ceiling? -
Most likely it is sticking through a wall or ceiling/roof assembly and locking up the lighting from the sun. If you toggle the sun off and it goes away that is the issue.
