  1. Just confirming that you did this step that @joey_martin states above. Simply deselecting the flat ceiling above option does not replace the ceiling plane, you have to manually place any other ceiling planes. Otherwise you will just get the bottom of your roof structure.
  2. Maybe ask the user who uploaded that video. @Renerabbitt
  3. A warning about this method is that you won't be able to rotate the North arrow at the same time as the polyline so you would need to figure out the rotate amount to rotate the north arrow to show correctly if you want to do so.
  4. Yup exactly.. What I was saying was just for the label and would take other adjustments for the schedule. That is why I think he should get a macro from you. Didn't realize you were still selling macros though.
  5. You are correct that the 2d representation of the jamb is showing incorrectly. It is not as obvious when you do not use a color for your wall definition. What the door size is showing though is the Overall with jamb (If you want the option to see the door slab then you should make a suggestion for it) so if you are using a door manufacturer who supplies for example a true 36" door slab plus the 3/4" jambs then you need to place a 37.5" wide door and change your label to be specify with either Joe's macro or cobble together a much less impressive one such as %(width-jamb_side_width*2)%. You will need to also make adjustments to your schedule.
  6. IMHO it works as it should but the OOB template probably does not have the IRL size set as it should. It is highly customizable to show whatever you want and the snaps are there. The 36" exterior door for the OOB template is actually showing a 34.5" slab with 1.5" frame. You are assuming that you are setting the slab size but you are actually setting the overall size when you use the 36" size... Again EVERY manufacturer uses different settings so the parametric tools are there you just need to setup your template the way that you want it to be shown using the tools how they were designed. If you need help dialing in your door/window labels, or your dimension defaults give us an example of what you want to see and myself or one of the other very helpful users will try to help you get it setup how you want. Hope this helps.
  7. Age old architectural standards argument and reason why I personally have chosen to use dimension to center of door and window. EVERY manufacturer has different standards and the framers will need to adapt to the specified door standards. Unless you have ALL of the product order information and it is pre-approved by builder and/or client in which case you can set the rough and final framing specifications.
  8. It is building exactly how you have it set. You need to set the extend amount.
  9. BTW there are factory set keyboard shortcuts that sometimes inadvertently can get pushed which will toggle things on and off. F1 key while using a tool or the help files are extremely helpful.
  10. It’s not a floor joist? I haven’t seen that. maybe an older file brought forward issue. Can you replicate it in a new template? Post a plan.
  11. I wouldn't recommend it for the reason I mentioned above. Asking for a job-site error.
  12. You may have the hotkey changed. With them selected go to the edit menu for the program... use the CUT fuction to temporarily remove the walls, (CTRL+X is the OOB hotkey for the Cut function).
  13. This is also an option but architecturally speaking it would not be accurate so it would quite possibly cause issues for permits and/or construction as it would cause confusion.
  14. Lots of options. My technique would probably be: 1.) Select all of those walls and use CTRL+X to temporarily cut them out. 2.) Take a Cad detail from view 3.) Go back to live view and do CTRL+ALT+V to paste in place the walls back. 4.) Return to the Cad Detail you made. 5.) Delete all of the superfluous cad work except the stairs you want to see behind the wall. 6.) Marquis select the stair lines and change to a dashed line style and use CTRL+C to copy them all 7.) Return to the Live view and use CTRL+ALT+V to paste them in place so they now show as dashed lines as if you were "seeing through" the walls that are there.
  15. With a custom molding line
  16. Use that tool to move it how you want it copy your to next page and paste.
  17. Your teapot is maybe on vector view instead of standard or PBR. Since your new texture does not have a "PATTERN" associated with it you are not seeing it...
  18. Most likely your auto roofs is turned off. If you adjust any of the roofs it will turn the auto-roof off.
  19. Doug is right. This should be in the offering services section which is also for selling chief related products and chief licenses.
  20. I believe (I am not an attorney obviously and I recommend you consult one to be sure) that Arizona is like Washington that unless you provided a written right to lien property which they signed or sent a certified mail within 90 days of commencement of work that you no longer have lien rights. Again that is the case in Washington state and I did live and work in Arizona for a short while and I believe it was the same case there.
  21. yes, Please report and send them your plan file.
  22. Post your plan file again. Most likely one of the steps was missed or didn't have all the settings saved.
  23. Looks like you have a separately placed panel possibly? If so you should be able to apply the crown molding on the panel as well. Btw this is a good way to setup style palettes for future use. Or buy one of the trainers cabinet toolsets for kitchen and bath cabinets. Will set you ahead light years with chief in interior work especially!
  24. Your signature doesn’t say what system you are using windows or Max. But in whatever program you are copying the picture from you can right click and select copy, or Ctrl+C/Cmd+C depending on your system and then inside Chief you can paste it using edit paste or the hot key which oob (out of box (I.e unless you changed it) Ctrl+V/Cmd+V to paste it into the plan file. You can also drag the picture file into Chief. Hope this helps. If you could please take the time to fill out some basic system specs in your signature this helps people answer questions just like this.
