  1. Looks correct to me. Since your floor in the structure is going to plane out and not drop down 1ft at the porch just as in real life you would have two framing members in that space one for the floor structure above which would have to be at the same level as the rest and then a ceiling joist for the porch ceiling. Place a flat ceiling plane at the porch at the height you want it.
  2. Just keep in mind if there is not room for the track then there is not room for the door to slide open on the track…
  3. Any chance you placed some windows in 3d view and you have a window that is in the exact same space as another but maybe on the attic or basement level in specifcations?
  4. This answer completely depends on the version you are using. Please add your signature so we can tell.
  5. Yes exactly. Break the 4” block wall at the corner and set that part as a railing to the height you want.
  6. Sounds like a lot of fuss for this very simple structure. 100% Automatic including framing with the exception of manually adding the pilasters with get this the "post tool".
  7. Post the plan as it is most likely something in the plan file or in the wall definition that is causing the issues. Never seen this before.
  8. Look at the Wall layer intersection tool in the edit toolbar when you select the walls.
  9. So not real sure why you are seeing the 9 m2 in the yellow box at the bottom, but what you are showing in the red box of .9 cu. meters is not the area. It is reporting the amount of subfloor for that room and its set to report to cubic meters in the material definition, It is not square meters rather cubic meters which is the area x the depth of the subfloor you have set. Two different values you are looking for.
  10. Most likely this is the case. Just to add on to Dermot's solution. When you add a picture or a pdf directly to your layout you cannot reshape the box because it is not a layout box. If you send to a plan or better yet to a cad detail as Dermot suggests then send it to layout you are able to crop the layout box to exactly how you want it.
  11. 1.) Reset your walls heigth to default top wall height in structures panel of the walls. If that doesn't do it... 2.) in plan view go to attic level with attic walls turned on and delete the invisible walls that you have there that are keeping the attic walls from rebuilding. If that doesn't do it... 3.) Do it how it would actually be built and select the three walls and on structures panel of the wall dbx select balloon through ceiling above so that it balloon frames those walls AIRL.

  13. If it’s specific to floor framing. Turn off auto frame which if it’s is probably already done. Then you can marquis select all of the joists and group open them and change the depth. Probably best to change it in your defaults in floor structure as well to keep from any issues with elevations etc.
  14. Yes quite interesting since you can no longer transfer licenses without selling your business. How can a new user start with x13?
  15. I am guessing they must have not liked the proclamation. I gave you an upvote on this well explained alternative as there is nothing wrong with this method other than many have not found it necessary. BTW Exact same deck framing for my decks.
  16. Yes. If you search the forum for cursor or icon you will find this has been asked hundreds if not thousands of times. It is one of the top ten newer user questions I would venture to say. But I was also helping you out by showing you the help file of what you can search and the answer to your question. Glad you got it figured out. Glad @Chopsawwas able to write it out.
  17. Sorry I don't think we are on the same page. What I was trying to show was that if you drag to the bottom it will be horizontal instead of vertical so you will have that extra space to see your preview.
  18. If you grab where it has the T and ... you can actually move that to the bottom for example or somewhere else where it gives you the space you need. You can see that in this shot from one of the previous posts.
  19. Very common question. Some searching of the forum first will help many times. Or better yet F1 key and launch that help file.
  20. I can see how this would be very frustrating as I customize my deck framing on every plan. But I have literally done I would say 5-600+ deck plans easy with chief over the years. Other than UE with not turning off auto framing or checking retain deck framing I have never lost it. I have when I didn't do that.
  21. Losing room definition. Make sure you have retain framing checked.
