  1. Very hard to tell in this picture but a few things come to mind as possibility. Best would be to include your plan in this post after closing chief first. 1.) Did you manually adjust the wall below or the wall this door is in place? Select both walls and in the structures panel of the wall DBX make sure that default wall top and bottom height check boxes are selected. 2.) Is the door sitting on the subfloor like it should be (at 0 elevation)? If it is raised up then the apron might be set to this and that might be what you are seeing. Hard to tell from the picture but in the door casing panel of the door dbx midway to the bottom is the option to use the sill apron.
  2. Probably not actually what you are looking for but is what you are asking for. Set your ceiling height at 12’ turn off flat ceiling in the rooms then place a 0 slope ceiling plane at the 9’ and 10’ heights just like it would be built in real life.
  3. Too close together. Put the different elevation lines or regions on either side of the retaining wall with a break in the middle of the wall. Too close together will cause the spikes.
  4. Your terrain information is too close together.
  5. Not positibve you can do this in HDP as this is the forum for Chief Architect Premier. But look to see if in your room DBX in the general panel under floor structure if you can add more than just the 4" of concrete floor to the structure and add the 1" or 2" Rigid Insulation under the concrete layer.
  6. As mentioned because you are now placing the load from the porch roof in the middle of those two windows. You now will have oversized headers which may cause issues with energy efficiency but now will most likely require four point load bearing footers instead of just two. Just adding a few thousand dollars to the build. But if that is what the client wants and they understand that by all means go with it.
  7. Engineer is going to hate you on that one.
  8. Open it in plan mode. Do a cad detail from view and copy/block the cad work of the open cabinet and paste in place on the plan view. Then close the cabinet so it shows correctly in your elevation view.
  9. 1.) Plug your laptop in as its using the UHD graphics card instead of the AMD card. 2.) Set chief to only use the AMD GPU regardless of power settings. (quick google search https://support.apple.com/en-us/102265#:~:text=If you want to use,is in Energy Saver preferences.)
  10. Is part of the symbol sticking into the wall?
  11. Use a reference display to show exterior stairs.
  12. By chance when you said scanned into chief you used a service such as Canvas to scan a project and had them provide the .plan file to use in chief? If this is what you mean by your description the file you received does not have the same settings/configurations as your template plan. In this case you are seeing they do not have a site or terrain saved plan view.
  13. Lots of ways to do this but if you want to stay with the soffit turn the soffit 90 degrees.
  14. The cabinet is still squared off but that rounded portion is the custom door which has a corner missing for all intents and purposes...
  15. room molding polylines duplicated with one with dark color and the other with light color. Turning off the sections of the corresponding color.
  16. You can no longer purchase an outright license. You would need to subscribe to a new license. You might be able to contact sales to see if they have a break for multiple licenses with a hybrid setup since you would have a legacy license and a new subscription license.
  17. Are you asking about PBR or PBR RTRT? PBR is still doable at least on the m1 and m2 chips. Not sure if anyone has reported on m3 yet as it is very new. RTRT is not currently supported by chief however is available in a competing software starting with the m1 chips. The issue is the compatibility with the rendering engine Chief uses and the apple silicone architecture. Kind of same reason why it is only a subset of nvidia and AMD GPUs that can do the RTRT as well. Regular PBR still works though.
  18. That will cause issues in vector views. Not having anything in the exterior layer is the way to fix this.
  19. Change your deck railing wall type to a single layer wall. It’s the drywall or siding layer trying to build through to the next level below.
  20. Use a roof beam or a symbol. BUT... Do you really need to show the failed beam like that? Could annotation on the plans to fix sunken column so Bearing beam is level suffice?
  21. I answered his question in FB as it’s a bit different how he asked it. He hasn’t acknowledged that post either…
