Didn't download your plan but do you have your lighting set to more than 20 lights (or 8 if an older template plan) that is set with the template? Those get eaten up quickly especially if you have any rope lighting in your kitchen or baths.

I must not be understanding what is going on here. A WALL MATERIAL REGION will cutout for windows/doors so if you applied a WMR on a wall with windows you shouldn't have to be creating any holes.

This is untrue. Upwork does charge the client as well as the provider.

Just to add it’s not necessary to keep auto build but you will need to reframe the walls you need framed differently after you change that wall type to have a 12” oc framing spec. Note fastest is to COPY the wall definition and rename it then change the spacing.

That is probably a foundation footing step indicator. Separate layer. Turn it off or remove the step in the footing.

original ship date was 10 weeks from when I ordered it. It shipped after 4 weeks. This was about a month ago. +/-

How are you sending them to your layout? I would recommend sending them as a picture in the layout dbx instead of using a live view. Live view will work and once you print them the live view will update and not be blurry but if there is no chance of them changing as a live view would update then send them as a pic. Live views are designed to take less computer resources when they are not being used so they go blurry a little bit when not using them or not printing.

When you import a cad file you are literally importing cad lines only, no model information. You would have to rebuild the model completely and accurately to get the materials list to work. However chief is a very complete program and there are some very skilled Architectural designers, Engineers, and architects on this forum who can do the plans for you and at the same time provide a chief model and materials list for your project. Why buy them online instead of having a custom plan developed for you here?

Have you tried any other files, and specifically the oob x14 chief template? Or, have you added any outside symbols to your library lately? X14 other than a recent toolbar issue with the last patch has been very stable and much snappier than x13 for me anyways.

Out of Box (common acronym used on here) the #3 key is the keyboard shortcut for the break tool that you are looking for.

Hint oob the 3 key is the break tool.

Just confirming that you did this step that @joey_martin states above. Simply deselecting the flat ceiling above option does not replace the ceiling plane, you have to manually place any other ceiling planes. Otherwise you will just get the bottom of your roof structure.

Yup exactly.. What I was saying was just for the label and would take other adjustments for the schedule. That is why I think he should get a macro from you. Didn't realize you were still selling macros though.

You are correct that the 2d representation of the jamb is showing incorrectly. It is not as obvious when you do not use a color for your wall definition. What the door size is showing though is the Overall with jamb (If you want the option to see the door slab then you should make a suggestion for it) so if you are using a door manufacturer who supplies for example a true 36" door slab plus the 3/4" jambs then you need to place a 37.5" wide door and change your label to be specify with either Joe's macro or cobble together a much less impressive one such as %(width-jamb_side_width*2)%. You will need to also make adjustments to your schedule.

IMHO it works as it should but the OOB template probably does not have the IRL size set as it should. It is highly customizable to show whatever you want and the snaps are there. The 36" exterior door for the OOB template is actually showing a 34.5" slab with 1.5" frame. You are assuming that you are setting the slab size but you are actually setting the overall size when you use the 36" size... Again EVERY manufacturer uses different settings so the parametric tools are there you just need to setup your template the way that you want it to be shown using the tools how they were designed. If you need help dialing in your door/window labels, or your dimension defaults give us an example of what you want to see and myself or one of the other very helpful users will try to help you get it setup how you want. Hope this helps.

Age old architectural standards argument and reason why I personally have chosen to use dimension to center of door and window. EVERY manufacturer has different standards and the framers will need to adapt to the specified door standards. Unless you have ALL of the product order information and it is pre-approved by builder and/or client in which case you can set the rough and final framing specifications.

BTW there are factory set keyboard shortcuts that sometimes inadvertently can get pushed which will toggle things on and off. F1 key while using a tool or the help files are extremely helpful.

It’s not a floor joist? I haven’t seen that. maybe an older file brought forward issue. Can you replicate it in a new template? Post a plan.
